I think this patch shows a LOT about survivors

Actually because killer queues are so long it's killer mains trying survivor for the first time and throwing matches as revenge against survivors, of course I have no proof of this but it's the truth because I said so.
Also every time BHVR have released stats every killer besides 1 or 2 have had over 50% kill rate so either their 2 deaths and 2 escapes has changed or something has drastically changed since January

That can't be true unless BHVR has verified that. It isn't in my experience. I took a very long break and came back with the last patch. And i was getting matched with terrible survivors self caring (with the new one) while the killer has sloppy almost every game. I continued to play well, rarely escaped any matches, (probably 1 or 2 out of 20+ games, i escaped and all of those were through the hatch) and made sure that i did what i could to pip every game.
And as of last night, i am now getting matched with extremely competent teammates who are body blocking at appropriate times, are running good perks, and are generally helping their team and now am escaping probably more often than not. Just today i played 7 games and i escaped in 4 of them, with 3 of them having 3 or more escapes, 1 we only go 2 out. The other 3 i died early due to some mistakes in one of them, and in the other 2 i died during endgame while trying to save a teammate and we still ended up getting at least 1 out.

It is true, just ask anyone who plays the game.

I am aware of it, and I can confidently say that this patch has been very benefitial for survivors and killers alike, moreso survivors, as always, but very benefitial for both. This patch is great to play right now, there are no Omega Nurses, InstaHatchet, InstaChain, Infinite Legion or really any boring combo for survivors. And for killers, gen speeds have finally been adjusted, although I think it's not quite enough and they should probably add 10 or 15 more seconds, but it's a great change nonetheless.
However, killer regression perks have been nerfed. I am aware that survivor perks have been nerfed, but survivors weren't even meant to have perks in the first place, so they are finally where they were supposed to be, and that is a great thing. That means that skillfull players as survivors can finally stop relying on a perk that was always limiting them without them knowing, and allow them to hone their chase skills perkless, which is the goal of the game, after all.

Has BHVR verified this in any place?
0 -
Yeah, 5 minute games are not balanced as well.
4 -
Why does it seem like the only people who are complaining about Killer queue times are the Survivors? Thanks for the concern everyone but it's fine.
1 -
Yes. MMR as survivor only goes up if you escape through the gates. Hatch doesnt count for MMR.
Killers only get more MMR for kills.
4 -
Show where BHVR has announced this or shared this information.
And i mean BHVR, not some guy who "hacked the game files"
0 -
If someone has the source for that, please feel free to share with this guy. I'm too lazy to search for it.
0 -
There is a reply from Mandy in this thread saying hatch does not affect MMR
3 -
So without assuming too much because you are not specific enough.
What exactly was busted? Because arguably the only perk that was "busted" was Dead Hard. That isn't what people are complaining about.
Imagine calling people childish after posting that. At the sound of not offending all the younger players, I'll say if anything it shows YOUR own maturity level.
4 -
Other than dead hard? Holding W heal speeds (which still are busted), the amount of second chances that survivors had, medkits (which are still busted), gen speeds, decisive being able to be used at end game. There are plenty I can list. Also how am I being not mature? The get good argument is exactly the right call here. A lot of survivors are now saying to revert the patch because of killers being too strong.
1 -
Yup
0 -
Past 4 years killrates have been far above 50%... if you say survivors relied on all the "busted" stuff then why were the killrate still so high?
Devs recently said they want the killrates to be higher (because they became close to 50%). Survivors want balance, 50% escape rate. killers want unbalance, 4k's every game and satisfy there weird power-fetish. These survivor "crutches" like DH were ALWAYS part of the coregame balance preventing the escape rates to go too high.
Killrates were about 50-55 pre patch. devs say they actually want an unbalanced game so what do they do? increased cooldown after attack, faster break actions, 10 seconds extra on every single gen, buffing genkick, buffing bloodlust, shorter survivor sprint after hit, and if that wasnt enough they also had to remove/destroy the strongest survivor perks. On top of that this also makes the camping tunneling meta even stronger (the oh so fun part of the game...)
And here you are, saying we are blind because we complain...
These changes were never bound to happen as the game was finally getting close to balance, now for some unlogical reason they want to change this game into a horror game where survivors should expect death every game....
People are quiting, they are coming back here and there just to try it again to end up quiting for good. Lots of main killers seem to say that the player drop is normal after the anniversary and big patch, this is some hardcore coping. people have now had another weekend to test out the patch to realize what a shitshow and unfun bs this game has become. Next 2 weeks you will see some interesting things on the steamcharts, cant wait for it.

