The Hive (Killer Concept)

A killer idea I've had for a while is a bug infested psycho called the Hive. I’m genuinely surprised BHVR hasn’t done a killer to lean into phobias of bugs since it’s a pretty common one. They would be a pseudo-stealth killer (since bugs like to sneak up on you). Their primary weapon would be a giant bug stinger jutting out of their wrist.

They would have a normal terror radius, but they can cast a swarm of flying insects that they control while their body remains behind. The swarm has the speed and control of Spirit with Mother-Daughter Ring and lasts 30 seconds. The flying swarm has no vertical movement (it hovers above the ground). It can fly through windows but not over dropped pallets. You can use it to scout and find survivors/swarm them. When you swarm a survivor, they get infested, which gives them the oblivious status effect for 2 minutes and they have insects crawling all over their screen for that whole duration. When you swarm a survivor out in the open, you bounce off of them, your swarm timer resets, and you get a brief killer instinct on all survivors that aren't infested (not persistent like Legion). The swarm has no terror radius but does have a buzzing sound audible from about 16 meters. You go back to your body in 4 ways: you cancel your power, your swarm gets stunned (pallet, head-on, etc.), you swarm a survivor in a locker, or you swarm a dropped pallet. When you swarm a pallet, ground insects start eating the pallet, which takes ~10 seconds. If a survivor vaults an infested pallet, they become infested and hindered (hindered lasts 3 seconds). If a survivor gets swarmed in a locker, they also get the incapacitated status effect for 30 seconds. You also have your secondary power button, which allows you to crawl on all fours (in a creepy bug-like manner). This functions like Ghostface’s crouch but reduces your profile even more, doesn’t reduce your move speed, and removes your red stain.

On a side note, this killer could have some great outfits that would be themed around specific insects like spiders, fire ants, cockroaches, wasps, etc.
