Hyperfocus isn't worth the perk slot
I've been running Hyperfocus (with Stakeout usually) for the last few days and I've found it usually saves around 12-18 seconds per generator if you're uninterrupted for the entire duration of the generator.
That being said, perks like Surge and Pain Resonance completely destroy this perk and prevent you from accumulating high stacks as well as Killers with good map pressure that will patrol generators. I also realized while running the perk that waiting until the last minute for hook saves often times means people die on hook or go second stage, which makes getting Hyperfocus value sandbag the team some games.
Fast Track and Prove Thyself are more consistent with less counterplay. Use those if you wanna shave time off generators over the course of the match.

Hyperfocus can give up to 5% progress for gen great skillchecks <Usally 1%> and 15% <5%> for healing greats < at max or near max stacks I think>. These amounts can help drastically but It depends on what you value. I think its an okay perk with an amazing synergy with stakeout or this is not happening, but on its own it can be lackluster.

If you run it with a toolbox it turns a 90 second gen into a 40 second one. It is extremely overpowered.
10 -
Survivors get a perk that lets them do 45 second gens with 2 perk slots and an item and it's still bad, would completing a gen instantly with the perk be better OP?
15 -
You are blaming the wrong mechanic. Toolboxes are problem here, not perk.
Toolboxes needs to be reworked.
5 -
its balanced risk vs reward perk that require a lot of skill to use. unlike what some people like rein were saying was "overpowered". its like they don't understand that toolbox save 40+ seconds with wire spool/brand new parts with commodus alone. its worth perk slot if your good at great skill-checks and want to be rewarded for them.

I thought hyperfocus could give you up to 2.8%?
30% of 1% (the base value of great skill checks which is what it applies) is 0.3%, so times that by 6 is 2.8%
3 -
It’s both. You can do gens in 55 seconds with just hyperfocus and stakeout. You don’t need a toolbox for that.
2 -
Stakeout needs to be charged. You already wasting good time for 4 stacks. Not all killers have large TR like Wesker has. Stakeout is garbage perk against 90% of killers.
2 -
Stakeout is underrated and I’ve been using it frequently even before this chapter. It is bad against stealth killers but otherwise it’s not even close to the terrible perk people say it is.
But the reason it’s so powerful with hyperfocus is that not only does it correct your mistakes to keep hyperfocus going, but it actually doubles the hyperfocus bonus too, since it gives you 30% of 2% per token instead of 1%.

If you say so, alright. I never used this perk except Adept Tapp. And i adepted Rebecca, so i am never gonna use Hyperfocus either.
Garbage perks. While i can make killer waste their time with second chance perks, why i should use boring perks.
But if you are saying it is op, alright. They gonna nerf Hyperfocus too tho. They nerfed Self Care, Calm Spirit and Blast Mine. They have no limits.

At maximum stacks which requires seven skillchecks over the course of the gen (six skillchecks to hit six stacks plus a seventh to use the benefit of the sixth stack). Realistically this doesn't happen even every generator because skillchecks are random. Count the amount of skillchecks you get while working on a gen next game its usually between 4 and 8 for the entire 90 seconds.
People are way too caught up in the hypothetical value of this perk, while the real world value just isn't there. If the Killer is running Pain Resonance (which is very common) you'll never get high stacks with Hyperfocus at all.

I guarantee this person doesn't even understand how the perk works.
Stacks are lost the second you get off the generator for ANY reason.
Even with a toolbox, hitting every single skill great skill check meanwhile not being interrupted by a perk, the Killer, or god forbid another Survivor is a pipedream.

It might work like that I honnestly just thought it took it additvely <but yours is most likely correct>.

I've been using it, it has helped me to do the work of two people.
Half decent toolbox + Stakeout and Hyperfocus means I can cut a lot of time off of gens, especially on my own.
2 -
~45 seconds, if you hit every great skill check, which you won't. And the Killer can't interrupt you, which they will. If you wanna talk overpowered, we should talk about your Nurse profile picture :)

It's really easy to do gens in 45 seconds with Hyperfocus builds. I'm sorry you're bad at hitting spacebar?

