Is this considered cheating?

If you change the hue is it considered as cheating? Like you can make scratch marks pink and it's easier to track survivors.

I would think yes, becuse they are that way so its possible but not easy to follow them. I dont know if much can be done about it, but i would think it is cheating.

if this should be considered cheating, then what about survivors using filters to see better killer's red glow or simply by making the game brighter to see better than the intended experience. For you these things might be cheating, but many people can attack you by saying that it makes their game look better. Just like stretched resolution to have more FPS ;)

If you are doing it with filters, nah. But i mean they are already red, pretty easy to see.

any mod that changes the way the game looks is considered cheating, including reshades and such. Now if it will be acted upon or not.... that's another question. But to be safe don't mess with the game files.

If you change the hue using your videocard drivers... well nobody can stop you from doing that though. It's your preference.

Technically, yes, it could arguably be considered cheating. However, there's no way other players will be able to tell, let alone prove that you are.

No, not at all. There is an in-game setting which allows you to do this exact same thing, and it's called colour-blind mode. While programs like NVIDIA GeForce and Reshade let you do it easier, the options exist within the game for a reason.

NVIDIA requires that developers specifically approve their software before you can use it to change the colour of the game. The fact that they have, and have approved of it since back in 2017, means that no, it is not cheating. It is specifically approved by the developers of the game.

Disregarding settings for it. Yes. In my opinion.

Personally I don't mess with the colors, but I do turn up the brightness on my monitor because frankly the game is too dark for me to see in otherwise in a lot of places.

Depends on what you're talking about - if you changed the hues so that Trapper's traps showed up bright pink then hell yeah that's cheating. Some of the other options, not so much.

Tbh it depends on your TV/monitor too, quite a few more up to date ones have a lot of filters built-in and even my terrible TV I use for a monitor from like the stone age has the bare basics built into it for brightness colour and contrast. Obviously you won't get the same level as most PC programs but you can still give it a try, even if it's just the most basic things
