I've had this happen a bunch. Even when I 3k and the last person gets hatch they'll say I lost. Or if they do all the gens but 3 die in the endgame they say I lost. There's a lot of survivors, not all mind you, but a lot who think if a killer doesn't 4k then they completely lost. This could be due to misconceptions on what people think winning is and they're trying to project their own misconceptions on to you. Or, it could be because of how behavior designed their trash win conditions. Because every match is a 1v1 with each individual survivor, you got two wins and two losses, which in your mind is half and half, so a draw. But in their mind they won their 1v1, so technically they won and you lost.

Either way, there's a lot of misconceptions about how wins actually work in this game. A lot of survivors have messaged me stating if I don't 4k before 5 gens are done then I've lost. While I don't find this true, it does spread around this idea to others that's what needs to occur for a win to happen. So killers do that and it spawns even more debate about why killers are slugging for the 4k. And it's a constant cycle of mains from both sides accusing the other side of being toxic.

for some killers, only a 4k is a win. Maybe he meant this.

Survivors have a pretty low bar to clear for a win, if you go by their standards. You dumpster them and 3k with 0 gens complete but the last one finds the hatch first? GG EZ U LOST GIT GUD BABY KILLER

It’s nonsense that comes from Behavior refusing to define a win or loss in any sensible, practical way.

This is a 1v1v1v1v1 so if the person gets out then they did in fact win you can ask Patrick.

I prefer to use my own definition: if the survivors had a miserable time playing the match, I won.
