What causes queues to be so consistently unbalanced?

I live in NA East.
I've noticed that in the morning and early afternoon, survivor queues are instant while killer queues are very long. On the contrary, in the late afternoon and evening, survivor queues are very long while killer queues are instant.
Originally I chalked this up to survivors preferring to play with their friends, but the queues stay this way during weekends and holidays so I don't think this theory holds true. It may also be that survivor mains are gremlins that only play at night, but that also doesn't seem reasonable.

It’s the friends thing. People play with their friends at night more often than during the day even on weekends and holidays.

The dbd community is mostly made up of grown a** people, I would think it's because most of us are at work during the day and mostly play at night when we get home, and I don't think a lot of people wanna wake up early during a weekend (the only few days a month that we get to wake up late) just to play a game lol.

It's because a lot of people don't want to play killer at night because there are more SWFs at night. We all know many killers would dodge SWFs if possible, and playing during the day is the easiest way to dodge most of the SWFs.

I think it's a shared experience between servers, most likely people play with their friends after work (so late afternoon / night) and can only play survivor, whereas people who play solo can play whenever they can during the day and play both roles (a bunch of people only play survivor with their friends and play killer the rest of the time).
