Happy anniversary! Let the sweat begin :)
Played my two first games for the anniversary!
First game: Game goes like any regular other match, I find the envelop and immediately gets tunneled to death (the game was also going fine for the killer, pretty sure he actually threw it just to tunnel me)
Second game: Facecamped at 5 gens while the killer BMs me
Pro tip for survivors: Don't spend your flans :)
Even better tip for survivors: Don't play survivor during this event (or any events really)! Killers also get all the rewards for free so that's nice
I'm going to play survivor only for the challenges (and not spend a single flan of course) and sweat tf out of it. If you encounter me as killer it's your lucky day I'll just hook everyone twice and let you go.

Party hats for all Survivors!

They're not trying to win. You can literally see ppl on the forums or wherever bragging about tunneling out sparkly survivors to make sure they don't get the rewards. First killer I went against literally turned a probably 4k into a 2k just so I wouldn't escape. And killers make barely any BPs from facecamping. It's not about winning, it's about weirdos who want a power trip.
Also, I'll get more BPs using a single offering later on that I made getting facecamped. 3k x 5 cakes isn't even equal to the average amount of BPs i get out of a normal game without any offerings, using flans now would be a waste for me and a reward for people i wish would step on legos.

Dude, I already came across 3 sweaty killers and the last one BM'd me even though I did nothing with ruin/undying and pentimento. Why did bhvr make it so you have to open the gates to get your reward? The Killer's are just gonna play like a holes on purpose so we don't get our rewards

First match: went for 12 hooks. Ignoring a survivor who was at death hook at 4 gens and only started to kill at 1 gen left. Engame chat: "you toxic piece of ****!"
Second match: was gen rushed so hard. I got more hooks in the last 60 seconds than during the rest of the match. Endgame chat also wasn´t happy about this one.

I mean not to sound like a jackass but ultimately survivors - as entitled or toxic they may be - don't have the ability to prevent you from getting event rewards, or literally prevent you from playing the game, or forcing you to farm, or wasting your flan by ensuring you don't get BPs. Killers do, and a lot of them seem to enjoy ruining survivors' experience over winning the game.
I'm not complaining about killers playing normally, but killers making it their goal to stop survivors from escaping with the invitation.
(Also these survivors are probably getting awful game after awful game so I wouldn't take their salt too personnally)

Thats funny that you say that. I had a survivor keeping the game hostage for a couple of minutes, by standing on a unreachable spot. I´ve also had several matches, where i couldn´t find the pedestal for the event skin. Because the match was so quickly over.
So... you´re wrong. Both sides have their toxic people. That try to prevent the other side from having fun.

Seeing as many sweats during the event makes me want to not play, but yet again it's the anniversary so I feel like i'm forcing myself to play a game that already irritates me because of the potential benefits. Then you have the other side when you settle with that, that refuse to use their flan/cakes. Ugh.

"Even better tip for survivors: Don't play survivor during this event (or any events really)! Killers also get all the rewards for free so that's nice."
100% this! It seems like everyone and their nan are playing survivor right now and it's seriously screwing with the matchmaking.

Someone standing on an unreachable spot is an exploit that you can report and has nothing to do with them playing survivors. Also it's pretty hypocritical to complain about survivors finishing the gens too quickly for you to find the pedestal, right after bringing up survivors complaining you killed them as a toxic behavior.
They're literally just playing the game, just like you are when you're killing them. They need to finish the gens unlock their reward, so it's not like they're going out of their way to stop you from fiding the pedestal. Not to mention you have the ability to stop survivors from doing gens, you can even run an entire build dedicated to it if it's that much of an issue.
Also I never said only killers are toxic, i literally mentionned survivors being toxic in my comment and to reiterate: doesn't matter how toxic they are, they can't stop you from playing the game. Yes it's still toxic and unfun, but they still can't stop you from playing and getting the rewards, which is what I'm talking about.

Honestly i'd suggest you play killer, the event is cool and most survivors don't hoard their flans (+if you're nice to them they'll be extra nice to you bc the event is a pain for them haha). Maybe you'll get less stacks of flans as killer but you'll still get more BPs than you would playing survivor and getting facecamped, also you get the rewards much more easily.

The most sincere advice I can give is that if you set yourself up with the expectation that everyone you encounter plays in a certain way, you're going to frustrate yourself when they don't - while you might encounter some players who want to just quickly unlock (and help each other unlock) the new content, not everyone will have that perspective & there is simply no way to realign the heaven and stars in order to filter out the one group in favor of other other, or enact whatever appropriate justice you think should befall the people who aren't playing the way you want.
The event's been out for less than a day. They're not going to run out of invitations, and this event's easier to complete than former anniversary events since you no longer need to escape on every single survivor to get the cosmetics for each of them, respectively.
Just play the game, get away with what you can, and find peace with the idea that you won't get to walk out of every match you queue into with everything you want to get.

Sounds like someone hurt you and you decided to stoop a step lower. That'll show 'em!

You know I would but I absolutely hate being killer, I was that kid that hated being the seeker during hide and seek and would literally cry about it so, I really really really hate being killer.

First match: Sweaty tunneling Nurse
Second match: Sweaty tunneling Nurse
Third match: Sweaty tunneling and camping Myers.
Yeah, I'm definitely not bringing any Flans and just using Escape Cakes. I'm not giving these toxic killers any free BP.

