Question About New Prestige System/Perk Unlocks

I haven't seen this answered, so I figure I'll ask here. I literally just finished leveling all my survivors so each of their skills were unlocked in the bloodweb, but I haven't yet got those skills on every character. It's only been about a month since I finished.

With the new Prestige rework, which apparently unlocks skills based on prestige level instead of bloodweb, will I now need to go back and prestige every character to get the perks I just worked my butt off for? I feel like this isn't clear enough. I know that when I prestige characters in the new model I will not lose abilities/items, but what of the things that we've all worked to unlock in bloodwebs but haven't yet obtained, for whatever reason? A little clarification on this is greatly appreciated.

    I think I got you:

    The only changes is you'll keep all of your items/perks when you prestige and you'll receive the perks based on prestige instantly on all characters.

    Besides that, the perks will still be in the bloodweb. You'll just need to prestige those characters to receive them instantly.
