Just played on Garden of Pain.....
Ok finally played on the Garden of Pain map as both Killers and Survivors.....a visually stunning map but my god it's the most clustered nightmare of all time....and that's the Dredges map!?
This map proves one thing.....BHVR needs to take a MAJOR look at map design and how things spawn in.

I Actually think the only real problem is the damm house. 3 god windows 3!!! you can legit create an infinite

I have gotten stuck on random objects as Killer and all those LoS blockers is insane.

It is massive and full of safe pallets. A killer without a mobility power and/or anti-loop may as well go stand in a corner.

I know I mean like I said I love the design of the map but what were they thinking..... Dredge should be able to dominate on its own map but even then it has issues.

I think it's well balanced, The only real issue is the house considering that there's like 3 windows that can create infinites.

Garden of Pain can be even worse than Eyrie of Cringe for some killers. Ridiculous

See I don't have too much issues on Eyrie if survivors want to go up the tower I'll just slug them up there.

I faced against a ghostface my first time in the map. I was able to run the ghostface far longer than I should due to the structure formation and despite being their obsession they frequently dropped chase thanks to the generous long short height structures and pallets. I'm not even that good a survivor when it comes to chases.
Ended with a 2 man escape because a cocky teammate was waiting a bit too far from the barrier and was dropped by noed.

I think the windows of the main building are not the only problem of that map as a lot of people claim. It also have very good pallets around that building which can be connected with the windows and also, at least the few times I've played it, the center of the map have some good pallets well connected.
I don't trust the map design team of this game anymore, they did a good job with the new Haddonfield but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

It's hilarious how this game is going into it's 7th year and so far I've only seen one map where I think I can win fairly with each killer, and that's midwich. Every other map feels like a chore to play on.

I think there's a lot of problems with map balancing in this game, and it's one of their biggest issues. Yeah they look nice, but they're pretty imbalanced one way or the other.
One of the main issues is the way they handle loops. Instead of loops that are 50/50 and can be mind gamed or used as a way to outskill your opponent, they're taking a lot of safe loops that cannot be mind gamed, and they're just stringing them together.
A lot of them are extremely safe and your only two options is to either break the pallet immediately or bloodlust to get a hit. By the time you break the pallet they're already at another loop and you have to repeat the process just for them to go to yet another loop. And some of these maps are so filled with these safe areas and loops that you could do this all game and they'd still have safe areas after the gates are opened.
Then you have maps where one side is packed full of 12 pallets and 4-5 Windows, and then the other side has 2 Windows, no pallets, and nothing for safety.
But instead of balancing maps to make loops more reasonable, they're buffing breaking speed and hit cooldowns in the hopes that it'll make up for the terrible balance most maps have.

I hate the iron bushes the map has. I thought we got rid of the iron bushes when haddonfield was reworked but nah they are back and they are everywhere. That mainhouse is dark and so many good windows in it.

Get rid of the ones on yamoka estate too lol. Like you have some you can pass through and some you can't, and you never know which ones which lol

I agree.I think maps are the most problematic thing in the game.
Garden of pain is both a pain for survivors and killers.
I feel sad to say this, but behavior after all these map reworks and all the complains about old haddonfield, they should know what the community asks.
But i guess we love an infite window surrounded by two god pallets and a dead zone.
Coldwind shack has by far the most annoying items in it.
And In all maps I get stuck on invisible spots or a piece of small wood in the wall.
Some loops has those hands insidethe walls (i think autoheaven) ,I remember as huntress I missed a shot cause of the hand that was hanging through the wall. Obviously i threw a hatchet and I couldnt even see the hand at that time
Also as Bubba and Legion I got stuck on that ######### and as survivor I remember I noticed, and i had to turn right and then use my dead hard.
Many many maps have random items that you always get stuck on.

It is bad map for m1 killers, anti-loop killers can perform well maybe. It is weird but i had really hard time against Trapper on this map.

Garden of Joy is pretty much Gideon Meat Plant 2.0. You have a million pallets, a few god windows and Shack. Perfectly balanced :)

worst map. you can't see survivors because there are too many hiding places and you need to check them all . corn and swamp maps also suck.

No, it's not the only problem. Yes the main building is absurd but a map this big shouldn't have this many safe pallets either.

Garden of joy and eyrie of crows show that even after 6 years the devs don’t have grasp of map design. This isn’t an RNG thing either the main building has 3 guarded god windows

Is it really that bad? I cannot recall any god pallets on that map. In fact the map is pretty small which is what people have been asking for
0 -
At least two: killer shack, and on the porch of the house. I haven't even had time to explore the whole map yet, but those two are god pallets off the top of my head.

wow two strong pallets really broken ya'll
With the exception of those two, the map is full of average loops, but they're chained together. Its a heck of a better approach compared to Crotus Prenn.

You specifically mentioned not "recall[ing] any god pallets". Forgive me for answering according to your comment. Others above are commenting about god windows, and I've seen the map size a couple times myself to see how busted it is. But you do you.

It has been well known by basically everyone in the community on both sides that the devs have either no idea or no desire to make a balanced map. I mean 1 god window is to strong but the devs typically put 2-4 god windows in each main building, a lot of the times without even their favorite breakable walls to go along with them. I could rant for hours about it but you get the idea.
