Question: Why do people refer to Dredge as "he"?
Comments

imagine caring that much about pronouns... to even put them into your username. yikes.

We all know the role he's going to take when he ends up being Rule34'd. So to me he is a he.
Imagine caring so much that you felt you had to contribute nothing except criticizing someone's entirely benign respect for pronouns.

There's literally skin where that is exactly the case cause the entity legit fused them together.

Because his head looks like a penis.

Nothing anymore, as its achievemts were removed together with the DLC when BHVR lost the Stranger Things license last year.
Demodoggo too used to be refered to as "it" though ^^

Clearly its an apache helicopter

was that supposed to be an insult?

"Guys" when used to refer to a group of people not exclusively male is actually generally considered a gender-neutral term.
Same goes for "dudes" if the person saying it is a surfer.

thanks for being an ally and calling out a dumbass.

Obviously, its the inherent sexism of our culture, its virtually non-existent we point to monsters as female.
Give it a few 100 years, we can get over it.
2 -
Also, based on the entity's track record with bringing multiple creatures into the realm at once, they're probably all sharing a body anyway.
Twins - already conjoined.
Clown - Maurice got maimed and kind of became part of the realm and by extension the entity.
Dredge -a bunch of corpses welded together.
Legion - ?

singular they is a thing.
just saying.
also, I'm pretty sure the Druan (the monster the dredge really is) uses they/them pronouns in their lore.

Because most people don't obsess over pronouns.
1 -
Some people just like being consistent about the lore of the character, myself included. Hell, I’ve even started calling Mikey “it” instead of “he.”

Well, to answer your question... in some languages there's not an "it", as an example, in Spanish the neutral gender is male and I assume in many cultures and languages the same thing happens... even though in spanish is "La draga" which is female, I assume in other languages the articule you use to talk about Dredge is male.

ah yes mentions rule 34 and protects pronouns, they're always so predictable :)

Because The Dredge doesnt have legs so it must be masculine, femenine original Killers must go barefoot and you cant go barefoot if you have no legs, hence for original Killers shoes/no-legs = male, barefoot = female.
P.D. Wraith isnt barefoot for he is covered in mud, the fine cape of mud on his feet is a de facto pair of shoes so he is a male.

Before I posted that you posted asking why it matters.
Rule34 was a joke, but clearly, this topic matters to you.

In Spanish there arent neutral articles because every word is gendered, objects can be genderless for example "the apple" but the noun itself is gendered "LA manzana" same goes for masculine gendered nouns of stuff that doesnt have gender at all, "the melon"/"EL melon" so while objects dont have gender in the way living things have, the nouns used to name them are gendered, it sounds weird, especially for english speakers but its the way it is.

I just don't see why people have to bring this stuff up with the slightest thing, it's annoying after a while.

Sounds like a personal problem. Might I suggest not triggering yourself by repeatedly visiting those threads and posting nonsense?
0 -
ah yes "triggering yourself" coming from the people concerned about the pronouns of some pixels on a screen :/
1 -
I mean, everyone else was civil, you seem to be the only one in a twist about other people discussing it. So yes, you definitely appear triggered buddy.
0 -
how is calling out how ridiculous it is to even think this is important, being "triggered".
0 -
There is an entire population of people that don't think it's ridiculous, as literally evidenced in this thread.
Again, I don't particularly care about Dredge's identity but I don't actively discourage those who find value in discussing it. Your posts are active discouragement and even after called out you keep coming back. You're triggered, buddy.
Might I suggest a more gender friendly game for you, like chess?

True but... I was wondering if there was something I missed.
