The Skill Based Match Making is not good.
How can the SBMM still be junk for years? Me and my friend have over 600 hours on this game. I am level 236 (Devotion 2) and he is level 110 (Devotion 1) We get teammates or killers that are definitely not our skill. We have this one teammate hiding in lockers. It feels like the SBMM is just junk. If this continues I might have to stop playing the game because of this problem.

No matchmaking is going to be perfect, there are common situations where you can be matched against someone above or below your skill level simply because it has no other good option. For instance, if a veteran player is in a swf with a friend who has never played before, then the game has to keep them together regardless of how matchmaking works and it will inevitably mean either the new player is totally outclassed by the killer or the killer is outclassed by the veteran. Also if someone has an outlier rating the game can’t as a practical matter make them wait 20 minutes for a match, eventually it has to put them in a game against whoever has a spot. And of course there’s the backfill issue where you have a lobby that was filled but someone dropped at the last moment so it needs a replacement ASAP to avoid having four players waiting a long time.

There is no skill in MMR. Its just a win/lose rating. The utmost poor design possible.

I mean thats still pretty low level

It was something developed by the devs the devs have stubborn egos that's why they lost so many players last year because of mmr but they wont let it go because of foolish pride. Same reason they are going to lose a bunch of players this year unless they fix this awful update,

I have 2200 hours and I have less than 50 hours players in my lobby. They stand still when I'm downed, then they hide in a locker and I die.
But that's the weekend for me.

That's exactly the problem with SBMM in DbD.

I would wait longer to get better teammates. At night you can understand that it takes too long because nobody is playing.

Well that happens when the soften the matchmaking criteria in exchange for faster queue times.
The ybasicly disable the matchmaking to a degree for better queue times.

It often OK but it really sucks after 23:00. I was just matched against a team that had only acquired one skill : doing gens. I got so bored I've left the game right after downing the second one. I was so bored my eyes were closing. I really should learn to refrain from playing late

"Skill based" in a game largely driven by perks and map tile RNG.

SBMM has never been good in any iteration since they introduced it, yet somehow it's gotten even worse over time.
