I hate this stupid game

I'm so tilted, I played like 10-15 games today as soloq and I didn't escape once, I'm always either camped, tunneled, left on hook by brain dead teammates or downed in 10 seconds by 10k hours nurse. This is such a garbage game......

When i feel like this usually i uninstall to comeback after some months, at some point a game can hurt your mental health. take a break when you need to, there is no shame in that.

I understand how you feel. Solo q is #########. I’d recommend to play super stealthy if you don’t want to deal with nurses and stuff.

I love this intelligent game. So it all balances out, cosmically.

Yeah I've been trying to learn survivor and mostly done solo queue... not recommended. I had an 'escape with Claudette' mission/ritual and oh my god it was horrible, it took me 8 games to do it and I've got better perks on Yoichi and Jake so its frustrating as hell.

Like a lot of people complain about the killer tunneling and camping which true is annoying but I can't fault the killer for taking advantage of somebody doing a bad play. I can however fault the idiot who thinks its a great idea to unhook me right in front of the killer without borrowed time. Twice! Another one I had two different Megs block me with a pallet when the killer was a fair distance away, then bodyblock me while the killer is coming and I'm trying to run and they are crouching through a doorway. 'Allied' survivors annoy me way more then anything the killer does and you really don't know whether or not they are doing it on purpose.

Granted if somebody unsafe hooks or blocks an ally with a pallet while I'm killer I will go out of my way to ignore the victim and hunt down the offender. I don't care about winning on killer but survivor based missions, rituals, tome things are usually escape or bust.

Play different games. Hollow Knight for example?

I suggest putting the game down for a little bit and trying something new, like bagpipes.

I've had a 10 game losing streak as survivor, and yes - it can be a bit disheartening.

Eventually your MMR will even out and you'll be facing killers more your speed.

Solo queue is due some buffs, and we'll see what'll happen with the massive overhaul the game is getting soon - but it's going to have to be done very carefully so that killers don't end up eating dirt against SWFs.

That said - yeah. Just take a break. A few days. Play a different game to clear your head (I'd recommend The Riftbreaker, my GOTY for 2021).

You can also try to change what your win condition is in your head. About a year ago when I was having really rough matches where I was barely escaping, I decided to just focus on my looping and chase abilities as survivor instead of just trying to escape. I thought it was a win when I performed well and made good macro game decisions on my part.

The problem with leaving survivors on the hook because i don't have bt is 9 times out of 10 the survivor dies on hook and it turns into a hatch game which is more boring than a killer face camping the first guy to death. We recognize this problem and still we refuse to run the required perks (Ds,bt,ub,dh) to help us out of it because above all else the meta perks push this game into a sweat fest where fun games are fewer and fewer.

I don't get people who come to the forums to post about how they hate the game and they'll never play it again.

Or worse, people who come and post ######### about the game, while saying they haven't played in 2 years.. Why do you keep coming here if you haven't been an active player for years? Stockholm syndrome much?

If they want attention they can go shitpost on reddit instead of polluting the forums here. But yeah you're probably right. And I usually stay away from these threads, I don't see the point.

Hey I think I faced you last night! I was the Nemesis in Wreckers' yard. You guys pumped out gens like it was 2016 BNP times and I ended up protecting the hook. I rarely do this, and it was absurd how fast gens were, even by high MMR standards, as I've been having fast chases and gave up a chase when it was problematic. I'm sorry it wasn't pleasant, but there was /nothing/ else I could do.

I always feel bad when someone dies on their first hook and they sit the entirety of both stages without trying to unhook themselves or missing any skill checks in the second phase. I'll even go to the other side of the map in hope that of the others don't hear my TR they will unhook.

Yeah ... I had a bad experience as survivor as well the last time (and killer is also not better) so I didn´t wanted to play the game at all today, I just wasn´t in the mood for all the toxicity ... but then I saw their new survey with rewards and so I decided to play a few matches to answer their questions. And the last question is "Did you want to play another one right after this match?

Of course, I DO play more matches because you need 7 for the rewards but actually I could answer this question with a big NO every single time. In my solo survivor matches most of the killers slug, tunnel and face camp (at 5 gens) ... and I know for sure if I would switch to killer now I would be against pro squads on comms.

I think only swf players (4 stack) can have fun in this game. Solo survs (at least oif they aren´t god loopers) and killers (at least if they aren´t god nurse or blight) are pretty much screwed.

You need to get out of low MMR, just play and wind will change. I also play solo and have escaped all day, perhaps 8-9 games and was killed only once.

    MMR is to blame.

Take a break for a while just for the matches to playout the same way they did when you stopped playing.

you got it all wrong pal Patrick said if you don't escape you lose if you ran the killer for 5 gens was it even really a skilled play if you didn't get out so get used to playing hockey.

  • amazing_grace
    amazing_grace Member Posts: 734

You right. My mistake. How silly was I to forget I was playing hockey?

To be fair, whenever I get face camped on the hook because I ran the killer too long I just think, my fault I wasn't skilled enough to run them for 5 gens and escape. If you don't want to be camped/tunneled, just never get caught. Not being able to escape is just a skill issue. 🤣

    we all do.

