Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Survivors - that are willing to adapt - are already getting very good with new DH.

For the first few days, survivors would just run in a straight line, activate DH, and go down.

Lately, as a killer main, I've been seeing a lot of skilled plays:

  • 360ing me, and activating in the middle of the 360
  • Activating as I lunge at the pallet
  • Jumping off a cliff, and then standing still for a split second so I hit them on the way down
  • Going out the shack window, but crouching by it for a second "pretending" to hide.

In those situations, if I let my reflexes get the better of me, I eat the DH and they extend the chase. But you know what? I didn't feel bad about any of it - I was usually thinking "wow, skilled play - I have to adapt and up my game to counter that".

So now DH is (still) very useful to the skilled, but has counterplay (and isn't frustrating to face as a killer) - job well done.

That pallet one gets me every time because I always disrespect pallets. Lol.

I also have a lot of success running towards a window/dropped pallet, baiting that I'm about to vault and then DH as they swing to try and reach me.

Usually only works once per match though, but it sure is useful (:

I've used new dead hard to commit to a gen that's like 98%

it's won me games with one gen left

Yeah, when a survivor now uses DH successfully I am angry at myself, because most of the time it was kinda obvious by the way they played that they were baiting a hit, shortly followed by a mental nod to the survivor for a well executed DH, something that would have been unheared off in all my dbd career before.

Played a game against a 4 stack that were all running DH. I was playing Huntress and rolled The Game. Didn't get one hook by the time 4 gens were done so I just DCed. It sucked

Does new DH work against Deathslinger spear gun?

Game servers i play on are too laggy for it to work as a parry, so sprint burst is my preferred perk.

If you can consistently nail the new Dead Hard, good for you. At least I know you timed it properly and didn't just use to reach a pallet or window.

I feel like the new DH sounds pretty cool, I never used old DH because my games as killer (tw : low mmr) showed me a lot of people using it wrong and being downed literally 3 seconds after using it, so I always thought it was not worth it.

I do feel like the endurance could be a few fractions of second longer, and I've heard people are having trouble getting it to activate as soon as they hit the key.

I always try to hit as my DHs on survivors as I can because a 3rd hit means I get 900 brutality instead of 600 and brutality is the hardest category besides sacrifice to max. Sacrifice, of course, can only be maxed by getting end game collapse hooks.

Same with BTs. I will hit every single BT. I MUST get those brutality points. it's what stands between me and 35k+ BP matches.
