How exactly do the community tome challenges work?
I just finished up the first one, which was either 40 skillchecks or 40 gen kicks, so my personal contribution is maxed out. But I can't claim the challenge and move on to the next one. So, here are my questions
Does the community goal need to be reached to move onto the next challenge?
Is the personal goal the only amount you can contribute?
Can you contribute to the community goal without having the challenge selected?
Can you contribute while you have the challenge maxed out?

When finished as long as you keep it active you still make progress towards it. I believe it has to be selected. I also assume the community goal needs to be achieved to continue.

Your personal progress and the community progress both need to be filled in order to claim that challenge.
I just hope that you don't have to have it selected for your extra progress to count for the community total. If not then it might make things go a bit slow for the entire event seeing how much luck or game throwing those other challenges are. But at it's current rate and already being over 10% in a few hours, Id figure that challenge will be done in under a day leaving plenty of time for the others. Likely nothing to worry about. Just do your part and enjoy the game

Needing to keep it selected after your personal is done makes no sense. Everyone will be doing either the challenges at the bottom or tome 4 challenges.

I'm unsure of this but doesn't tome 4 last for a month still? While the event is for 2 weeks, plus I believe the rift points go towards this rift pass so you get progress towards both. I know I'll be farming as killer breaking gens because I want the dredge outfit.

My rift has been done for a month so i couldnt care less about fragments but why would i keep a challenge ive already done selected when i have open ones that reward bp...