A lot of the negativity that I feel when it comes to playing killer comes from where I set my expectations - it's kind of embarrassing to be made the fool when you're in the power role, but that's also to some extent what's on the table when you queue in. If you focus less on things like "getting a 4k every time" or "never losing a chase" and more on goals that span multiple games, like "learn something new every time" or even "commit to chasing this one person for the entire match just to learn loops because I will literally never catch them", you'll start to develop a bit of that resilience to keep yourself from becoming tilted when you're encountering disappointing results.
Queueing into a match doesn't cost you anything but time, for the most part. You don't lose anything even when you lose.

I hope the mods start deleting these posts. Darn, you had 3 bad matches. Time to make a post on the forums because now the event is ruined and I'll never have a good match again¡
This post is particularly egregious since it's literally just "SeE, kIlLeRs ArE aCtUaLlY tHe ToXiC oNeS"

Got Tornament Freddy + All seeing Silent Bell Mori Wraith so far.
I maybe play some killer now to chill and let survs escape.
Can´t believe how totally unfun some people are.

Whats hypocritical about getting false accusations of being toxic (remember, i could have finished the game at 4 gens), while i gave them more than a fair chance.

In the 4 hours I've played I've had 3 map offerings and mori offerings brought by killers lol random teammates aren't the most generous either but aw well 👍

How is me switching roles to play killer and actually have fun "stooping a step lower" lmao, unless you're referring to me keeping my survivor flans to use them later? In which case, i apologize for spending BPs on survivors while I'm playing killer, and am so very sorry i didn't use my offering this game and an other batch of players is going to benefit from it :'(
Saying "survivor during events is unfun so im gonna play killer and so should you" isn't crying about how the event ruined, i've been enjoying it just fine. I'm literally just advising survivors to keep their flans and play killer if they want to get the rewards much quicker (and actually have fun), it's not like i'm crying bc killers aren't farming or dared kill me during an event.
Killers are toxic, survivors are toxic, it's nothing new and not what this post is about. I wouldn't even bat an eye at being facecamped or tunneled any other day, but yknow what yes i'm annoyed when the killer is doing it *because* they don't want survivors to get the rewards, and that they do that every single event yet getting to end game is *still* a requirement for survivors when killers can literally stop that from happening by literally just standing in front of them, making events that require survivors to reach endgame vastly unfun on the survivor side bc some killers enjoy the power trip of denying a reward for no reason.

There's nothing toxic about killing survivors and nothing toxic about doing gens, it's literally each side's objectives.
It's very nice of you to give them a chance, but even if you hadn't it still wouldn't have been toxic of you to end the game, just like survivors making the game last so everyone gets rewards and BP would be very nice, but they also don't have to and aren't toxic if they end the game fast.
And to fix the problem of not finding an invitation, personally if I don't have it by the time all the gens pop I down a survivor and drop them in front of the exit gates, so the survivors know i'll let them go and I go look for it while they heal the slugged survivor. So far I've only had one killer game where I didn't get the invitation, and that's bc I didn't have a flan so I couldn't see its aura. Obviously this only works if you're willing to let the remaining survivors escape, but it's been working well for me :)

Yes sir ! (To answer the title of the post)
But that aside, I think most people turn their mindsets to be more casual or farmy (as in they focus on getting points rather than "winning"), but there are still people who play normally or play sweatier because they know people will play less sweaty so they just...... take advantage of that. Yee.
Well atleast thanks to anniversary
cakesflans you can still get a bigger amount of bp than usual, even if you get sweats (then you actually get the usual amount, but hey. Normally you would get less to nothin so it's still something)1 -
Yes absolutely, a little bit of sweat is expected when there's higher stakes (even when I don't mean to i often make less BPs when i use a party streamer because it makes me play more cautiously). Survivors and killers being under pressure and playing more sweaty isn't so bad, what's sad is people playing for the sole purpose of stopping other players from getting a reward, even it means less BPs for them as well. On the bright side with the new system we can get all the rewards from playing killer, so the rewards aren't lost but the fun on the survivor side is certainly going to be lacking for a few days.

Everyone here can read, and understood that you intentionally worded that post to show that you're ready to be the griefer. It's cute.
It's also petty, and no one is going to waste time listening to you split hairs so that you come off more innocent about it.

?? Genuinely confused, that was literally not implied at all i promise. I even made an other discussion about how being nice paid off with wholesome sceenshots from my killer games. I'll admit once upon a time i got titled bad enough by a swf squad i facecamped the next game, but i felt so bad i let the remaining ones go, apologized to the one i facecamped and literally never did it again. If i get titled enough to want to ruin other ppl's games i just turn it off. Also i only play killer seriously if i have a "kill x survivors" challenge, otherwise i always let the last one go, or all of them if they're cute or funny. And i've never ever being called toxic playing survivor, and that's not something i want to change.
I absolutely do not want to be known as a griefer, it's an honest mistake if my post sounds like I'm saying "if you can't beat them, join them", it really was not my intention at all.

Yeah sry, just read the examples you posted about.
That's just normal (unfortunatly) low skill behaviour from killers.
The fact it happend during this event and that those were your first games just aplified it.
But still use flans tho, atleast for your self.
1 -
Maybe the facecamp was regular behavior, but the first one literally threw the game to ensure I wouldn't escape bc he saw me finding the invitation. Doesn't matter much either way, I'm playing killer instead so I use flans and get all the BPs without the sweat lol, I'll go back to survivor when i'm done with the killer challenges, things should be alright by then anyways.

That's fair, but then ######### xp.
Didn't they know the invitations respawn so everyone can get them ?
Anyhows I hope you still get to enjoy the event.

I´ve given up on trying to carry survivors to the exit. Some dc and others thank me with a ggez.
Some people just want to watch the world burn. Especially during an event.