Too many downsides, once again. Why does it not work like STBFL in which a single token is lost for a missed check? Why does it completely reset to 0 if you stop repairing? Why does it completely reset when a generator is repaired? It gets faster when you do good. I think it needs a buff before it is worth using.
2 -
And you’re bad hitting m1 at survs?
1 -
You don't lose the progress you made if a killer interrupts you.
It you can do a gen in 45 seconds and the killer interrupts you after 30 seconds you still did ~2/3ths of the gen in half the time
Also it sounds like you blame a lot of your and your solo teammates mistakes on the perk
You letting people go to stage 2 or die on hook is you misjudging the distance. Not the perk
PR and surge constantly messing you up is your teammates not lasting 10 seconds in a chase. Not the perk.
Sticking to a gen for 45 seconds in a swf even without comms but just reliable teammates isn't hard

How exactly are you doing another generator in 45 seconds when your Toolbox is depleted after the first?
Do your extra skill checks just magically appear out of thin air?
Same question.
Some of you honestly don't think things through at all.

id love to see a “video” of this. You absolutely can’t do a gen in 55 seconds with just hyperfocus and stakeout
1 -
It's crazy that you forgot about Built to Last
3 -
Built to Last + Streetwise, with Hyperfocus + Stakeout. Commodius Toolbox, with Wire Spool + Scraps.
Your toolbox will last slightly longer than your first gen.
On your first Built to Last, your toolbox lasts slightly longer than your second gen.
On your second Built to Last, it lasts most of your third gen.
On your third Built to last, the exit gates are probably already powered because you did three gens in three minutes BY YOURSELF.
If two or three survivors are running this build, I think the killer literally cannot do anything to get more than one kill. I haven't been able to play it myself since I've been getting migraines all week and haven't been able to play. I just hope the synergy with toolboxes gets removed, like how Autodidact can't be used with medkits.
The Dead by Daylight community was raised on a steady diet of toxic waste and cranial blunt force trauma.
We are discussing the perk Hyperfocus. It's a survivor perk for doing skill checks and rushing gens. It's extremely strong and easy to use when combined with Stakeout. You know what that has to do with playing killer?
Literally. Nothing.
Go play scratch and sniff with your bunghole or whatever it is people like you do for fun.

Spoken like someone who can't hit greats. Lol.

Tbf they do get pretty fast after 4 stacks or so. You're probably gonna miss the great without Stake Out.
0 -
I watched a streamer do the hyperfocus + stakeout combo yesterday and three times a teammate went to second stage on first hook. I thought the exact same thing lol
1 -
they need a rework again?
0 -
Only the Commodious and Event toolboxes. Unless you're running one of those, your toolbox probably isn't doing much for you.
0 -
then just remove the skillchecks from commodious and event toolboxes so you can't stack hyper focus off them or just make hyperfocus not work with toolboxes
2 -
Great change, sounds fair to me.
0 -
You've now designated 3 (or 4 with Streetwise) out of your 4 perks and a Commodius Toolbox with Wire Spool/Scraps benefitting a single perk.
In the ABSOLUTE best case scenario hitting all great skill checks, having a continuous flow of Stakeout stacks, uninterrupted for the entire duration, you'll complete two generators in 90 seconds.
I guess?

Your killers have time to patrol gens? Must be nice. But no, Prove Thyself is probably more versatile.
0 -
For some reason the 1% bonus from stake out (which applies to checks that you have hit manually in addition to consumed tokens) actually increases the progress for the purposes of hyperfocus, so if you run both it's 30% of 2. Thus at 6 tokens you're getting an extra 3.6% on top of your 2% base, for a total of 5.6%

Oh lord, here we go again with the whataboutism. Stay on topic.
1 -
How many half time gens do you need?
If you can do 2/3ths of a gen in half the time and save some time elsewhere here and there it's already more then worth it. And that is in the worst case scenario of being pushed off
Again i think you're looking to much of your own experience with casual or mediocre players
Nobody complains of inexperienced nurses that can't hit blinks. But about the ones that don't miss
Same principle. Nobody is complaining about hyperfocus vs a team that feeds the killer PR every 15 seconds or users who can't hit 2 greats in a row to save their life
It's strong in the hands of people who barelly miss a great and have teammates that can last a bit in chase
Every perk is bad in the hands of bad players
That said i don't want to see it nerfed too much, probably just make it not work with toolboxes. The synergy wih stake out can stay.
It heavily punishes killers who only focus on one survivor and leave the others be and that's a good thing

Yes.
It's incredibly good.

Used this build last night - Prove Thyself/Built To Last/Stakeout/Hyperfocus
You need each of these three variables for it to be good.
Toolbox with charges - for increased Skill checks
Built to Last - To recharge your Toolbox for the Skill checks
Stacks of Stakeout - To hit higher Skill checks on Hyperfocus
Anyone saying they are reliably hitting skill checks above four (probably even three) on Hyperfocus without stacks of Stakeout has their head in the clouds.
This build has minimal impact when playing against stealth and low terror radius Killers.
Yes, it is good if all of these variables exist.
Dedicating three out of four perks on the assumption that you are in the best case scenario each time is a bit silly.

Also, no Surge/Pain Resonance/DMS