You obviously do not play many PVP Games such as APEX or COD or the like if you believe that people should play "Nice" just to accomodate one side.....Wonder how many survivors think about if what they are doing is fun for the killer? Do you go into a match and think "Oh what can i do to make it fun for the killer oh hang about let me let him hook me easily, I won't gen rush or use the brand new part or continually blind him after every pallet till his eyes melt.."
This garbage of people dictating how one side or the other should play the game the way they think they should needs to stop really....If you gen rush me, blind me till my eyes melt and do what it takes to escape the game and win GG to you that is how you play the game. You do not sit in a forum crying about how killers do not play how you think they should.
Sure me personally i do not tunnel nor camp but i also play how the survivors i am going against play against me if they are sweaty as hell i will give them just as much sweat back, if they wish to try to bully or be dicks i will tunnel, camp and slug them i honestly do not care it is a game after all and you get what you give...
You sir are an entitled survivor main

The irony of this situation is that this patch shows a lot about killers as well.
1 -
Oh yeah. SoloQ is all about bullying Killers. Yeah, totally. Very wise insight!
3 -
Kill rates weren't low? They were perfectly balanced at an average 2.55 kills per round?
1 -
Where did I say I was talking about you specifically 💀
1 -
Yup.
When I'm playing Survivor and the killer is doing some straight up oppressive stuff that is just KILLING us, I go "Damn, good job bro" and I start considering how I'm supposed to counter that. I dont ######### start whining because I'm entitled to my escape. I'm entitled to getting hunted down and dying on a hook, myself and anyone who wants to join me needs to figure out how to counter what he's doing. If you can't, adjust your build and try again. That's why I constantly am trying to suggest to Survivors having problems to try and run "general" builds, so you can potentially deal with anything the Killer is throwing at you, with Off The Record IMO being the absolute gold standard
1 -
“Get gud” wow that helps so much in solo que.
0 -
Hold on... you think holding W is busted? Like as in going from one tile to another to avoid getting hit??
My friend, may I remind you that there are anti-loop killers in this game? Artist, Deathslinger, Nurse, Pyramid Head, Nemesis.... Holding W is the proper way to play against them when you consider that pallets aren't really strong against them.
"The get good argument is exactly the right call here"
Imagine thinking you have an argument when you say stuff like that. Like, at least entertain me if you are gonna tell someone to "git gud" , instead of saying things like holding W is busted. 😂
1 -
I literally had a 25 minute game last night because a legion was refusing to chase anyone and kept going back and forth to gens. It's not an exaggeration and is happening often now.
2 -
Those don't exist anymore.
1 -
Yes, actually. Survivors what Killers to play like this, so I do as Killer. Same with Survivor. I do not care if I live or die as Survivor. I also do not care if I Kill everyone or not as Killer. As long as I get pip and my BP, I'm happy. Everything else after I have gotten my PIP is just gravy. Survivors should really learn a lesson from Killers.
Stop setting arbitrary goals for yourself that demand you faceroll the other side. If the game says you won, you won. Be happy with it.
0 -
Say again? This match lasted 4:30 seconds.
4 -
I'm sure this was already said since the thread is 3 pages in, but if we want to generalize even further, we can say that this patch showed a lot about killers too.
"But man!!! We're FORCED to camp and tunnel, or play extremely meta builds, if we want to have a chance!!!!" Well what's your excuse now :l
1 -
That doesn't mean anything. Let's say it works off a point system, and in order to increase MMR you need 3 points. An escape is a point, Good altruism is a point, good objective play is a point, and good chase/evading killer is a point. Saying "Hatch doesn't effect MMR" does not imply that only escaping does, it simply means hatch does not have an effect.
0 -
