The artist is not fun guys, what are you talking about?
I really can't understand these 5 people who play artist who think she's fun. There's nothing fun about holding " W " the entire game.
The artist's gameplay is an infinite and boring cycle :
1. use your crows to find survivors.
2. Get on a chase.
3. Put crows in a loop, watch the survivor leave, you'll be able to catch him cuz you're faster.
4. Watch the injured survivor go to another loop.
5. Repeat scheme 3.
6. Hook the survivor.
7. Repeat scheme 1.
8. Repeat scheme 2.
9. Repeat schame 3.
10. Repeat schame 4.
11. Repeat .....
12. Repea....
13. Re....
14.
15. Are you still holding " W " my love?
Playing artist makes me want to explode, no wonder she is one of the least played killers.
She is not fun, seek treatment.

3) put crows in a position where they will be hit if they leave the loop in a position that is advantageous to them
4) watch the injured survivor go down as you outsmarted them.
That's it. That's the fun.

If you're only using birds for zoning and tracking then yeah that doesn't sound very interesting.
6 -
so how do you use crows in an interesting way?
0 -
Quick reminder that fun is subjective
26 -
Is there another way to consistently and reliably use birds?
3 -
I use them as sort of hatchets, first use one crow to "infect" them then a second one to hit them, and getting hits through walls with artist that way is better than any huntress shot imo.
8 -
Well said. Artist is a strong Killer, but really unfun to play. And you cannot really blame the Survivors for holding W against her, because this is all they can do once a Crow is placed on a Loop.
3 -
Wouldn't really call that reliable or consistent, and even if it's fun it's no where near efficient.
2 -
She is boring asf. I played her so long her first week. And then i noticed she is always playing game with same way, so i stopped.
Nemesis, Nurse and Sadako are my cuties. All of them are so fun.
3 -
I beg to differ, I actually play a consistent amount of artist and get many shots per match, atm im busy with uni but If I have spare time I can record some footage since I have had a great time and got many crow downs, its sort of delayed pyramid head.
2 -
Downs and injures. I'm still learning but I'll still get a few of each per match (and usually throw because I'm avoiding m1s just for practice)
some of the more experienced artist mains I watch get around half if not more of all injuries per match via birds
1 -
Except PH is more consistent than Artist imho. And also, he's way more fun to me.
1 -
Are they long range downs or are they like Pyramid Head but worse downs?
0 -
So play fun killers instead?
3 -
As someone who plays artist a lot I think the best change she can get is to not allow crows to damage without you being swarmed first, makes the skill cap go up and not many people will drop her since she is not played a lot, obviously buff probably the cooldowns so that she can use them more often or something else.

Both, if I see them from afar ill try toinfect and snipe them, if im on a loop ill infect them and down them very similar to ph.
1 -
Both long range and the POTD style ones at vaults and pallets.
For long range I'm running the add-on that makes the birds take slightly longer to repel and the one that makes the aura visible slightly longer after they start repelling, good value for a yellow and a brown
3 -
Well, that's just not realistic at all.
You will not be able to win by just "catching up" to W keyers. Pretty much every map in the game has some form of chained loop, good survivors will force you to account for their W keying. Plus it saves a ton of time hitting W keyers with 1 crow and then predicting where they will go and sending some crows to injure them, which is the most effective way to play artist.
If you are consistently getting hits by catching up to W keyers, then sorry but them survivors are not good at chaining loops unless you've got them zoned in the corner of the map. On the flip side, if you are getting hit while W keying an artist, chances are you probably aren't chaining loops and abusing her slow movement speed correctly.
Carniveris is probably my favourite artist main currently. I would highly recommend watching her if you want to see what artist gameplay looks like.

And that bod 😏
2 -
this change would not solve anything, the artist would still be strong in loops.
Put a crow in the loop, even if the crow doesn't deal damage, the survivor would be marked, which means if you put the crow back in, the survivor would take damage, so he would still be forced out of the loop.

I agree, even if the PH is great in loops, you can still try to make him miss the punishment of the damned.
if the artist puts a crow in the loop, there's nothing you can do but run.

