The Midwich Hooks
Am I the only one who is having issue with the hooks on this map? I swear there are literally less hooks that I can't hook survivors. When I down a survivor in a hallway, there is literally no ######### hooks IN A ENTIRE CORRIDOR. Basement is far away too. And no, they are not sabotaging hooks, hooks just don't exist. Anyone had the same problem?

You are not the only one.
Midwich has the worst and most RNG hooks spawn than any other map.
Sometimes it will give you just 1 hook on one floor and 2 hooks on the other floor. If you kill someone where is just 1 hook, you are pretty much ruined.

Was it this bad before? I have more than 1,500+ hours but I haven't played for 3 months and everything was fine then. Is this the fault of Roots of Dread chapter?

No, it is like this for very long time. The map didn't changed in terms of hooks as well for the past months.

As a killer I'd say this the only map where survivors can actually use sabo to actually prevent a hook, every other map has hooks every ten meters.

Indeed.

Nah. RPD and sometimes Lery's have areas where you can only reach one hook from your current location, especially once you commit to a direction.
But Midwich is the only one where sometimes you'll pick up a survivor and there is no hook in reach, even before sabotage or death hooks come into play. The algorithm is atrocious when it comes to judging vertical distance. Even the center area causes issues because it thinks everything's a-OK if there's hooks on the other side of the wall, so the courtyard or the adjacent halls sometimes end up bereft while the other area has them in abundance. When it's the north or south hallway and there's no connection to the courtyard... yeah.
