Important question about new prestige and teachables

So, if I'm understanding correctly the upcoming updates, teachables will now be tied to the prestige lvl of their respective characters rather than just leveling them to 40, and will be readily available on every other character without further grind which is good.
However I currently have a few killers, my favorites, with every perk already unlocked, while many others are simply at lvl 40 to unlock their teachables, while I have not bothered with prestige at all.
When the transition occurs, will my currently fully unlocked killers loose the teachables from the merely lvl 40 killers, forcing me to grind them to prestige 3 before I can actually resume playing normally?
If this is the case, then I'm kinda forced to prestige almost every killer to 3 before the update, regardless if I'm interested in the "special reward" or not, or else find myself in a very uncomfortable position.
I apologize if this has been asked before, but a simple search did not turn the answer to this question.

I think anything that's already unlocked will stay unlocked, this is just how it will work with future characters
So it shouldn't have any negative effect on your current progress

Yeah, I mean this how I think it would make sense too, but I was hoping someone had actually officially clarified this point and I was just too dumb to find it.
Because it's kind of a big deal, I think, and we all know that sometimes, the most logical, sensible path isn't always the one taken in videogame development.

Think of it this way:
There's not a chance in hell that BHVR would roll out something to address the grind and (outside of a bug) it would take progress away from people.
Plus I think BHVR is smart enough to let people know ahead of time if they would lose progress intentionally.
