Me trying to remember a single time where aim dressing has helped me

Why the hell do we not have an option to turn this off and on. Same thing for the chat censors.

To play devil's advocate, assuming aim dressing's purpose is to make certain attacks look more realistic, you wouldn't notice when it works properly, it would seem like attacks just happened naturally, instead you'd only notice the system in the instances when it produces a weird result like attacking a rock. So there's no way to tell if the system is actually "helping you" because if it did help you it's designed to make it look like nothing out of the ordinary happened in the first place.

Aim dressing is not aim assist. Aim assist helps you get hits you wouldn't have otherwise gotten. Aim dressing will never help you get a hit you wouldn't have gotten, it is there only to make hits look better. That is why you can't turn it off, because it's not exactly for you.

Here's a full explanation from Peanits:

It still feels terrible when a laggy killer swings in one direction and misses. A second later, the hit is registered, and you see The Killer snapped into position to make it look more visually appealing. I can assure you; that there's no amount of visual appeal or aim dressing that can lessen the pain of a fake hit due to killer authority on hits still being a thing.

Yes, it does mess with you. It can absolutely cause us to miss hits we should have gotten. Happens to me all the time. I just said it will never help us. Ever. And we can't turn it off because it's not "for" us. It sucks and I wish the devs would fix it so it stops causing me to hit trees and rocks.

Once, I got auto-aimed into a tree with a survivor standing right in front of me. I stopped chasing so I could beat the ever-loving ######### out of the tree, then the survivors joined and starting pointing at the tree to shame it for it's transgressions.

When you 360 blink lunge as a nurse, I think it is helping.

I've lost so many chases in clutch moments because of this terrible feature specifically on console controller. When I play KBM on my PC I don't have any issues and it becomes even easier for me to track 360s. It needs to be a toggleable thing, not something forced upon people in the future. Not only does it cost you pressure and hooks at the worst moments but it also feels bad when people get gassed up afterwards thinking they juiced you when in reality the game bailed them out and robbed you of a guaranteed hit

I always respect the few times I do get caught off guard with a legit juke but its insanely tilting when the game drags your camera into nearby surfaces or cancels your lunge and swings at the air while rapidly jerking your camera away from the Survivor you're clearly aiming directly at
