Confirmed: Reassurance and Kinship don't stack. Kinship is better.
Honestly, just ditch Reassurance altogether and get kinship. It's just a better version of the same perk that achieves the same result but it has 16 meters instead of 6.
"But it can be used once per hook state"
This literally does not matter. Having to be in the survivor's face to use it, Kinship just has way more value.
Do not use Reassurance, bring Kinship instead. Reassurance is garbage tier.

Kinship requires a survivor stay there during the duration and does not notify the killer. I’m pretty sure, in a hard camp situation, that Reassurance is better.
3 -
It does not. You can trigger it and leave, it still goes for 34 seconds.
So no, Reassurance is not better.

People said it stacked in PTB. Were they wrong or did BHVR change it I wonder

Kinship does nothing for me if my teammates are getting camped
I have more controll over me avoiding getting hooked then my teammates
If my solo teammates notice the killer camping on my first hookstate and do the correct play of doing gens then kinship never even activates
I would go with reasurence if i had to choose between the 2. Way more controll
1 -
Kinship does not require the survivor to stay in range. Once it's activated from the survivor entering range the survivor can leave and the hook timer will still be paused.

Kinship is trash in solo queue for the sole reason that you have no control over whether or not it gets value.
Your teammates don't know youre using it, and definitely wont expect you to be using it.
6 -
Use guardian. It’s better perk and more usable. Reassurance is trash tier
0 -
It stacks up to 90 seconds per hook state, but would require each survivor in the match to walk up and use it on you.
0 -
What control do you have over Reassurance? if you'r eon the hook you have no control. And if you're the one going to unhook, you will have to go all the way to the hook, kiss the survivor on the cheek to activate it, and then go back to your generator. Congratulations, you achieved absolutely nothing. Might as well keep repairing.
2 -
Kinship requires your team knowing about it and activating it making it a helluva lot less useful if youre solo Qing with crossplay. I could see an arguement for queing cross off and saying in every lobby you have it but then youd get rougher matches, longer queues and it wouldnt even work if they didnt pay attention to chat. Reassurance is better in Solo Q imo.

Well if the killer is still camping while you may have done nothing for 30 seconds you gave the other 2 survivors an extra 30 seconds on gens.
0 -
But then Kinship does the same thing (plus 4 seconds extra) and you dont even have to approach that much. So you can continue repairing even faster.
In solo Q, Reassurance is just useless.
1 -
You could use both? You can get 30 seconds in the first stage and 40 seconds in the second stage of a single hook instance that way if the killer is literally just face camping, plus an additional 30 or 60 seconds if one or two other people use Reassurance also.
That’s all assuming you actually have enough of a pet peeve about face camping to bother using either. 🤷♂️

In solo Q kinship is more useless.
0 -
It literally achieves more for less. I don't see how.

You certainly have some flawed reasoning for why you believe Kinship is better.
First Kinship only works on yourself and only on 2nd state. It also relies on a teammate playing around kinship as there's no indication you have it.
Reassurance works both state of hooks, it used by another teammate who isn't hooked which is a more likely scenario (75% to be the survivor not on hook), and reassurance can be used multiple times in a match. Reassurance helps prevent killers from forcing out the 2nd hook state. I've been watching Otz play while at work and he had a few games of where a survivor he was trying to force into 2nd state got reassurance'd and then saved completely negating his attempt to force out the hook state.

Solo Q

Let's be honest both are pretty bad on solo queue and only work with a SWF, and in that scenario Reassurance is better.
1 -
I find my reasoning very much less flawed than yours. "It relies on a team mate playing around kinship"
No it doesn't. It requires less effort than Reassurance. if your team mate slightly approaches (16 meters is generous), sees killer camping, and leaves, the time the killer wastes is greater, and the time the survivor wastes is much less. Now, in very situational circumstances, to avoid going into second stage from first, I mean sure. But it's so situational and overall a bad perk.
1 -
Reassurance is decent for SWF.
Kinship is better for Solo Q.
I agree, neither of them achieves much and it absolutely doesn't counter camping.
1 -
I don't get it. Care to elaborate?

There are many situations in which it is most efficient to continue working on the generator until it is complete, and then go for the save.
The issue with doing this, however, is that finishing the generator tells the killer you'll be going to hook and to start proxy camping.
Reassurance allows you to greed the gen and then stall the hook timer so your whole team has an opportunity to coordinate an unhook.
0 -
because no one will know you even have it. And until BHVR adds the ability for survivors to see each others perks, nobody in soloq will play around it.
1 -
Kinship should give an alert to everyone like kindred does, so people know you have it.
1 -
Alright but why do they need to know you have it. To know the killer is camping they have to approach the hook. If they approach Kinship automatically triggers.
0 -
Kinship is better but Reassurance is fun to use so why not both
0 -
because
1: they might see you where getting camped before you reach phase 2 (perk wasted)
2: some maps are open enough that you can see the killer at a distance
3: if other survivors or you have Kindred they wont come
0 -
You with Kinship have to be on the hook for it to trigger when someone else comes near you. The other player will have no idea that you have Kinship so they won't play around it. Having Reassurance you pause the timer for another survivor that's on hook.
So Kinship would have more value in a coordinated SWF on coms and extremely niche value in solo while Reassurance can work quite well in solos.
I've been running Reassurance so far in my games getting decent value out of it. Face camping Freddy and a Whiskers suddenly pop out around a corner.
somehow i forgot the quote...

Both perks are so garbage and they don't deserves any perk slot. BHVR is supporting camper killers sadly, they are keep buffing them.
3 -
They are both trash in Solo queue. If your teammates don't know you have them and play accordingly, they are both near worthless.
1 -
Would like to see the Reassurance nerf be reverted.
Make it so that it can't activate in EndGame tho
