Why Oni is still not kill-swithced?
A bug makes that Survivors drop thrice as much Blood Orbs when vaulting. This is game breaking and allows Onis get Blood Fury much more frequently. He needs to be kill-switched asap.

Maybe is a "feature".Did you noticed if doing certain actions drop more blood?

Maybe he will be once the AOT even is finished, for now it would be a bit awkward to kill-switch him I guess.
Some argue that it is not game breaking enough, and that we don't see too many Onis anyway, so maybe it will be fixed without needing a kill-switch. Though if that is the case, I hope he will be fixed sooner than later.
I have yet to see the problem acknowledged by the devs, but right now it only creates frustrations among survivors (some go as far as bashing the killer in postgame chat for exploiting a glitch), and it wouldn't do for new Oni players to get used to the glitch and then feel robbed when it is fixed.

Because kill switching Oni would make people who got the AOT skin not happy and would drop the skin sales.
13 -
Because bhvr wants to milk the aot Oni skin as much as possible before kill switching him I assume.

It's clearly a feature.
Source: trust me bro.

Oni already is addon dependant, let this "bug" be a feature instead of helping the salt filled crowd

It is definitely not game breaking, whereas the infinite haste Clown and Nurse getting stuck permanently was game breaking and actually warranted a kill switch.
The Oni bug is the equivalent of just having the increased blood drop rate add-ons, there's no add-ons to give Clown infinite haste.

He's likely not used enough to consider it urgent, and the only reason he's probably seen a little more now is because of the AOT skin, doubling up the reason to keep him active to get those minimal sales ha. Just get healed up asap until then, and try to avoid the early hit as long as possible!

This “bug” is something that oni needs. It is not even remotely game breaking. Take away this frequency of blood orbs and oni will be a super weak killer. Leave oni alone, sincerely an oni main.

This isn’t severe enough for Oni to be killswitched over. It’s also a bug that needs to be fixed.
Map design is his problem, not how many orbs survivors drop.
1 -
Explain how map design is his problem?🤔 Curious to hear your thoughts.

isn't this meant to happen? like when survivors do thing when hurt they drop more blood orbs....
0 -
it exactly is, idk what “bug” they are talking about. The increased blood orbs when survivors do actions is literally how oni gets his power.

On many maps, strong tiles or strong pallets are interconnected with each other. This means that if survivors W-key and predrop pallets, it can be extremely difficult to catch them without blood fury (this is a problem that applies to almost every other killer as well). If maps weren’t designed in this way, then Oni wouldn’t take so long to get his power. Making survivors drop more blood orbs per action would be more or a band-aid fix.

Sadly, this is probably the reason. It's a pretty major bug and it's gotten a lot of attention lately; I can't think of another reason they'd want to leave it in its current state.
I'd assume they're talking about how effective predropping is against Oni. Indoor maps aren't exactly his friend either.
2 -
Survivors should predrop and w-key as that is the best way to counter oni early on. More blood orbs when performing actions just makes sense. It’s always been that way.

I agree, but that’s what makes oni a balanced killer. There are ways to prevent him from getting power early, in my experience as an oni main, not many survivors pre drop for whatever reason. I don’t really struggle with indoor maps. In a way it’s more dangerous for survivors as they can’t spin much in hallways and small rooms.
I didn’t think the amount of blood orbs was bugged, I think it’s been perfect how it is. But that’s just me.

You’re right, it is the best way to counter Oni in the early game. But the survivors should eventually take a hit and Oni should get his power in a reasonable amount of time. With maps like Cowshed, Eyrie, Garden of Joy and in some cases Suffocation Pit, that simply is not the case. And as I said, this is also a problem for a lot of other killers.

The burst of blood orbs when a survivor does a rushed action is intentional, but the amount dropped is currently over twice as much as he released with, and it wasn't an announced change, so the assumption is that it's a bug.
Fair enough, but in this case I don't think the bonus orbs are a good fix, because it just magnifies Oni's status as a wrecking ball once he gets going without making it any easier for him to make headway against a good team that stalls him out.
On indoor maps, it's kind of 50/50 for me? Hawkins was great for Oni and Midwich is king, but Lery's and RPD drive me up a wall if I have to play him on them. But I'm only a casual Oni player and if you've got significant time on him, you've probably picked up some tricks to cope.

Kazan himself has investigated this issue and confirmed that everything is fine with his orbs, possibly even better.

