How good do you think you are at the game?

Raccoon
Raccoon Member Posts: 7,716

I get the impression that a lot of people either think they're better than they actually are and/or take the game way too seriously without the skill to justify it.

With that full disclosure out of the way, how good (out of 10) do YOU think you are in both roles?

Solo - 7

Killer - 7

Both of those could be a 7.5 on a good day, but I've always viewed myself as a 'slightly above decent' DBD player.

    killer - 8-9.5

i definitely have a main role, and neglect the other for the most part (only playing survivor enough to get iri 1)

At this point I have almost completely stopped playing survivor so I am not sure how I would fare in the current meta, but I think I am a pretty decent killer. Not a SWF stomper by any means but I have no trouble against most teams.

Because I cant see my own MMR, i dont know.

I think I am better as killer than as survivor.

    Maybe Survivor a 5, Killer a 7. Not sure.

At least Im reaching Iri 1 every month on both sides. I know, its just an indicator of how many hours I spent into the game, but if u are a survivor hiding in the corner, u will not reach Iri 1, so I think Im ok in casual gameplay.

Survivor, swf (usually with 1 other friend) - 8

Killer - 4 (but it's been a while, 'cause Q-times, you know it)

Good enough to be high mmr at the 3 killers I play the most, executioner, nurse, and artist. Middle on most others, and then probably still in new player mmr with blight. For survivor, probably just above average

    Survivor: 4

Killer: Maybe an 8 if I sweat, but usually I play killer while playing music, playing a killer that I’m not that good with and playing nicely. So, probably a 5 in that case since I don’t win nearly as much, obviously.

    Survivor : 5

    Legion : 6 to 7

    Hag : 5

I still have much to learn, but I'm getting advices to get better !

    That's good to hear.

A lot of people have trouble accepting advice/changing opinions about perks/etc.

If you keep an open mind and have decent mechanical skill, you'll probably end up better than most.

    Survivor - 4 maybe a 5 if you're generous

I'm usually that player you'll hear scream it the first minute or two of the game and be downed. You'll be coming to save my often, thank you in advance 😀.

    Killer - 2 maybe a 3

I don't really play it much outside of tome/daily challenges and some easier BP, because i don't really go for kills, just hooks and chases, while breaking everything in sight. If you see a perkless Legion in bunny outfit doing weird stuff (probably looking at the floor searching for purple glyph trails).. yeah that's me. Hello in advance.

Survivor, 4-5 - have games where I definitely was the best on the team and have other games where I've checked the streamer in the lobby's stream after and they're livid with me for being absolutely moronic (with varying levels of justification, person who brought the GF directly to me when they knew where I was). I'm not going to hard carry an actually good team even after playing this game on and off for five years but I'm pretty decent on average.

Killer, probably a 7 but it's hard to say since my "sweaty" games are still comparatively not sweaty on my end...me tryharding is me focusing and attempting to be efficient, my builds are never meta since I find gen regression builds boring as all getout, and I hate using addons. As a result I'm not sure how often I'd win if I went full sweatfest every game for a while and actually used good add ons and meta builds. Even without those things I win more often than I lose, so I feel like this is a reasonable number?

    Survivor: 4

I make a lot of mistake as a survivor but does well playing killer, must be because I mastered killer early and I'm just >1000 hours as survivor.

Not to mention I play around fun builds as a survivor and always goes sweaty when playing killer.

Killer: 5-6 I've got about 500 hours as killer and play probably 2/3 to 3/4 of the roster. I can chase decently, mindgame and all that. I've got a pretty good grasp of the macro game. I do best against bully squads and altruism squads, can execute counter-tactics for them. Need better map knowledge and memorizing tiles.

Survivor: maybe a 2. I've done about 10 live matches and a lot of practice matches. I can do gens and rescues but I can't really get the third person camera down in a chase which means I get absolutely leveled in chases with a live human killer.

