Fixated is great, use it
(For clarification, Fixated got renamed to "Self-Aware" after the removal of Stranger Things, i would rather pretend that the chapter that got me into playing DBD and played host to my favourite killer ever was never removed in the first place, so i refuse to call it that)
After 6.1.0 went live and Spine Chill and Iron Will were nerfed, i figured I'd experiment with a few new perks to see what i like, surprisingly enough, i started really enjoying Fixated and it's kind of hard for me to put into words why i do
i'll start with the biggest reason, my biggest problem with playing survivor, and the main reason why i use Lithe instead of Sprint Burst, is that the default walking speed is so goddamn slow, so end up running everywhere, which means i get spotted very quickly and usually make Sprint Burst completely wasted on me, Fixated boosting that molasses speed by 20% feels so much nicer, and i don't spawn scratchmarks either, meaning i can get to where i want or need to be faster and safer
and the 2nd reason is just how much that 20% faster walking actually lets me get away with, i get around walls and cover faster, i make more distance from the killer when i want to recover some of my exhaustion, i can hide easier because i get further away from my scratch marks, it really is hard to put into words how much i love this damn perk now, so i leave you with only 5 of them
Fixated is great, use it

Eh, it's a meh info perk at best, when you can run other good perks

still more useful to me then Off The Record that's for sure

It happens exactly the same thing to me, I may as well start using it.

You can also use it to drop bloodlust mid chase, obviously situational but that is what draws me to it.

It's a great stealth perk. I have used it multiple times to escape killers and stay hidden

There's a bunch of good stealth perks like this one that never saw any play because "don't fear the killer, just run out in front and never go down" was the easiest way to play.
I'm glad there's some push to actually make other builds engaging.

I've also tested a couple new combinations and Fiaxed/Self-Aware + SB has become a go-to very quickly. Overcome + Lucky Break was a close contender but in the end I chose a SB + Fixated/Self-Aware combo - mostly because SB is more readily available than Overcome. I also played around with adding Lightweight and Vigil and for now Vigil has stuck. As far as the "have been found by the killer" situations go that has yielded the best results so far (mind you, up until now I didn't really bother with any focus on chase/exhaustion but went full team-support [Leader, Botany, BT & WGLF or We'll make it]. Did use Lithe in the run-up to the update but that's about it. However, going team-support gets me downed way too quickly if I don't pre-run from miles away & pre-drop at least every other pallet).
Tho. Personally, I wish I find a not-Houdini-build. Because I find this whole hide and seek kind of gameplay pretty infuriating when I play as killer and don't like playing sth on one side that I don't like to face on the other. It's the same kind of annoyance factor as "where is the darn NOED" used to be or the add-on where you can't see Pinheads box. DBD, for me, isn't an easter egg hunt and having to do that for a good chunk of the game is as engaging or fun as holding M1 even longer than before is (looking at you Thana + Eruption/Jolt/Pop/PainRes/whatnot Legion/Plague).

people undervalue its effect at crossroads. If you have a spot where there are multiple directions with obstructed view, hiding scratchmarks and walking one way can make it pretty easy to lose track of someone, at least long enough for them to gain more distance if not losing them outright.
Its certainly a perk that doesn't always click until you go against a good survivor using it, then you see it in post game screen and it suddenly makes sense.