There is nuance to it. I usually play nice as killer, i.e. by survivor rule book. But if I spend too much time on 1 person, and can't find anyone else near by quickly, you will be proxy camped and/or tunneled. It's just how the game works. Sometimes being nice is just not affordable. And yes, it's your skill issue. You need to think strategically. When I'm survivor and 1 gen left and killer spent too much in chase, I let killer catch up to me, so he can feel that leaving me and defending that last gen is good choice, because I know if that last gen is done, chances are I might be camped. In other words, be nice to killer and he might be nice to you.

In summary: skill is not just looping, but also understanding psychology and using it strategically.

  • amazing_grace
    amazing_grace Member Posts: 734

You see, the problem with that is you don't know what is too many gens for a killer or if the killer would normally camp anyway. Sometimes I'm in situations where I pop the first gen, get into chase, and then my chase lasts long enough so that 2 gens pop and the fourth gen is almost ready to go. It doesn't necessarily have to be a long chase, but by that point, it would just be the best scenario for them to camp me. I also don't know if my teammates are doing gens or running around the map doing side objectives when I'm in chase. I'm not looping the killer to be mean, and I don't think giving them the hook to be "nice" is a thing I should have to do. I've gotten camped and tunneled for only having a 20 second chase because I won a mind game (or they didn't like Bill). It's very hard to use psychology when this game is not meant to be mind gamed at that level. I try to buy my team as much time as possible because I never know what efficiency they're completing the gens.

I do understand that if a killer invests too much time into one survivor. Their best chances at getting a kill is camping and tunneling that one survivor to death. I can't blame a killer for doing that if they're that desperate for a kill. If you couldn't tell, my response was mostly sarcastic when I was replying to the other person. I'd rather get camped at the end game and have my team escape because I know I wasted enough of the killer's time to merit that response.

" I don't think giving them the hook to be "nice" is a thing I should have to do" - of course you don't have to be "nice", and that's fine, but then it doesn't make sense to complain that killer is not being "nice". You want to give your team time, that's fine if you are having close game or losing. But if you are dominating killer and forcing him into camping, what does it achieve you? Others don't get unhook points and don't get chase points and killer gets no points. What's the point? Best teams don't care about hooks as long as it's within the hook budget. I've seen people giving killers hooks just stop them from tunneling. If you want to get camped to death, that's fine too, but then, just as BHVR said, you have no survival skill and if you can't strategize beyond that. The win condition is clearly defined by devs now. It's not how long you loop or how little hooks you give to killer. It's whether you survive or not. And SBMM is based on the win condition. You are free to make your own win condition, but SBMM is not going to be based off that. It is what it is.

Yeah, I can completely relate. Honestly when so many survivor games go wrong switching to Killer can be a breath of fresh air! I've also noticed the skillset of fellow teammates is very time-dependent.

I'm going back to being Solid Snake and goofing around in a cardboard box, Blendettes have got nothing on this ultimate stealth mode 😎

This is what my solo games are like as well. It's miserable. Solo queue is absolutely the worst way to play this game. Teammates are afk, or they will not do gens, they heal someone who hasn't been hooked to let you die on hook, and on and on. It's rare that killers do more harm than survivors.

  • amazing_grace
    amazing_grace Member Posts: 734

I don't know where you thought that I was complaining that the killer wasn't being "nice," but my first post was completely sarcastic in response to the person who replied to me. Like... I wasn't really being serious at all in my response. There's some truths in what I wrote, but it was mostly just a silly response to the other person.

I do understand your logic about strategically going down so that the killer doesn't need to camp, but it's just not a viable strategy in solo queue when I have no idea what my teammates are like or how the killer will react. I don't want to just give the killer a down after 1 gen pops because I have no idea if the killer will still camp me, my team will just stick gens and let me go to second hook stage, or if my team doesn't know how to save/saves me without bt. There's just too many variables for me to rely on that I personally don't want to go down for the heck of it. I don't care too much about being camped or tunneled, the only time I care is when I'm being tunneled at 5 gens for no good reason or if I'm being camped and hit on hook after having a bad chase (where it wouldn't make sense to camp me). In a perfect world, using psychology could work, but in this game, a misplay can cause a giant snowball, and I rather practice my chase skills than escape. I personally don't care about escaping as my win condition, I'd rather keep my MMR level at what it's at since I get a good variety of killers and not just nurse and blight. Being chased and making good macro and micro plays is what I enjoy doing in the game, so getting camped and tunneled is annoying, but I just wait on the hook to go next game and hope my team leaves me to finish gens. Honestly, I'd rather die on hook and guarantee a 3 man escape than having my team risk the 4 man.

SoloQ is wonderful. Just ran Ego-Perks (DH, DS, UB and Kindred), sell your Teammates and rank up every round. If someone falls, ran towards to get the unhook first, do gens and totems, bring killers, when u are in the chase, to your comrates at gens to sell them to the killer and get rid of him yourself. Follow these rules and u will rank up almost every round and have fun yourself.

The only reason is: dont get chased first!

It might be because I don't take playing Killer as seriously. I'm perfectly okay with 3K's and giving hatch or exit to the last survivor, if they weren't terribly toxic. Don't get me wrong tho, if there is a macroflashlighter who wants my attention, they will have it undivided, till death do us part 😈

8 hours dang. Alert, that one that let's you see them after a gen, and Empathy do WONDERS for survival. Also come in with a toolbox.

I had that problem with David, he just seems slower, he's big so it's hard to hide. I got him to 49 and he STILL didn't have good perks. X.X