Hard to tell for sure but I think I’m an above average killer since I’m running about 66-70% kill rate using a random killer every night with different mostly non-meta builds. Most recently I’ve been playing with my Bad Medicine loadout which is Coulrophobia, Unnerving Presence, Septic Touch and Distressing on killers that don’t become Undetectable. And the most recent match it was Twins using my Anti-Popular Perk build which counters the most popular survivor picks according to aggregate sites (Discordance to counter Prove Thyself, Hex Third Seal to counter Windows of Opportunity, Fearmonger to counter Exhaustion perks and also Windows a bit, and a fourth perk which is whatever I feel like since Adrenaline is the next most popular survivor perk but its “counter”, Terminus, isn’t available yet. I went with Jolt for this spot since it works ok on Twins.)

I don’t play survivor very often so I’m below average there. I’m better than someone who has never played at all obviously since I at least understand basic strategy, but I do sometimes miss skill checks unless I’m really watching it and I’m not great at maneuvering in third person in chases so if I get stuck having to try and loop a single tile I’m probably screwed. (“W” stands for “Win” 😄) And the only survivor I play is Plunderer Ace because it’s fun to go in with a basic toolkit, use it up right away, then open chests and use whatever I get up and repeat. (Plunderer, Ace in the Hole, Appraisal, Open Handed. Lots of bonuses when opening chests and you see their auras from really far away. Plus Open Handed helps the team generally assuming they have auras themselves, it’s a pretty nice perk. 🙂)

    Survivor:

    6 - I'm okay. I don't escape much but I am a team player. If I can get my teammates out I consider that a fat W.

    Killer:

8 - if I am not being a big softie, and I am playing one of my mains, I like to think I am a good killer. Though my definition of playing well is 2+ kills. If being a good killer is 4 kills all the time then I am probably a 5 ^^"

Killer 8 I think km pretry decent good in mindgaming and using certain tricks to my advabtage. I have pretry decent knowledge of maps and know tricks which survivors try. But killer which I play rarely im 5-6.

Survivor 7-8; I specialize more in getting stuff done. I'll be doing the gens, I'll go for hooks saves etc. At looping the killer I am average at best. Sometimes I have decent chases, other times I'll mess up and go down.

Killer 6-7; I score myself this because I am only really decent with one specific killer and that's Mikey. He's my main and he's the one I usually play and do well with.

I have almost a couple thousand hours. . . . But i have no idea how much of that is idle time while my computer was left on overnight. . . .

    Survivor: 4ish

    Killer 6

when I happen to play the same killer consistently 7-8, which has been so many I can’t keep track. Hag, Nemmy, Pinhead, PH, Bubba, deathslinger. Kinda sorta focusing on plague and I want to love Trickster. . . .

I like to think that i was ar a 9 before going on my break, but ever since that it has decreased a bit.

Survivor has always been lower, so I think 6 is a decent spot.

As of right now though, I don't play the game nearly enough to really track this kind of stuff. I mean, I play like a couple of games a month and when I get really into it I might get one of the two roles to Gold 3 or something - compared to me pre-break, who played the game on a daily basis and was consistently Rank 1 on both sides, that is literally nothing.

I am definitely not bad at it, but there are a lot of things that I don't know about now (especially when they originate from the 4 chapters before Dredge), I don't know many tricks for new maps and I've gotten insecure about my M1 range again, which leads to unnecessary whiffs (previously I knew exactly what the maximum range was by sheer muscle memory, that no longer applies) - and most importantly: I do not feel the need to relearn all those things anymore, because I just don't care enough about it.

Admittedly the new prestige system has taken its tolls on me too - previously my goal and main drive was simplle: get a circle with a skull and a III in it on all Killers - but since said circle now goes all the way up to lvl 100 for each character (and all my previous work equals 9 levels, meaning the grind has increased more than tenfold), I feel like the goal of having everything maxed out has become very unrealistic and drastically more distant, so I basically just gave up on it.

So long story short, right now I would guess myself to be at a 5 or 6 at Survivor and a 7 as Killer.

Killah as a whole is probably an 8. Survivor is maybe a 4. That being said, my ultra instinct mode lets me go to a solid 10 on Bubba and maybe 6 on survivor. That only happens when I focus and become the Addy daddy. Note: I do not actually abuse substances.

7.7 for killer. I’m able to mindgame , figure out if I’m being baited away so someone else can finish healing , time window shots, trade hooks Etc.

