What's up with NOED

I've been playing DBD for a while now and have noticed survivors complaining constantly about NOED and I don't know why, its a end game perk and can even help killers get at least 1 to 2 kills if the game is bad. I've had NOED on my killers for a while now, and doesn't really change my game that much if the game is bad. I have NOED I maybe you can get 1 even 2 kills, if I'm lucky and that's every once in a while

I'm not arguing for its existence. I just want to know what the problem is with it.

My favorite is when they try to insult you for having it in your build when you beat them before it even activated. NOED maybe giving you one kill in endgame is so OP and unfair but Dead Hard 12+ times a game is fair and balanced

Exactly!!! That's why I didn't understand the problem with it

Contrary to popular belief, NOED rewards good Killer play.

If a Killer plays well, but not well enough to sacrifice all 4 Survivors before the Exit Gates are powered, then Survivors won't have time to cleanse Totems, meaning NOED will activate.

If a Killer plays badly, Survivors will have time to cleanse all Totems and deny NOED from even activating

NOED can give you extra kill on most killers, it can be more if you have other perks to help with it and correct killer.

Survivors then feel like that kill was undeserved. It's same as when killers hate DH, it's just easy way to make chase longer which makes it feel undeserved.

Only thing that might be fine to change about NOED is to show survivors they are exposed when all gens are finished -> it's not that big suprise.

I would say it punishes lazy survivors instead.

I always use Detective's Hunch -> it's an amazing perk for NOED hunters.

We can't cleanse five totems that's ridiculous who has time for that!!!

    ::boons 100 times a game::

Yeah but compared to dh, noed is 100x more counterable.

I think DH is way stronger for sure.

Just wanted to make a comparison about undeserved feeling both sides can have while encountering some perks, which I don't think is a good thing to have.

Survivors just need to bait it out!

I disagree respectful. I feel like devour hope and no way out reward good gameplay. Dead hard and noed reward you for losing. That’s just me tho

Outplaying a killer all game and then dying to NOED isn't a great feeling.

I wouldn't argue NOED is good I would say it kinda feels like "######### this person in particular" type perk you get for not doing well and that's unhealthy game play to me.

Personally, I find NOED only annoying because if I run soloQ for a prolonged time my MMR inevitably ends up in the abbyss eventually and then you have 9/10 games with NOED (mostly, I believe, because it is an easily accessible perk). Doesn't mean I find it too strong or anything - but it will get an eye roll and annoyed sigh every single time.

That aside, another aspect that is incredibly frustrating about NOED is that from the survivor side it very quickly looks very unjustified. From a killer perspective it's "Well, it's one secured kill, so what?" and you don't really give much thought to who out of the four it is. Whoever happens to cross your path first. --- If that survivor happens to be the one who more or less carried their team by doing at least two gens solo, unhooking and healing the others and who kept the killer busy for a good while earlier in the match NOED feels like a massive middle finger.

Don't let them shame one of the most powerful perks in the game nor anyone who uses it.

The game is about managing health states. Deadhard takes a few health states away on surv side, noed takes a few back.

The world is a beautiful give and take my brothers and sisters of the fog.

Noed is gloriously fun, as fun as Deadhard is for survs. Noed and deadhard go hand in hand in the health state give and take.

Gotta give a little to get a little bros

    In short:

NOED as a Perk comes in at the very end of a trial when the Survivors already expect to have won and then rips that supposed win away from them again. Due to this they feel like they got "robbed" off their earned victory, which usually results in a dislike for the thing that did it.

When in this situation, most will not look at it from an objective point of view, but be full of emotion and ignore away the fact that NOED was entirely preventable had they not made certain mistakes, which leads to the rather common misconception that NOED was a "reward for failure" or "overpowered".
