Why are people so obsessed with anime ?

and why do they want it everywhere ? like the cosmetics now, why would anyone want that?

I get it cartoons are nice, you have fun watching them, etc. but I would hate for bhvr adding DuckTales or Bravestarr or Biene Maja Cosmetics to the game because it doesn't fit the game,

it's the same with all the anime stuff ... Jesus will I be chasing Survivors in Pokemon Costumes next?

People watch anime as form of escapism. There can be conventions were fans can interact and make friends. So there's no harm in that type of sense.

I will say though that AoT does fit the horror theme. It's not straight horror but more "horror-adjescent". It has a lot of gore and morbid scenes of characters dying.

I think it is over exaggerated how much people like anime. Think about it, people go crazy for all sorts of things. Take sports for example. I think anime just happens to be one of those things people can get excited about.

Exactly! It's JUST like sports! Just something to look forward to a new season of. But it's kinda like movies and books, you have to find you niche genre.

Also, I think if anything get's added to the game, it needs to fit's the game's style. Someone mentioned adding Scooby Doo to this game because it was a "scary mystery cartoon". I would hate if they just plopped the characters in, but if they added like Velma's shirt and skirt it's basically just another outfit. I mean come on, Legion chases people in Bunny outfits. XD

A little bit of an oversimplification? Realistically AoT is a MASSIVE fan base and Dbd has likely attracted quite a few new players already. To them it's business, to others it's a fun crossover of two things they like.

More things like this will happen in the future whether you like it or not. Just at least understand the difference between a greedy duck that swims in gold and giant monsters biting people in half for their spinal fluid

Why are people so obsessed with sports?

Why are people so obsessed with movies?

Why are people so obsessed with horror movies even?

Why are people obsessed with fishing? I know I'm obsessed so I demand a fishing themed chapter Behavior!

Aside from that, everyone likes something, even if isn't at the obsessed level which a lot of aren't at that level. Surprise. Be it sports, movies or something obscure, someone likes it all the same as anime.

    because anime is amazing??

and you could argue alot of the licenses dont fit the dbd lore but here we are not complaining about it like we should.

Lumping all anime together is like lumping all American films together. There are just as many genres in both. Equating Pokemon with Attack on Titan is like equating Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory with 1987's RoboCop. While you could show RoboCop to young children, I wouldn't recommend it.

Animation in Japan is not the same as animation in America. Just like there are different movies and books for adults and children in America, there are different anime and manga for adults and children in Japan. Anime is not necessarily what Americans consider "cartoony," and there's lots which fall into the horror genre or deal with very mature topics.

If you're asking why Attack on Titan is in DbD... 🤷‍♂️ I don't get it either personally, honestly. I haven't seen the show but I've heard it's great, but at the same time it's people fighting giant monsters attacking the city. It's kind of like shoehorning Godzilla or Pacific Rim into the game, it feels like a mismatch. But whatever, I'm not the target audience obviously, if people want to play in those skins and use those charms that's fine by me. 🙂

As far as anime in general goes, there's probably some decent actual horror based anime candidates out there that could make for fun dlc. Heck, Resident Evil and Silent Hill are kind of anime-ish already.

P.S. On a tangent I Googled "Horror Anime" and among the listings it included Fantasia and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Go home, Google, you're drunk! 😄

Honest opinion the outfits were crap, I don't get where it came from or why? and it did not fit in with the genre of a so called horror game play.

Anime covers a great many genera for many age groups and audiences. A lot of people like it and it's only natural that they would want to see things from their interests included.

No different than the group that wants classic films killers (like Chucky or Jason) to be added and the group that wants more modern internet based figures (like Slenderman or someone from FNaF).

DuckTails, Bienne Maja, Bravestarr and Pokemon aren't a good comparison. There's a world of difference between them and stuff like the works of Junji Ito (Tomie, Uzumaki, Hellstar Remina) or series like Another and Parasyte.

Attack on Titan isn't my cup of tea and seems like an odd fit for BbD. After thinking about it a bit, I realized it does have something interesting to add. Kaiju/Giant Monsters are a classic horror genre and the two Titans being added as skins is a cool nod to that genera that keeps DbD focus on killers. Being skins they avoid the giant monster that won't fit the map problem.

There's also a cool bit of lore implications of The Entity being able to interact with worlds that diverge quite a bit from Earth.

To be fair stranger things isn't much of a horror series and it still made it to dbd.

The internet means we see an abundance of certain kinds of "otaku". It might feel like it's a cult but probably no more than previous forms of entertainment that have captured a generation. In the 60s there was Beatlemania, for example.
