Does aftercare really need the penalty after being unhooked?

I really think that the perk is strong since you are always guaranteed at least one link. But does it really need the reset penalty? It would make the perk a lot more common. This could help a lot with solo queue.

I think the penalty when being hooked should be taken out.

Yeah, I don't think this perk needs a deactivation. You already have to perform altruistic actions for it to activate on individual survivors so what is then point of the deactivation? And other survivors only see you the entire time, not everyone else like you can so I don't think it would be overpowered over other aura perks if it did not have a deactivation penalty from being hooked.

Yea, because it would be the strongest aura reading perk (Bond, Empathy, etc.) and all these other perks would go to trash bin.

If they want to balance it out, then they should just add a small cooldown to it instead

Instead of resetting, maybe once you're unhooked the perk is disabled for a bit then comes back

That's both creative and balanced. I like this idea and it wouldn't trump over other aura perks that are always on but work in certain conditions.

I like the idea above. Yes it should not have that reset penalty. Instead like the person suggested above it should just get a cooldown then reactivate again

I don't think it needs any sort of restriction. It is a mid to late game survivor perk anyway since you have to slowly get links to your team via healing or unhooking.

I've always wanted to see the reset upon being hooked get removed, but without some sort of downside I feel it would overshadow other aura perks.

Instead of even having a downside/reset, another possibility would be to just increase the difficulty of attaining the auras. An example could be something like only applying when you unhook someone.

It is already hard to get the auras in the first place though, you have to save or heal teammates which happens over the course of the game. You would likely only get two by mid game, and the third by late game.

My only fear with changing it is it would become the old iron will of auras for teammates. Why would you run another aura perk that has limitations on distance ,injured status, time, cooldowns when if you just play altruistically you get perma aura reading that never goes away. I feel like other aura perks would look awful in comparison, and in the future how could they make a new aura perk that wouldn't be awful by comparison?

I don't disagree. Its always been one of my favorite perks but I hardly use it anymore mainly due to the reset upon being hooked. Personally, if the reset was removed I would never use any other aura perk again except maybe kindred for the killer's aura. Maybe thats just me though and i'm in the minority who thinks that way.

Maybe have the requirement be you need to be brought up to fill health after being unhooked instead of a time limit.
