Is the new Pharmacy perk going to have a “rummage” interaction?
If not, the you STILL have to search chests early to save your item from Meg! And you’ve gotta get yourself injured quickly to boot!

You can just run No Mither then you guarantee a medkit for every search from the beginning!

That's what I thought they meant at first too, but no, it's still searching the chest. I have literally no idea what they were thinking with this "buff".

Exactly. It should have had the rummage buff on it too. Chests are usually just randomly opened by solo queue players, so when you get hurt and are running Pharmacy, you'll be screwed.

Dang, this is actually a nerf. In its current state, you can at least search a chest early and squirrel the medkit away behind a tree somewhere. After the change,you’ll be outta luck by the time you need it!

Yeah I thought when this was in the list they were going to turn it into a rummage perk like Residual Manifest, but I'm wondering if there's some technical reason/limitation around equipping both Residual Manifest/Pharmacy at the same time that makes it not currently possible?
If it is possible, maybe it was down to design and rummaging giving you a flashlight when you want a medkit would be frustrating? Or vice versa?
I suppose if that's the case, Pharmacy always giving you a medkit when injured allows the player to make that choice, i.e. get a team-mate to heal you if you want the flashlight.
