Hooked On You Lagging for Anyone Else?

I bought the game yesterday and even the text boxes are laggy... I have played so many other games on my little laptop that require more strength to run but Hooked on You is like chernobyl on my computer!! Just want big woman to go on date with me someone please help a sister out <3
