Cleansing against Plague...

I've just been told by a cleansing duo, that cleansing against Plague is recommended now since her "rework", is this true? She had thanataphobia as well.

Cleansing is fine as long as you are smart about it. Cleanse somewhere where plague has to go out of her way to get to a fountain.

If the whole team over cleanses enough you can force the plague to have her power and reset all the fountains

I always cleanse because the vomiting sound is terrible and BHVR won't give us the option to remove it.

Now, I always find the fountain that's the farthest away possible from what I'm doing so she needs to get out of my gen.

As others have said—cleansing is situational. One thing that hasn’t been stated, though, is that generally, all survivors should cleanse around the same time. So, if one person does, everyone else who is sick (which should be the other three survivors) should as well. It

denies her Corrupt Purge by resetting the fountains.

The strategy is to cleanse in corners of the map or deadzones so she has to travel far to get her puke and waste time finding people after she gets it

Depends on the map, never cleanse or unhook in Dead Dawg.

I'm not going out of my way & wasting my time to give Plague that amount of power. She can come sniff my starfish to get an M1

Yes and no. People who never cleanse against Plague are failing to adapt to a dynamic situation and are easy prey unless they're supremely confident loopers with resources to work with. But people who always cleanse against Plague are simultaneously wasting tons of time and hardcore screwing over their team. There's no hard rule with Plague - instead, you have to read the situation and react accordingly. Deadzones have formed in contested areas? She's defending a hook? Your teammates are cleansing en masse? Cleanse. She's occupied with someone else? You're probably going to touch an infected object or teammate within the next thirty seconds? She has no fountains and you do not imminently need to tank a hit? Don't cleanse.

Cleanse when it's smart to cleanse, and either do it far away from active gens and the center of the map, or aim to reset her fountains if she's already got enough that there's no inconvenient places left to cleanse.

Yeah who is going to be smart about it in solo q? You have no idea where your teammate cleansed, if 1 person does it everyone is going to do it. If you are in solo q you don't cleanse vs plague until end of game.
