Freddy's Old Animations Should Back
This soul animation was one of the things what made Freddy unique. Returning Old Freddy animations doesnt make a gameplay change for current Freddy but at least he would more unique than his current state.

I feel like a lot of people are nostalgic for old freddy, but old freddy was so awful to play and absolutely got beat up by everyone, he would not be well off. Even back then old freddy really really struggled with generator protection and was prone to having all generators being done very very quickly, you really think he will be able to do well now?

Yeah, the only thing old freddy was good at was tunneling, because when you are in the dream state, only you can get hit, so awake survivors couldn't body block you.

I wish they would bring back the soul animation when you put a dream snare or pallet

Sorry I was replying to the other people who were saying how much they missed old Freddy and how he should come back I forget to use the quote feature a bit sometimes lol. Yeah, I agree with you some of his animations were super neat, wonder why they did away with all of them and didn't incorporate some in his rework.

Old freddy should come back in a way. His dream world should be buffed, but made to where his skill relies in keeping survivors asleep. He should also keep the dream projection ability. Current freddy is just miserable and has like 2 good addons.

Nobody disagreed that Old Freddy was confusing and OP for new players and overly weak with a lot of nuances that survivors could take advantage of…but we did not expect such a complete overhaul of the Killer, we expected some improvements to his kit or some changes to help new players cope with his power more simply. He didn’t deserve to be replaced, just tweaked.
Also we are in a day and age with nearly 30 killers, the latest one having the power to basically teleport everywhere and damn near blind you. I think people could handle a blinking in and out Freddy…ya know that crazy thing spirit and Onryo do now lol.
Freddy was an odd-ball, but he was our odd-ball and this new guy is an imposter xD

The fact that devs even made his animations so dull. You can see Old Freddy had such a cool soul animations but they completely removed from the game. Literally nobody complained about his animations but they decided to remove.

TBH, after your reminder and picture of Freddy’s old soul animation, I reflected on my extensive time playing Old Freddy. That was something gone that I never really put much thought into but now I miss it too. It was a nice little animation that I took for granted. I have that soul animation burned into memory, that stand still picture basically came to life the moment I saw it and I heard Freddy’s chuckle in my head.
I think it’s been a few years now since change, I always like to pretend one day DbD will add a Robert England skin and hype it up but then we find out that it’s Old Freddy (but tweaked) and we could have both :P

I think being able to manually pull survivors into the dream world now would be very beneficial. Instead of waiting for a survivor to fall asleep or having to hit them, you can get more use out of your puddles or pallets by just putting them to sleep yourself.

I miss Old Freddy and that animation. Un general, on-releade Freddy just needed a few tweaks and he would have been fine. He has lost his uniqueness in his current state
