Do survivors know when the dissolution perk is active
^^^^ Thanks

Yes, it shows up at the bottom as a debuff similar to mindbreaker, coulrophobia, thanatophobia, etc.

Yes, for some stupid reason.
The perk was BARELY worth anything as printed, but throw in the fact it literally tells the Survivor when it is on and it makes the train to Worthlessville.

It’s not worthless if it entices survivors to take riskier paths away from dropped pallets. The goal of the perk isn’t to actually destroy a pallet with it, it’s to keep survivors from being able to safely vault them in the first place. So if I hit a survivor with this perk, and now nobody can fast vault a nearby pallet for the next 20 seconds or however long it lasts, then I get value when they had the opportunity to vault one but didn’t and I get a hit because of it.
I’m not saying it’s a universally awesome perk or anything. But there’s too many people who think that if it doesn’t literally break a pallet you got no value which isn’t the case.

You are getting SO LITTLE value out of this perk that I would literally rather put every perk in the game on a piece of paper and draw one at random from a hat and run THAT perk instead of this one.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration, I can think of quite a few perks I like less than Dissolution. And in particular I think Dissolution is ok on killers that survivors tend to pre-drop pallets against and who can get back into chases quickly after a hit. So for instance I think Clown running this with STBFL works decently. (Ironically Dredge is a poor choice because the perk doesn’t mesh with being Undetectable. 😞)

Yo get pretty much value out of this perk, BUT the perk isnt supposed to kill all pallets for you, as you think it would do. Youre just expecting something thats not realistic. You force the survivor to not use pallets, which is easier for the killer. Or you force them to waste pallets and make it even easier for you. Nontheless you get pretty good value out of the perk.

Yeah, there is several misconceptions about certain perks and abilities where people believe they should activate on a per game basis and if they dont then they are total garbage.
One big example is Jigsaw traps, nowadays there are not that common but there was a time where people would make threads about "Im not getting any value of RBT traps because nobody dies from them!!" and it didnt matter explaining to them nobody should die from a RBT except extremely fringe cases, the main value was a Survivor wasting certain amount of time getting it off instead of fixing gens, not dying to them.
This perk suffers from it too, you get a hit at a safe pallet now that person either vaults the pallet, breaking it which will almost universally leads to a down or he has to change tile which may lead to a down if the tile is in a deadzone or the close ones are exhausted already, the pallet not breaking doesnt mean you are not getting value out of the perk.

Dissolution is kind of like Bamboozle for a pallet: you force survivors to take another path, in which you can predict this and plan to cut them off, because they know that if they vault the pallet, it will break and they will be downed unless they have Lithe active.

Yep that's what makes it absolute **** all survivors have to do is not vault it and take the down or injury because they would get injured or downed even when vaulting the pallet
