Kill Switch update: We have temporarily disabled The Legion due to an issue that allows for infinite power spam. The Legion will be re-enabled once this issue is fixed.

The Dredge release completely shut down the Onryo

Currently there's a high chance to meet even the Demogorgon, a paid killer they retired from the game. There's a high chance to even find Tricksters dressing Feng Min cosmetics. Change my mind, since Dredge come out, he killed Sadako becouse his power works in the same way but better. This is not fair, I main her even if she's weak. I watched Ring (Ringu) the first time accidentally when I was 10, after that, I got shocked becouse I never saw horror movies before, and not able to sleep for an entire night. However, at 17, I was able to enjoy all Ringu movies with no problems, and I fall in love for the saga. (Ringu keep in mind, not The Ring)

Comparison in their map control skills:

Onryo: TVs can be turned off, preventing her teleport;

Dredge: Can just block locker but this action won't stop him, then, the block can be removed by swinging at the locker.

Comparison in their chase skills:

Onryo: just basic M1 killers mindgames.

Dredge: forcing you out of the loop by faking the teleport. In some situation, his locker teleport also allow you to catch up quickly.

They are on same power level on just one thing: jumpscarying people. But Dredge is way more functional in all other aspects. We got a paid killer from a well known TV saga, and we really want to let her die becouse Dredge overpower in all aspects?

My solution would be to just buff Sadako. An idea would be to make Exposed for 60 seconds those who turn off the TVs, and get them spotted by killer istinct for 7 seconds. What do you think?

Currently I'm, playing both Onryo and Dredge more often, bc I'm actively leveling them and due to the event i get a high number of flans by that. And although I know about such comparisons and would agree with them, I cannot really say that I get better results with Dredge than with Onryo. Or that the games with Onryo are more difficult.

Your buff aims in the wrong direction, I think. Using TVs is already pretty rare in my experience (I usually don't use a single one when facing her). So such a thing like exposed would reduce this interaction even more. There's just no need to use the tapes in most cases. So thats the thing we need to change.

I agree that TV interaction is almost nonexistent unless you force them to start with a tape, and even then that doesn't do much. There should be more of an incentive to turn them off, such as the longer more TVs stay on, the more condemned builds. I think having condemned build up should also inflict certain status effects, such as Oblivious, Exhausted, or Blindness, to further incentivize TV use.

Also I think the cool down on TP is much too long to be utilized effectively, along with their RNG placement.

These solutions seem more like a nerf rather than a buff but whatev.

I agree that leaning more into Condemned seems the way to go to buff/differentiate Onryô. Make it easier to build up and tweak the results accordingly. Maybe make the instant mori something for death hook like Executioner

Just give the condemn a passive build up when tvs is on.

I'd like them to make the tvs a bigger part of the trial, remove the condemned buildup on teleport, remove the absurdly long teleport cooldown and instead let active tvs give passive condemned buildup when survivors are within their radius

And still, I enjoy Sadako more.

We currently have the passive condemned build-up when holding a tape. I wonder if thats the wrong approach, and we should rather have passive comdemned build-up when near an active tv. Maybe the tape would then trigger the status effects, but no longer increase condemned. And when fully condemned you are exposed either way, plus moriable when holding a tape.

regarding the dredge, i saw that when you teleport to a locker and a survivor was close to it, it grabbed the survivor. I didnt see this in the description of his power?

The power isn't the best but I love playing Onryo for the sounds. Very satisfying to me

And its quite punishing that inserting the video tape instantly wipes away 4 whole stack of condemnation. How about leaning more into the aspect of passing on the curse? IE survivors with too high condemnation can slip the video to another survivor, or chose to not be the traiter and suffer for the good of the group. Could lead to some pretty interesting paranoia interactions between the survivors. Distrust. Discord. Disharmony.

The hate for Onryo is kind of absurd (she lower mid-tier at worst), but Dredge is definitely what she should have been.

There is definitely some recency bias, but it's like BHVR created a killer just to highlight the mistakes they made with the previous one. Unless they plan on giving all future killers a tp power, it was odd to go back to back with them like that.

That said, Onryo has the best aesthetic/sound design in the game, imo. And she absolutely can and should be fixed.

I first said I'd play onryo just to have fun in the game again

I then said I'd play her if she's good.

I then said I would not be playing her.

Sadako is a "stealth killer", but has a lullaby as big as her terror radius. Her power is basically teleports for map mobility, but survivors can turn it off at will. She has a passive flicker to mindgame in chase but has to slow herself down to deal damage. She can use her teleport in chase to get ahead but most tvs are already in a loopable place and the teleport has a directional audio cue so survivors can simply move away. She can apply condemned status to potentially mori someone but survivors can easily reduce stacks that take the entire match to apply. She has a small size so she's harder to spot but her POV is closer to the ground so she sees less.

Literally all of Sadako's "strenghts" have huge drawbacks that completely negate them. To say nothing about the fact that she is a m1 killer in the age of validated Dead Hard and a hit and run killer in the Circle of Healing meta.

Why even bother spending cash on a license if the licensed killer is going to be castrated into meme status from the get go
