I feel like people will use Dredge's Nightfall as an excuse

Basically last gen is done and someone is down all of sudden Nightfall actives simple try to rescue the teammate not so had some people who just straight up left I asked them why did they leave their response "I don't want to deal with nightfall". Firstly they were on rotten fields the most open map in the entire game with hardly any buildings anywhere so navigate through the map isn't hard plus simple don't want to wait out Nightfall well deal with it by hiding somewhere like a locker I get the dredge can teleport to them but the chance of it choosing the one your in is low besides Nightfall doesn't last for three minutes it last maybe a minute or so I get Dredge is new to the game but it's not that hard to remember what to expect on the map you've been playing on for a while.

They just don’t like a mechanic that doesn’t have a huge easy to find counter. Let them suffer and have fun with people who stay. I know I do.

    And now?

as you said it’s just an excuse, if it wasn’t for nightfall those people would leave you hanging anyway either with another excuse or without explaining why at all.

and… it’s okay? Like.. i know it can feel frustrating especially when you are first hook but they can leave if they want to..

Same as the others said, why are your teammates forced to try a rescue attempt during endgame or straight up egc?

I as killer main see that with the same greed as the killer slugging for the 4k. The killer has won with a 3k and survivor won with a 3e. Sucks for the left survivor but this game isn't built around 4k or 4e.

Ideally 1 or 2 survivor should die every trial and the 4k/e should be edge cases instead of the other way around at the moment.

They probably didn’t want to deal with noed which is understandable.

There's alot more negatives than positives when it comes to going back to rescue a random during end game. They would need to make the reward worth the risk and right now it's not.

You only get 1000-1500 BP for an unhook in a category that if you've made unhooks/heals throughout the match you've probably maxed out by end game. If you escape you get 5000 BP in a category that's very difficult to max out. You also risk dying/being left behind yourself if you go for that end game save - so not only miss out on the escape BP but also dropping your MMR which for survivor can result in worse teammates.

I've gone back plenty of times for a rescue only to then be left behind instead of teammates resetting and coming back to get me. If during the match it doesn't seem like the team will be one to work together during end game to get everyone out then I'm leaving first chance I get. If I get hooked during end game I expect to die because the randoms have more to lose than they do to gain by risking a save.

Going back for a save in general is risky. Add in Nightfall, NOED, basement, etc. - they increase the risk with no increase in reward for the other survivors.

Some people are afraid to die on a game. Some people would rather mount an escape attempt and die trying.

Those who make excuses for the former feel guilty about it and secretly want to be like the latter.

Don't worry about them. Just be what you expect others to be.

I often leave instead of going for an all out safe, just for the killers sake. Most of the time the killer is really struggling and even the meager 1k will often be taken away by strong and competent survivors.

When the killer dominates, giving hatch isn't unheared of, and some survivors even demand it; at the very least gifting hatch is a common occurrence, so I would love to see the same from the other side.

If the survivors dominate, why go for each and every safe and leave the killer with nothing? If we had the same culture as with the hatch, I am sure the toxicity, camping and tunneling would curb down a fair bit.

Just some food for thoughts. A 4E is fun, but honestly, 1k ain't that bad, right? And you don't lose that much. So show some pity, next time you totally walz over a killer.

I absolutly agree with you. Same thing goes for the rounds with a friendly killer (those unserious rounds). I would love to see it becoming normal, that one surv gives the killer a kill, not that it is granted, that every surv escapes.

I get it if there killer is having a hard time basically zero hooks or anything and well their not a basement Bubba I'll more then likely go out of my way to let them at least get a killer it's when the killer has gotten multiple hooks and even a kill that it annoys me with teammates teabagging the exit gate and not bothering to help.

Tbh though, in friendly killer rounds the killer most of the time won't accept a mercy hook. They even shake their head when I gift them my items. But it would be nice if the concept of the mercy hook was a bit more widespread. I consider myself already spoiled with mercy hooks, but in all my time I never got more then 5 max. But each and everyone left a profound impression on me.

I have the honest opinion that altruism runs stronger in killers then in survivors, and I don't mean the altruistic bloodpoint category, that's just a game mechanic that rewards going for saves. But true altruism that isn't materially rewarded is pretty rare. Giving hatch is one, and giving mercy hooks would be the other side of the coin. But in the vast amount of cases I went out of the exit gates after actually everyone escaped and I waved at the killer and run under a hook, the killers would either shake their heads or carry me back to the exit gates. Contrast this with how often three survivors will swarm a hook during the EGC and then twerk and flashlight click their vitriolic ritual in the exit area.

Who is the real monster, here?

Give it a few months and I think most people will adapt and stop doing this. People are always unsure around new killers and new abilities.