Oh no I meant to play tbh can't stand playing as the bird #########

If there's nothing fun about holding W all game, boy, you must really hate M1 killers.
I like successfully predicting where survivors are going to go next, and I like having the ability to force survivors away from obnoxious loops like shack or Haddonfield double window house. I also get a kick out of shooting birds at gens, heading towards them, and hearing the scream as someone jumps out of a locker I conveniently Iron Maiden'd. She's got some addons I think are fun and fit well with my playstyle. What is there to say? Fun is subjective. I don't like playing Huntress and I think Nurse is the most stressful and excruciating killer in the game. Different strokes for different folks.

I don't like playing her nor playing against her.
0 -
Not really as the cooldown for crows will be enough for them to take them off if the artist plans to do that.
0 -
You can bait her crows, they have a delay when the artist activates them, you run towarss them make the artist be trigger happy and throw them while you dont get injured.
2 -
wait till Dredge comes on live.
it`ll be even worse to play against.
0 -
I find her much more fun to play than nemesis, at least you can go for random cool shots with her. But as much as him, she becomes boring really fast.
0 -
THIS.
Her crows move at 20m/s when in an instant damage state, which is pathetically slow for a projectile.
0 -
I was actually coming back here just to recommend her but glad to be beaten to it :)
0 -
I like her but I understand why people don’t.
1 -
The Artist is basically a Pyramid Head that can set out multiple Punishments of the Damned and have them fire when they want. Only hers will hit people at any distance beyond the 7.5/8M limitation for tracking, potential damage, and various disabling modifiers.

I bought her this weekend and played about three games with her. She feels..... Rather oppressive. Typically I play B-tier and lower killers and she's just in another league.
0 -
You know what is funny to me?
People who consider anti loop killers unfun but are happy to run in circles against m1 killers on loops they can do ish about.
It is almost as boring means "I want easier games".
Community's hypocrisy is astonishing.

I don't like Artist. She is boring to face and play against. But i can play against Nemesis all day. Or Pyramid. Or Oni. Or Demo.

Artist is insanely broken, not only that, but she ruins the game for us survivor players who now have to commit to running in a straight line so that we do not get hit by crows. It is ridiculous.
0 -
Artist is like 10x more interesting and skillfull to play as then Mr. Best camper in the game imo. Yet he is one of the most played killers.
So what? Fun is subjective.
4 -
I've always found Artist to be a range killer for those who are too lazy to really aim a shot.
Still find her matches to be unfun.
0 -
I cant stand either of them to play. Artist is just boring and then PH is just too clunky feeling
0 -
That is sort of the problem with killer designs these days. They really don't have much variety in their gameplan as you usually only have two viable ways to play with one of them usually just flat out being better than the other in every way. Older killers designs used to ship with things that let them completely flip the way you approached playing them. We don't get much in the way of Sniper Doc, Scratched Mirror Myers, Thousand cuts Legion(RIP Frank's/SWS), etc.

I agree that PH is more consistent in hits but Artist is a strategic Killer to get hits and that's where the fun is imo.
1 -
nah i find her such a bore to play
0 -
Sniping people with birds is fun especially if you get the people who run in a straight line for some reason
2 -
Hey that's your opinion and I can't argue with that. To each thier own I'm pretty sure there's Killers you play I don't find fun lmao.
0 -
You have to really know how to play her well to get the most fun out of her power. Getting bird snipes across the map is very fun once you learn how to do it.
5 -
None of dbd killer are fun, they all are one trick ponies that only good at one thing lol
0 -
Idk if I would call her unfun to play.
But the combination of having to go through forced delay in order to fire out her crows and how much work it is to get damage with her ability just leaves her in a category of a killer I don't feel motivated to play.
0 -
I just like watching survivors get pecked by birds tbh.
0 -
She's fun for me and that's all that matters, same satisfying feeling as hitting hatchets, but on the double. I like the prediction, i like being able to pressure multiple people at the same time, i like the sense of control. I don't get that with other killer's. But people would rather play against a Nurse who ignores all the rules or participate in a Bubba staring contest it seems.
Plus Severed hands is a really fun add-on.

Yeah I'd put Artist up there with DS as the least fun killers to face in the game.
