Tunneling does not exist in DBD
To be clear once and for all, the killer doesn't tunnel survivors, he decides to chase them again
(quote from @Peanits ) The only exception is the Demogorgon, he's great at tunneling <3
Lemme give you some examples...
Tunneling - My puppy will show u
Tunneling - Choo-choo
No Tunneling - Killer decides to chase Meg again
Hopefully we can use the correct terms in the future. Hav a nice day <3

"In this past Mid-Chapter, we added 5 second Endurance & Haste effects to all unhooked Survivors. These status effects are designed to give the unhooked Survivor a fighting chance by allowing them to get to a nearby pallet or window if the Killer decides to chase them again."
Yesterday's dev update. I love his paraphrasing of 'tunneling' and will use it in my language from now on.

The context is peanits thoughts on tunneling

They literally used the term in the latest dev update
But I will continue to “Chase the same survivor because it is an advantageous strategy that will secure my victory”

This is also a good one 😅 The important thing is you don't say you're tunneling a Meg because that sounds kinda dirty. Remember the choo-choo. 🙊
4 -
But what if I want to tunnel into megs? Like the choo choo
3 -
You need to get out there more if that's what you want

hahahaha

Lemme answer with a gif...
yes, that's also called tunneling

A dog of many talents then !

The only exception is the Demogorgon
I'm pretty sure Demogorgon is "traversing", not "tunneling"

He is my pride and joy! Unfortunately he grew too fast 😅

That's what the Demo does.

Where did you find that Meg gif? Did you make it?

A very good job, yesh he is!
2 -
yeah youre right the killer is deciding to chase the same survivor again
and there's a term for that, tunneling

Idk how much of a reputable source peanits is 🤔.

This is just as ridiculous as when survivors pretend that gen rushing does not exist because it is a valid tactic. Like, why you guys think it is a fairy tale is beyond me.

What is “Gen rushing”? I feel like it’s avoiding the killer and just completing gens but there’s gotta be more to it.
0 -
Genrushing is running a build specifically built around completing gens as fast as possible while also prioritizing gens over literally everything else. If someone gets hooked, they'll be left on hook the entire game.

Tunnelling.

No, sir, I took this gif from a DBD animation of Brush:

This is for you <3

Unironically, this brings up a legitimate point that I’ve made before - the word tunneling is an ambiguous buzzword used in a variety of contexts.
- chasing someone right after they are unhooked
- chasing the same survivor too long in a single chase without giving up
- going after someone who is already injured instead of another survivor who is maybe easier to hit but healthy
- going after someone you hooked earlier rather than someone who hasn’t been hooked yet
- continuing to chase someone you just injured rather than switching targets
All of these get called “tunneling” in after game chat and on the forums. And there’s little consensus on which of these, if any, are problematic for the game (other than maybe wanting to steer killers away from immediately redowning someone who was just rescued.)
So I’m totally ok with the devs, for instance, using clearer language to describe the specific scenario they think is an issue, namely a survivor having enough time to get away immediately after an unhook so they’re not downed instantly again. The word “tunneling” is too broad and ambiguous to really be meaningful on its own.

Oh haha thanks! (by the way, I'm a lady lol)

Nice gifs, but I’ll still use the word… tunneling
Oops…
Didn’t mean to use that word… tunneling

Excuse my folly dear lady! I thought of Ash Williams s*itting in the tall grass :'D How can I make it up to you? By the way, I love your name :3
1 -
How dare u? Shame!

hahaha you understood my intent perfectly! 😂😂 Since Ash says "look who's shitting in the tall grass," I thought it would be funny to say it's Ash trying to blame someone else lol
As to how you shall right this egregious wrong, hmmmm . . . I shall certainly need my feelings to be attended to, dear sir. You have rattled my delicate nerves for mistaking my fair feminine beauty with that of a man. I suppose a sonnet will do, and perhaps a gift of roses. 😂
And thank you! 😊
