State of 6.1.0: Tunnel fest
This is not a survivor main bait or whatever, even though I play both sides I always think of myself as a "killer player", it's the role I enjoy the most. And I rarely complain about stuff. So imagine me, a killer player, complaining about the most killer sided patch in a long time.
However, nerfing DS was a huge mistake, the patch was not healthy for the game as a whole and some things must be tweaked, since 6.1 came out it was a tunnel fest, it's not uncommon to be left on a 3v1 at 4 gens now, or a killer tunneling 3 hooks straight for one person.
Now THAT wouldn't be a problem on itself, but this adds to the increased gen times and the buffs to almost all regression perks. So basically if you stack 3-4 regression perks and tunnel the first guy out of the game, it's almost a guaranteed win. Even if you're left with 2-3 gens, the regression is so much that 3 survivors won't be able to keep up. You'll win 9/10 games.
As usual, SWFs are probably unaffected and solo Q is getting destroyed (I play almost exclusively solo Q when I play survivor and I can clearly see the problem).
I don't know, I have a bad feeling about this.

Actually if you tunnel one out you have good chance to win even if there is only 1 gen left. 2 or more gens is quaranteed win. The gen kicks perks make 3 gen much more easy to defend. I think overcharge needs to be nerfed back how it was. We console players don't want to break our controllers doing that skill check and on pc it's anyway much easier to hit.

Question: "Are there any plans to make kindred or DS base kit?"
Answer: "There are no plans to make kindred base kit"

I agree DS nerf was a mistake, before patch 6.1 tunneling was mandatory to win against good teams and yet it was less common than now.. eating DS was a bit scary unless you're nurse, OTR is the opposite if killer hit your OTR or basekit BT he will continue until you're dead 95% of the time

dont forget the disconnects. half of the games i lost because of disconnects or suicides.

There is a LOT that could be done better to balance the game out, for both sides, or at least to get very close to a proper balancement. At this point, I think the devs simply don't care, or they wrongly consider the word "asymmetrical" as inherently meaningful of an unbalanced experience. I mean, I have some ideas to improve the game, and I am not even a dev. I lack the ability to implement such things in the game, which they have. But, on the other hand, they seem to lack the ability to think of these things, which I have. It doesn't really surprise me that much, as playing a game will give you a good understanding of it and how it could be improved. And that of playing the game is another difference between me and the vast majority of the devs, it seems.

use otr and ds if you're worried about getting tunneled, i think its stronger then just pre 6.1 ds

If you do this with current soloq then that means any swf will completely stomp any killer, if a soloq team of people that have no idea when to rescue, counter the killers power and even when to heal has a 50/50 chance of winning, then a team who knows how to play the game decently is effectively unbeatable.

Disagree. You know, OTR was a perk BEFORE 6.1. Pre-nerf Decisive + old Off the Record was vastly superior. I tried the new OTR + DS combo. With STBL buffs and every Killer running it, the 2 seconds I got didn't even allow me a window hop against a tunneling Freddy (and his deceptively long fingers).

if you dont go down in a deadzone you can get value from ds, its not supposed to be a free escape from the chase just a chase extender. OTR is a free hit, so if you get tunneled off hook you always have 2 health states and i believe you can get 3 hits if you're fully healed and still have otr active.

Although I agree the DS stun nerf may be unwarranted, it's only inefficient when a survivor doesn't plan where to go down (e.g. next to a vault, under a pallet, ...)
If they never revert it to 5 seconds, planning goes a long way in making it useful.

New OTR gives you a free health state and speed boost. It does not seem possible that the killer CD plus the extra distance you could gain from just running in a straight line would not give you more than 2 seconds.

who doesnt love getting tunneled? ( playing the game)

DS was a plague before the differents nerf, it was all but fun to slug survivors, worst was at end game when they knew the downed is going to DS you at exit gates. And the stun was horribly long, you have no idea how much time i got DSed without even actually tunneling...so no, the new DS is way healthier.
Being actualy tunneled mean you have NO TIME to touch a gen, heal yourself and so on, sooooooo, if you really are tunneled, OtR and DS will work.
If it don't, this just mean you are not really tunneled.

The endgame nerf DS received is fine.
But nerfing its stun duration was a mistake 100%.

I personally feel like the basekit Borrow Time duration should be increased to 10 seconds, and they should just rework Borrowed Time to be an anti-camping perk (I had the idea that whenever a generator is completed, your hook timer is paused for a duration, so it fits the name "Borrowed Time" in a more literal sense).
I know some people will say "but the unhooked person will just bodyblock the unhooker", which if they want to do that, you are within your own right to wait out the full 10 seconds and hit them afterwards, nobody is stopping you. I 100% have no issue with tunneling or being tunneled over bodyblocking with BT. If you arent being tunneled but are actively getting in the killer's way intentionally, you 100% deserve the consequences then.

Still having DS endgame was something of a reward for doing well through the trail. You had a chance of making those endgame saves against a camping killer (and everyone knows killers suddenly feel the 'right' to camp apparently when endgame starts).
Now pretty much take the fun out of endgame rescues which was the biggest draw for me. Sure you can still attempt them with a much higher chance of both of you ending up on hooks/slugged for the endgame camper. They were often pretty hard in soloQ to pull of to begin with.
Now it's just when the exit gates are powered everyone for themselves - BHVR is best at bringing out the worst in people.

I would’ve been fine with nerfing DS if they actually implemented a basekit mechanic to combat these cheap play styles. It really just feels like the devs either don’t care about solo queue or they just don’t know how to make it more enjoyable.

If DS only works if you get tunnelled, then you constantly getting hit with DS means you were tunnelling. The activation requirement, outside of the EGC adjustment, wasn't touched.
It's now even more conditional than it was before, but now the extremely restrictive role it is designed for is also something it is really bad at, since that 3 second stun is negligible with the 1.2 second survivor stun in mind.

Unfortunately, tunneling and camping was massively buffed with 6.1.0.
SWF is not necessarily automatically immune to it, although it helps. You forget that if it takes 3 people to come to the rescue and bodyblock, then no gens are being done. DS nerf was a major blow to survivors.

Sort of exactly my point, and I've been saying this for a long time.
If you didn't get to use your DS during the match it probably means the killer played "nice" and didn't tunnel you throughout the game, so it's pretty unfair that they have to eat all DSs during the end game while trying to grasp a last kill, the game is over, 5 gens were done, so probably everyone already had a GG, whether you live or die. That's kinda fair. But the 3 second is an overkill.

literally just got tunneled out my third match of the day, with no gens done, love this game.
