Good Bye DBD and Peeps
I was a day one player, achieved rank 1 both killer and Surv, and used to play with my friends and wifey. This game used to be so much fun to play and now all my friends are leaving, my wife doesn't want to touch the game and I can't blame them with the current state of everything. This patch was a mess in a lot of ways and once again just showed the incompetence of BHVR's Balancing team. Solo Q is a disaster as it's always been, the games just stopped being fun, it's no longer fun on the Surv side for obvious reasons and it's no longer fun on the killer side when people run to you to be hooked and sacrificed. The devs have made a mess of the whole game in general, anyways I wish you all the best to those sticking around and may the entity favor your future games.

I would normally ask how THIS patch was enough to make any day 1 player want to leave, but then I also remembered every other patch was completely survivor sided. So I guess this is technically a first. Lol.

I wouldn't throw in the towel yet - they're likely to continue rebalancing for some time yet and I'm skeptical this patch will be the end-all-be-all of DBD match design. Might be worth checking back in a few months or a year. But either way, good luck out there finding a good new game.

I think there's a lot of streamers that have started saying the same thing, solo-queue is an absolute mess after this patch. So maybe now that streamers are pointing out the problems with this patch and the need to buff solo-queue as a priority, maybe the developers will patch this up by next Tuesday.

Well, you can do both. I swf with my sister and sometimes my homie. Occasionally all three of us, and once we did a 4 man swf with a mutual. That being said, the larger our group, the worse we do as my friend and his friend are pretty garbo. My sister and I are not elite survivors either, but you know, at least we can gen rush. Despite a large portion of my time on survivor being with a swf, the majority of my time was spent solo. The vast majority, really, as my sister usually only does the daily.

i just came back and I also feel nothing is improving the mmr is still universally hated but still nothing has been done solo q is worse then ever it’s almost impossible to have fun when you don’t have friends on to play with

There was that time when hit validation was taking away literally everything. I do not complain here much, but you should have seen me back then. I would cry about it every day and tell them to add vault validation to seal the deal. Not going to lie, I am pretty glad we went back to favor the killer. But I am obviously a wee bit biased. Just a teeny tiny bit. Muahahahaha.

Favor the Survivor was never a thing. Hit Validation was always limited to very high ping. If you live far from servers, have bad connection quality, or have some other network issues, you may have experienced rejected hits, but now it has been changed to be extremely generous to killers. Even those located in Timbouckto, lol

It's always been like that and pallet validation must be checked on the killer side also because if the killer never sees you drop the pallet on their end they can still swing through it completely and not get stunned. Killers should have some leniency, but if your ping is like 200+ it should be straight up rejected.

No, it hasn't, and the threshold is closer to 300, which is exceptionally generous in favor of The Killer. Leniency is another term for favored. The game's entire network foundation is to favor The Killer in perpetuity in every match at the expense of the Survivor. The only exception is a ping of 301 or higher. The game has never favored the Survivor in networking, and killers often abuse this advantage by inducing network conditions to make things easier. Survivors don't even know The Killer's ping to try adjusting to it.

This is something I've been wanting to say for many months after seeing multiple leaving discussions.

Yeah I know many people are leaving this patch. I really want to try and stick it out, but why would I when playing survivor feels like a chore now?
Everything that's even remotely fun on the survivor side gets removed because it's "overpowered" or is used to "bully killers."
Most of us don't want to bully anyone, we just wanted to play a fun game, and now there are no fun mechanics. It's just a gen simulator, with occasional chases and getting tunnelled.

I mean, it'd be like if I went to a Dark Souls forum and started complaining about PvP and how I'm going to quit the games over it since I want to play online but have PvP be disabled.
Now don't get me wrong, I feel for the guy but I can understand where the snark comes from.

I think that's the exact reason why. There's a pretty big difference in the responses based on a persons forum presence since people know them and will be more sympathetic whereas they won't be so kind to strangers.
They've been around since 2018 but with so few posts it feels like they're new and even though I have over 1k posts I bet I'd get similar responses as them since I don't have presence where as people would be sad if you made this post since you're quite well known.
It's almost like a family dynamic in a way. They'll hear out people they're close to while not caring about some random stranger, even though they are both going through the same thing.
Of course there are people sympathetic to a strangers problems like you and people like me who feel for them but also understand when other people don't.
But at this point I'm getting way off the original topic and getting a bit too real over a forum post when it's probably just people enjoy being sarcastic because it's funny in the moment.

With this garbage patch this game has become a paradise for big dummies tunnel/camp (thanks for making the tunnel easier), before the patch it was the teams the problem (because of the vocal) and nothing else.

NGL- this is the first update that has my play time dwindling immensely. I didn’t even care about the 50K for these last few days. That couldn’t have been me 3/4 years ago. I made SURE I logged in, even for just a minute before I left for work- to ensure I collected whatever daily gift was issued. Now is a whole completely different story.
Hopefully things will be ironed out and you and your wife/friends will enjoy the next patch more.

I get the family mindset but I personally don't think that's the case here.
There's a bunch of reasons why people do it but I find it super rude. Just kind of gives me bully vibes.
I'll stop now also mate. I get what your trying to say and I respect it but I just don't think what they're doing is anything other than rude. Literally have a draft saved from few months ago on this topic but never posted it.

But seriously, for some people it's just time to be done. Multiple years and thousands of hours is a lot to put into a game, and I think some folks are already burnt and looking for an excuse. That turnover is gonna happen regardless.

Im enjoying watching the biggest player count drop in 3 years. 30% down on last month, and every friend i know first hand uninstalled the game pre and post patch and havent been back after 1000s of hours. The game has become absolute garbage. People moaning on forums is nothing new and proves nothing, but watching friend irl torally give up and uninstall speaks more volumes to me.
The game only clings on because theres no alternarive but in its current state if a killer wants to tunnel or camp and is at least average skill youre gonna lose and more importantly have a boring game. - this is happening in a huge number of people's games, if not almost all of them for some people. - i can attest to that. Ive given up on it. I just enjoy coming to the forum to read the shits and bants eveyrone has popping off oblivious to whats gonna happen. 🤣
