Self Care was stronger than Circle of Healing WHAT?!
How is Self Care overpowered when Circle of Healing isn't? Why the former got gutted, but the latter didnt need any changes? I don't understand

It wasn't that it was overpowered, it's that it was statistically used a ton according to the dev's stats (I rarely saw it personally). Although CoH is in a good spot imo. It takes a good amount of time to heal yourself unless someone is healing you, but then that's two or more people not doing gens so that is okay in my book. Still, Self Care shouldn't have been nerfed.

IMO the self care nerf was a bad call. For a single survivor, I think self care SHOULD be stronger than COH. The trade off with COH should be a weaker heal that everyone can use vs SC’s stronger solo heal. Otherwise, why would you ever bring SC over COH?

Self care shouldn't be more powerful than coh, though. Coh can be shut down temporarily by the killer and you have to be in position for the heal. Self care is a personal heal anywhere. If self care was strong, there's no point in running coh. Coh at least has its own risks and limitations.

I guess I just don’t see the boon tradeoffs (temporarily breakable, only heal in a specific radius) as big enough to warrant that. But I don’t really run either so I admit I could be wrong.

But doesn't circle of healing give you the ability to self care so its been nerfed to take ~30 seconds

Self Care was probably one of the most slept on Survivor perks. To have a heal on demand without any requirements is nothing to scoff at.
Sure CoH provides team wide heals, how ever people forget to take into account:
- Having to place down the Boon.
- Having to run over into its radius every time you get injured
- Finally going through with the heal.
- Running back into the play area
When Im playing killer I always try to have a "territory". Going for a mid to late game play with 3 or 4 gens in mind and I dont really venture out too far from it, unless an opportunity arises. If a Boon is set up away from there I just leave it, Survivors waste so much time just going back and forth healing and they dont even realize it.
When a Boon is set up in my territory how ever, I try to find it as fast as possible. Since then Survivors waste a lot less time going back and forth healing, making it a lot harder to snowball. I also waste a lot less time stuffing the boon since Im not really going out of my way to get rid of it.
TLDR: Self Care slept on, CoH overrated

Self-Care is probably the one perk that has suffered the most, even though it was in a good spot for most of its existence.

Nah. It says "self-care" because that's the name of the act of healing yourself without any items, but it's not actually giving you the perk Self-Care. It's still a 24s heal compared to Self-Care's 32 and now 45.
The only reason to nerf it was to get people to stop using it. It was perfectly balanced as it was.

Not stronger, more reliable. Self-care could be used on demand without the need to set up a boon. It didn't need to be nerfed since it was already fairly weak. All the nerf has done is pushed survivors into alternatives like CoH.

I thought it would change along with it, interesting

Solo-queue players should have default Kindred and Self-Care. I think that would fix the massive escape game between SWF and Solo-Queue and as bad as solo-queue is right now, it's probably a good time to do it.

Yeah, CoH "self care" prompt is probably leftovers from code, they probably reused a lot of Self-Care code for CoH, as you say CoH takes the same amount of time it took before the update.
