Either you get a lot bitter or sweet memory on this map.
We shall remember it in it glorious form!
Drop your unforgettable memory at RPD here fellow players...
Here is my first one.
Playing Freddy in dream world without seeing the walkway and always bump into the wall hahaha

I'm unironically gonna miss this map a bit.
Did I have a lot of good games on it ? No.
Was it a lot of fun for custom games with friends ? Yeah !

Still sad that players in this game just have to cry enough to get changes. It is not like RPD was common. It was not my favorite Map, but it was refreshing to be on it once in a while.
That being said, I am not looking forward to two small Indoor Maps.

Will the map still be unbearable?
probably

Whiners won. Hard to believe people still didn't learn the map after an entire year.
Still, it will be cool to play those new outdoor parts.

it was probably one of the most hated maps for both sides. Survivors still seem to have trouble finding their way to my hook or doing gens. Killers have trouble moving through it to apply pressure. I am 100% glad its being reworked. It's horrible, fitting for the puzzle game that is RE2 but not for this game.

Yeah, but whenever DBD-players dont like something, the mass-crying starts until it is changed. DBD-players are basically like Babies.
Like, nobody had a horrible gameplay-experience overall if they ended up on RPD once in a while.
And as I said, two small indoor Maps will also be quite miserable to play on. At least for Survivor, cant wait to play against a Nurse on those small Maps. Midwich 2.0 and 3.0...

It's not just learning the map. It's miserable to play on for both sides whether you know the map or not.
To me, it doesn't feel like it was designed for DBD and the gameplay suffers a lot because of that.

To be fair the flow is kinda bad and it doesn't work like any other map which is why it has such a love or hate it reputation. I oddly don't care one way or the other and am very indifferent towards it.
Like most maps you walk towards an aura are going to find what you are looking for or the way to get there fairly quickly. Two story maps which can be a pain for some is just a matter of learning stair locations and those maps do not have many stairs and they are all in fairly noteworthy locations.
RPD is not. Even things on the same level you can run into a wall, then you try find a way around that wall and there's another wall, and another then you realize you had to go around a completely other direction and so much time is lost by then. Some people just aren't good at dealing with that sort of thing and things like sense of direction.

I wonder how gen placement are gonna work with 30ish % of the map being shut down at a time

Mate, you understand that it was a terrible map right?
I mean they arent great at making balanced maps, thats for sure but RPD is something else.

How exactly do you propose devs be aware of changes that players want?
1 -
Gotta get their attention somehow.

I dont think that a Map someone dislikes is not really a problem. It is one Map.
But I understand it, DBD-players have their "I dont like it, change it"-Mentality.

That doesn't answer my question.

My unforgettable memory is being physically unable to bring a survivor downed at an exit gate to a hook before they could escape. Hook spawns are kinda whack on that map.

Just because I learned the map layout and where gens/pallets/totems spawned didn't make it suck any less. It was horrible for certain types of killers, had several stupidly abusable locations, was the absolute nastiest map for boons around, and was overall way too big for any non-teleporting killer to have a hope of patrolling the entire thing. Not to mention it was hella dicey to reach unhooks across the map or do Pig boxes/find Pinhead's box, and some killers' powers became way too powerful in those hallways due to how narrow they were. It was badly designed for DBD and its confusing layout was only part of that.
My only disappointment is that we're not getting a different Raccoon City map with Wesker.

I mean, obviously they have to write their opinion somewhere.
I just think it is sad that the DBD-Community is THAT whiny.

That's how feedback works. If they don't like it, they voice their feedback (some more crude than others). If enough people voice the same feedback, devs look into the issue and make a call from there.

Playing Nemo when I had a Leon and a Claire (who I think were duo-gaming) --- and I decided then and there to "cosplay" as Mr.X. Somehow Leon caught on and just started to run around the map in the same sequence you do when collecting the medallions. - We were very sad you can't crawl through the vent and can't go up to attic.

Maybe for you but i actually have no issue with the map as once you learn the map you have the upper hand as most do not know it well enough and it is great for killers like dredge or onryeo. Just like most things i found if people dislike something or it is too hard they want to get rid of it and will complain until is.

I've speedran RE2 Remake. I know the map layout incredibly well. It's genuinely the best part of the RE2 remake.
But that's the thing, DBD and the RE2 Remake are two very different games. RPD didn't work in it's current iteration within DBD, so it's being adapted to work better and create a better gameplay experience overall.
It's not knowing the layout of the map that's the issue when there are intrinsic design flaws within it when placing it within the DBD gameplay loop.

That was my favorite map, and I'm an M1 killer main. The game didn't need this, but I hope you'll still be able to select the map for custom matches.

Whilst I appreciate what the devs did for this map in terms of appearance/aesthetic, the current version should never have made it into the game; It's far too big and convoluted.
The two things I hate the most:
- Playing solo-queue survivor and trying to get any kind of organization with your team feels near impossible. A survivor get hooked on the opposite side of the map... you spend most of their first hook stage trying to get to them/find the hook. I've lost track of the number of times I got to second-hook stage on that map because of this exact reason. You can see the auras of other survivors trying to find their way to you.
- The second would be playing as killer and finding hooks. Hook spawns on this map are whack and good luck getting a survivor to a hook if you downed them at one of the exit gates. Why are there no hooks by the exit, when pretty much every other map generates hooks near the exit. Specifically other indoor maps like Lery's or Gideon.
I think we'll all enjoy this beautiful map more once it's made more accessible and playable for both sides. It's way worse for killers though; getting map pressure is so difficult when gens are so spread out.

I know the map pretty well and it definitely helped me out, that still doesn't change that it was boring to play on for me. I actually like most indoor maps unlike a lot of players. Just not this one.

Anything difficult in this game gets nerfed to hell. Almost nobody wants to do what it takes to get better. I never played RE2 before it came to DbD and I loved that map. It was one of the best aspects in this game in my opinion. And yes, I know I'm in the minority.

The only time I truly hated RPD was during the Boil Over fiasco.
Other than that, I really haven't minded it.
EDIT: I also do not enjoy it with Huntress, but I manage

That map was miserable. It desperately needed a change.

Should be a good change in all honesty, map was super unpopular and was just a terrible experience for the majority of both sides, with the pain trying to get places and the shift W and Solo Q was real on this map. And even if you did learn the map many issues would still happen.

I am very happy they are reworking the map into 2 parts with more outdoor space. That was my though as well on how to “fix” the gameplay, having the map like a semi indoor map. Looking forward to this!
The old map was never good to play on even though you learned it. Beautiful, but horrible.

My first ever game on the map, I saw Victor twice, Charlotte once and zero survivors.

Excited, yet have a small uneasy feeling if this will be done well
