This event is really harsh.

So when this first started I made a post about trying to keep the event chill for everyone and just try to share good vibes. So much for that.

My killer matches end under 6 minutes without 4 slowdowns, and survivor matches are facing 4 slowdowns on blight and nurse.

There is literally no winning. If I try to let survivors have a chill match they end it before I can even get BP, basically wasting my flans and walking out with no crown. If I don't run the survivor meta I'm tunneled and slugged the entire match. Same story.

I really do not need those perks for more than half of my games. But this event has been ######### insane and highlights the worst of dbd. The amount of times I've been sent to The Game or RPD and get rolled by mid survivors. I can be downing them fast, but that doesn't matter if they're split up, or putting 5 miles of distance between us, or even just playing on a rigged map.

I've tried to stay positive, and I normally don't get this way while playing. But it has been hell. Damned if you do or damned if you don't.

Yea that's a huge reason I've ignored survivor for the most part. I don't like having to sweat against killers and the fact that you can get them much easier as killer doesn't give me much of a reason.

I have been trying to have super chill matches, but the mechanic of survivors having to escape to get their invitations really makes them sweat. Games have been ending in about the same amount of time, and I feel I have wasted a lot of flan. No more playing chill for me. It is time to dust off the pile of bones.

Bruh, it's great, you are the type of person that is never happy/grateful for anything that anyone or community does to make an experience better.Toxicity and sweating happens in dbd no mathere if there is an event. Just get over it .

Ima add this edit because you actually seem like a pretty chill dude and I don't mean to sound toxic or aggressive in any way, I'm just conveying the point of that you think that this event is causing these matches but it's actully event or not that's how many matches go and people need to get over that and enjoy the good matches.

BRUH another edit, sorry I thought your title said trash, so I got a lil triggered. My bad

I feel you. I (like many others) also made a post about how bad this event has been. It's been . . . rough.

It's alright. But the sweat has been a lot worse than usual. Noticeably worse. I'm more upset that I have to put up with trolls along side the stress when the game hasn't been this bad for a while. I'm mad that people who very obviously cannot compete with me in actual chase win because I can't reach them without walking for 15 seconds. Then watch them run to the opposite side of the map after a hit. That I lose 3 gens because people are splitting the pressure on gens. Is it the best way to play? Without a doubt. But that doesn't prevent it from being a bad experience. And I feel like my time investment isn't worth it because every game is like this.

Normally I'd take a break and come back. But I want to participate in the anniversary. I want to celebrate with the community. Instead it seems like the bonus bp and free cosmetics have only incentivized the worst aspects of the gameplay.

I'm really sorry that a lot of the matches have been frustrating. I do wish that it didn't have to be that a survivor had to escape to earn the reward, since the killer gets it regardless. That's just my suggestion. Whether or not the game was won or lost, at least a reward is given for playing during the anniversary event, doing the best that you can, etc.

I would never use a flan in solo Q btw, imagine dying to an early camp or slug with 5k BP and rewarding killer with double points, stupid design next event please do offerings that only double your own points

Can confirm. Had been send 6x to The Game today. The 2 times I played Amandas Letter pig were still fun, though, but usually the survivors are up to no good when they burn mean location offerings.

Am I the only one that has still been getting the cosmetics even when I die before the exit gates are opened?

LOL I had a chill Nurse recently who I basically just stuck with for the entire match. It was SoloQ so as expected, the other Survivors weren't having anything to do with cooperation. Towards the end, I let her hook me as the other three Survivors watched... and then ran off. She just looked back and forth shaking "No" and then messaged me. She felt so bad that my teammates left me on first hook. Honestly, how could I even be mad at her? Survivors... y'all really need to settle down.

I chill with my Doctor and get about 90-200 k each match. Feels so good.

Atm i play with Distressing, Thrill of the Hunt, BBQ and Undying. Just shock, lots of chase, some hits, some kicks, try 4+ hooks, completely enough. Mostly don´t kill anybody.

I think that's largely because most events end up like this. They need to be designed in a better way so people aren't trying to end the game in 5 mins.

And this is why I value kills over BP. Couldnt give two craps about hooks, and I can get even more creative with the misery I spread in game. Events are always funny for a Killer like me

I remember, back in the dayyyys (3 years ago), when people would farm like crazy during events or bloodhunts, and in the first anniversary event that had crowns, killers would let survivors go if they had those fireflies around them, so they could unlock their crowns.. I got all my survivor crowns in one day because most games, the killers were happy to get their crowns and just let survivors go.. not anymore.. no one farms anymore, event or not, double points or not, 5 streamers/cakes/flans or not..

I'm not saying people SHOULD farm during these things, but you used to see it a lot, not anymore. People prefer stomping the opposition than having "fun"

Sadly even if everybody uses flan I gave a difficult time finding the invite as killer if I ever do. I'm trying to p3 my favorites killers so I lack bbq on them now but I do have the occasional game where survivors goof off. I only start to slaughter them if they are too inefficient so they got the message to finally finish the last 2 Gen's so we all can move on.

But there are games with turbo immersed survivors so I only see 1 or 2 but the others are ghosts until the gates are powered at times.

Killers don't even need to tryhard this time around yet a lot of them are acting like they need too. Survivors I understand because they have to escape but killers just need to get the event item once and they're clear.

Anesthetically the event is awesome but plenty people are still left out to rot

I mean i don't get this though. Is anyone FORCED to run cakes? do the cakes disappear when the event is done? Like for me personally? Soon as I get a midwich offering I use it. therefore no cake. This is an issue?

  • Marcavecunc
    Marcavecunc Member Posts: 2,057

yeah you're right.. and one thing that makes it worse is, from what i gathered, survivors who grabbed the invitations don't glow for anyone else but themselves.. so it makes it harder to know which survivor to let escape vs who to kill

That's if you can find the stupid invite before the survivors leave....

  • VikingDragonXii

They should of done it like the Chinese New Year event with the envelopes... everyone has their own envelope and you use items to show yours to you at the beginning of the match.....if they did it that way then it would be a more chill game. I don't even remember it being very toxic during that event

Im so sorry , I know what your talking about this event is totally unfair to both sides. If your a killer you get gen rushed every match and get little to no blood points , because you can't get kills and every survivor is running strong preks that you can't beat.

If you a survivor you can't even keep the blood points you win if you don't escape the match , which is totally unfair and I don't even play survivor, but i feel bad for them. This event is trash, and I wish it would end

People just like to have 5x during the event so you can get a good BP payout at the end regardless of the outcome, you'll get at least 100K if you do objectives, saves/hooks etc; which will allow you go through 2/3 complete bloodwebs, securing multiple flans/items for what only cost you 1 for that trial. People just want to make the most of farming them while they can, but like you said it's in no way required, it's completely up to the person what they want to do and how they want to play, event or otherwise.

Sadly every event is like this... Since the beginning of anniversary events... If there is a reward for survivors to escape killers make sure no one escapes, slug, tunel and camp... And survivors don't trust anyone so they slam gens and leave, usually not even saving the person on a hook.

It's how it always will be unless some proper mechanics are implemented..

The envelopes were almost good, but the playerbase ruined it. The problem was, players could grab envelopes that weren't theirs before the owner could get to it, completely consuming the thing and granting the owner a paltry number of Bloodpoints. That was poor design, because a lot of players stopped doing anything except rushing in to steal everyone else's envelopes. The envelope shouldn't have been available to anyone else until the owner revealed it. The way event gens worked only made things worse. Burning Lunar event offerings quickly lost its luster when the only people profiting were the ones not burning them.