Some game mechanics, and maps honestly make that number lower than it should be in my opinion, but I definitely won’t act like I can compete in tournaments or brag about how “amazing” I am at a game I’ve only started playing since the end of June .

Survivor: 4 to 6. Depends on if I've taken a break for a while.

Killer: 7 to 8. By no means could I take on an entire SWF running all the best perks (Especially because I don't run meta perks very often) but I can hold my own.

  • Mewishis
    Mewishis Member Posts: 305

As survivor terrible I'm too altruistic for my own good, I'm the person who is like "this bill saved me when nobody else would at endgame" then go on a super risky save and often end up dying saving my teammates, sometimes I manage to save both me and the other survivor because some killers are like???? did they really try that save and are caught off guard, but most of the time I end up being sacrificed, but at least I didn't feel guilty about leaving them. So a 6 lol.

As killer terrible I'm too fair and go out of my way to not do the things I hate as survivor, which more often than not ends up costing me the game, even when I do realize I'm going to lose if I don't take this survivor out I just feel way too guilty most of the time, unless the survivor team is particularly rude bming a lot, then I can be super ruthless otherwise though I let a lot of survivors go free because I can't take seeing them give up it makes me feel too guilty lol. So a 5.

If you want my opinion about myself, I'm 10 at everything!!!

    But realistically I'm probably....

    3 as survivor

6 as a killer (averaging it out because I'm probably 1 or 2 with some killers like Nurse, and maybe 8+ with some preferred killers like wraith, doc, Sadako, Hag)

Survivor, solo: 5.5-6.5, depends on the day

Survivor, swf: 2, my swf sucks and I can't carry them lol

Killer: 6-7 on most killers, 7-8 on my mains (double engravings billy/huntress), 0 on blight, who makes me physically ill to play

I'm back from roughly 2.5 month break or so but man I'm so rusty at survivor right now. Weirdly though, killer was just like riding a bike.

  • FilthyLegionMain
    FilthyLegionMain Member Posts: 1,148

On survivor: 8 but I can still somehow play like a baby at times because my mind shorts out on survivor. Solo queue curse.

    Killer's a 7.

Proof as to how I'm an 8? Looped this Legion for 3 gens and he's mad at me. LIterally focused on me by the end because I styled on him that badly.

Survivor - 5 or 6 - I feel like I have great game sense and almost always make the correct plays/reads, but my looping is average at best.

Killer - 6 - I'm a pretty good killer, but I play a laid back style; while I want to win, I don't sweat for it, and way too often go easy on survs. If I really dial it in (which I only really do against bully squads and cocky SWFs) I might be an 8. I'm also very hard to tilt, because I don't take it too seriously, even when being "serious".

I'll be using two numbers - First one will always point out to stuff when it comes to practice (how to run certain structures, how to counter X and Y, etcetera) and the second number will be for knowledge in general (the effects of perks, add-ons, informations about times required to complete an objective, where killers usually place traps as well as how do survivors react to my actions, etcetera).

    Survivor: 4 and 7;

    Killer: 7 and 9.

That bein' mentioned, I have used to play as a killer.. And I am having a feeling, you can't really play to your full potential as a survivor, unless you can run literally every single player for, at least, a minute without using more than three pallets and without losing a single health state aswell. I can't forget the VOIP, which is nowadays seen as a kinda necessary tool to gain an unnecessary advantage; Most players don't realize that they don't like to face SWF premades with VOIP themselves, yet, they do use them. Hypocrites and certain individuals claiming that they don't give you any advantage do barely touch the killer and so they're quite clueless. Well, if they do play as a survivor so much, shouldn't they, at least, acknowledge and admit that it's literally cheating? Cheating that's allowed by the developers themselves.

Solo Survivor - 5. I'm not a great looper and don't have tiles memorized but I know how to run the most OP perks and split up and bang out gens

Killer - 6 or so. I play all the killers. Jack of all trades, master of none. I'm on console so I have to just eat pallets moreso than playing around a lot of tiles cause I get stuck on ######### due to the joystick. I try to get pallets down ASAP. BHVR seems to think I'm amazing though because I get matched against probzz and other top level survivors on the regular and have lots of thrilling 2 to 3 hook games