I never said there were killers who didn't do that. They also have to get good. Y'all are missing the point. Regardless the patch came out a week or so ago. Players aren't gonna change their play styles instantly. however one side is crying a LOT more than the other
0 -
Classic, throw out a claim with no evidence, then when someone asks for the evidence you say "i'm too lazy"
0 -
What I meant to say was they don't exist anymore with a perk loadout filled with gen perks, which is what most killers are running now. Games easily surpass 5 minutes if your entire build consist of slowdowns.
0 -
Thats if survivors allow it. Most slowdown requires kicking gens now which a survivor can stop immediately. The slowdown this patch is only as strong as you let it be
1 -
Actually the game only says I won when it says "escaped".
1 -
Unhelpful comment.
Solo Q was already bad so it's ok if it gets worse - You basically
3 -
I play soloQ and I am doing pretty well and don't feel the problems that many of you guys are experiencing. I guess that its an MMR and skill issue on one hand and am expectation problem on the other. Survivors was pretty chill and relaxed for the longest time; now that you have to throw in your weight in order to survive and things got a bit tougher (but nowhere as tough as killer used to be the entire last year), a lot of the more casual survivor players balk and throw a tantrum.
I would love if something was done to curb down camping, but besides that things are mostly fine.
1 -
But just to be clear, I don't think that it is the lack of bullying opportunity that is angering any number of survivor mains, that's just a minority.
1 -
Killer was already easier than solo q.
0 -
Do you play high mmr soloq, or you never got there by any chance?=)
Killer was INSANELY stressfull before update on high mmr. Every single soloq survivors were running second chance perks, killer just couldn't phisically keep up with gen speed.
Are you sure about killer is easier than soloq? xD
All the killer was: Hoping for survivors to mess up, just for killer to have a chance of winning.
3 -
Sounds like someone needs to git gud at being human. Your experience isn't everyone's experience. Just because your experience is different doesn't mean that everyone else is automatically wrong or lying. Think about that, and then you will realize that being a jerk to those people that are having trouble, is being a bad human being.
0 -
I play crossplay off solo q on PC. There is no way to know your MMR.
0 -
the amount of second chances that survivors had
The game, at base, gives survivors three hookstates, and thus three chances. If you take issue with them having a second chance, that's very much a -you- problem.
3 -
Solo q was always harder than killer. There's no denying that. Killer is the second hardest thing this game has to offer unless you're nurse.
2 -
Also MMR doesn't work. Lol
0 -
That's why I am playing crossplay off, where I only get sweaty people, both killers and survivors. On crossplay on I was getting people with less than 100 hours. Crossplay off mostly is above 1000 hours.
0 -
I've escaped with a Black Pip or a De-pip before. What's your excuse for that? Escape is not winning, getting a PIP is winning. Escape is simply your arbitrary demand for "winning" because you want to shove it in the killers face you got away. If escaping was the only thing that mattered, there wouldn't be PIP system in place to begin with. Try Again.
0 -
Dead hard + Unbreakable + DS made a nearly game breaking combo that an infant could beat killers with. I'm sorry but if you think survivors NEEDED that many second chances then you are not the best. I don't wanna say rude stuff like that but that's simply the truth.
4 -
You can't see numbers, but you can see the ammount of mistakes this survivor making.
As you know, better survivors don't make much mistakes.
0 -
My team mates are doing fine. Most are above 1k hours too. KIllers are also doing fine and it's mostly nurses, blights and huntresses.
0 -
Killer was INSANELY stressfull before update on high mmr.
That's a game design issue too though, not necessarily just a balance issue. The killer is ALWAYS on the clock, and it's always an uphill battle unless you are absolutely demolishing the survivors. This also runs the risk of making many wins feel like losses because they're just frustrating to attain.
