So since they went back on their word about the incentives making up for BBQ and WGLFs removal...
Can we all agree that the grind is undoubtedly worse now? They should've just listened to everyone saying to remove perk tiers. Would've been much better than whatever the heck this all is.

They haven't gone back on their word, they have to fix an issue as it wasn't working. I'm sure they will give everyone bonus bloodpoints as a reward for patience.

It's BHVR logic. They're reducing the grind by making the grind endless.

BHVR said in another post that the incentive was only ever to fix queue problems and that it was never going to be an always active thing. They also have no plans for double BP during this time or anything.

DbD was never expected to have the lifespan it has, and as a result it's a house built on sand (spaghetti code).
At some point I hope the whole thing is rebuilt from the ground up.

Their prolonged lifespan is because they have no real competition. They can get away with lying to their entire player base and making the grind worse.

I think the grind is worse for some people, and a lot better for others, though it's far from perfect either way you look at it.
But yeah, generally speaking the lack of competition leads to a lack of urgency when it comes to addressing problems.