I understand you, I just don’t usually have an issue with getting my power early. On average the survivors will make a mistake and I’ll get hits. My build also helps, infectious, monitor, spirit fury, enduring. They don’t get as early a warning that I’m coming, and then predropping pallets only charges my spirit fury early on for me, and eliminates many pallet for me to get slugging value out of infectious while in power.

I will agree, some teams tend to fall apart once I get my power, and they don’t know how to deal with it. I had in a break in play so I never got to play Hawkins. Lery’s can be annoying, but honestly the key is mindgaming the windows and spirit fury REALLY helps with getting downs straight after being stunned. Rpd doesn’t bother too much, I just don’t dash unless I catch them in hallways or I need to travel cross map. It’s better to just use demon strikes.

You must be mediocre at Oni then if you think he's a super weak killer without this bug he was already viable.
This bug just helps him get his power faster but you dont need it to do well if you're decent at Oni.
You're playing public matches not tournament games there is always gonna be that one weak link in a survivor team that get easily mindgamed/gives you your first early hit at 5 gens and makes the 3 others good survivors lose the game,MMR is hardly working and inconsistent.
Even in comp tournaments Oni is great he was a 4k machine in Swish's tournament against top tier survivors btw.
So I am sure you'll do well against SoloQ teams.
I don't want Oni killswitched because he's also my main but this bug needs to be fixed ASAP no idea why it's still hasn't been fixed it's not a game breaking bug so BHVR must think it's okay we need money from the AOT skins we'll work on it after.

I consider myself pretty versed with oni. I don’t mean he’d be a super weak killer, just being dramatic lol. I play oni addonless and do fine with the normal blood orb amount, but I keep seeing that the amount of BO drop should always be 2 every couple of seconds and 2 when vaulting, and I believe that would cripple oni pretty hard. But as is I think he’s the most fun he’s been. Been facing some pretty skilled survivors and it’s been a blast.

No need to fix it's fine and oni could use other buffs as well just watch otz video were he gets no hooks before all gens are done so I think oni should start as 120% movement speed m1 killer. If otz can't get hooks before gens are done it just shows how weak oni truly is and is needing buffs agains't survivors who know the counter play don't let him get hit.
0 -
Because it is not even close to gamebreaking.
0 -
My guess would have to be that kill switch is largely saved for absolutely gamebreaking bugs. This gives oni a buff, but its not gamebreaking, thus no killswitch.

otz is really not that good. he may have very good game knowledge but when it comes to gameplay he struggles with most killers that are not m1 (huntress, nurse, trickster, oni, billy, blight..etc) and every time i watch him play he does the dumbest ######### and loses to an average group of survivors. just yesterday he got dominanted as plauge (his best killer) and got 4 outed when he should have gotten at least a 1k.
anyway am shocked that people are trying to defend a bug on one of the most powerful killers in dbd?? like if you want that many blood orbs you can use the addons that give you more but nah bugs are fine as long as it benefits a killer it seems.

Perks definitely help, especially Monitor. And I can’t tell you that your own personal experience is wrong.
I’m just saying that survivors are capable of denying Oni his power for a very long time depending on the map.

Otz also didn’t get his power before the gens got done, because he barely got any hits to begin with thanks to cowshed and the survivor’s spawns. If anything it says more about M1 killers than it does Oni. Oni is not weak, but many maps are ridiculously unbalanced.
2 -
no for sure! I have been denied my power for awhile by swf’s that coordinate. But there are only so many pallets on the map. They may waste a bunch of time, but once all pallets are gone, I’m guaranteed atleast 2k.

Oni is m1 killer most of the time without nothing to help trapper at least has traps and hillbilly or bubba has their chainsaw. Even pig has kinda antiloop but very bad one. Oni should has the dash all time at least to have map mobility.

Oni wouldn’t need that if maps weren’t terribly designed.

Oni blood orbs bugged? Silent nemesis whips? Invisible demodoggo? It's all fine as long as its killer sided. Just shows how bhvr wants the game to go.
0 -
The assumption that its a bug is because the addons that increase the blood orb generation literally don't do anything.
They're basically functioning as if its a part of the base kit and the addons aren't doing anything at all.

I don't think he needs to be killswitched but my god I hope they fix the blood orb bug soon. I got 5 onis in a row, and it's getting old. I never found him interesting to verse in the first place.

I doubt your numbers there lol. I still RARELY see oni. I’ve seen 1 in the last week. Besides, oni is one of those killers that hardly anybody is good at. So even if you got 5 in a row, high high chance they probably sucked.

Your lucky I see maybe one in month or two.

I’m saying! I wish I saw more. I rarely ever see them.
