Terminus perk... What about Adrenaline?
Was the whole point of this perk to counter adrenaline runners?
Seems like lots of stuff is happening to our survivor perks... What's the point of running adrenaline after this new killer?
Wasn't the point of the rework to make some of those useless ones more useful?
Like I'm not going to run adrenaline on the off chance that they're not going to cancel it out... That's like what happened to decisive strike...
Another perk dead I suppose.

I thought Adrenaline counters Terminus but I could be wrong. In any case Terminus is not such an op perk so I wouldn't be worried about seeing it often. Also the usage of Adrenaline has skyrocketed.

Just run hope, it is leagues better than adrenaline now anyway.

I've been in three games so far where my adrenaline was countered by Terminus.. rendering it useless... which like it's whatever.. I can swap it out if needed... but I don't like the idea of "have this perk JUST IN CASE it'll help :D"

Terminus counters Adrenaline, yes, but that’s literally what it‘s supposed to do. It serves no purpose until endgame and then essentially acts as a weaker version of noed that isn’t a hex and then goes away when the exits are opened. Personally I don’t think terminus is even that good on its own; it might get some use in endgame builds but that’s about it.
Adrenaline is still going to be a great perk and on the off chance a killer has Terminus, oh well. You will still get the speedboost.
Sincerely, a survivor main and Adrenaline enjoyer

Wesker just came out, just let it settle? There were already reasons not to run adrenaline: what if the killer was plague, or they had other means of making you broken (legions add-ons, forced penance..)? They all counter adrenaline
Terminus is an ok/good perk but you won't see it that often, just as you don't see adrenaline that often while it's always been an ok/good perk

I'll take a look. Thanks

You still get the speed boost. And it's nothing new that some perks counter other perks. We have that on both sides. And who's running Terminus anyway?
2 -
Well personally I always considered Adrenaline a "Just in case it'll help" perk. First off you need to reach the Endgame for it to even activate and you get any real use of it only if you're injured and the killer is on you. Otherwise its just a speed boost.

Does the adrenaline heal kick in once you are no longer broken?
0 -
Nope
0 -
It's not at all useless tho? You still get the sprint burst. Honestly, NOED is probably a bigger counter. With NOED, you still go down in one hit and the killer is faster.
If your in chase and either Terminus or NOED procks while your in chase, the killer with NOED will probably down you faster. Sure, I guess it's theoretically possible that the NOED could be cleansed before you go down, but unless your in a SWF that's probably not happening.

Which killer perks are countered? If we want to counter a killer perk, we have to do something in game to do so. Like cleansing all totems, etc.

What about Terminus + No Way Out?
Survivors should be broken the whole NWO-Time, right?

I don't see the issue. The perk counters healing in the end game and Andrenaline is a form of healing. You do still get the speed boost so it doesn't fully counter it.

Distortion counters all aura perks and even aura reading add-ons from the killers.

I think Terminus was made to force open gates imo

I can think of following: Calm Spirit counters Infectious Fright, Distortion counters every single aura perk, Kindred is a hard counter to Insidious (campers). Reassurance is not only an effective counter against camping, but also kind of negates Monstrous Shrine. There are probably more examples.

I agree with everything you wrote but i disagree the part it is not good.
It is great perk when you use it with Blood Warden. Survivors will stay broken or they will open gates and they will give opportunity to use your Blood Warden. I really loved this perk, it is not op but fun to use.

I will look into these. Thank you for sharing this.

Fair, yeah with perks like BW or NWO it has potential to be decent
0 -
Distortion for some reason is still really slept on--maybe because the skilled survivors prefer to take aggro.
Its probably one of the best counter-pick perks a survivor could use
0 -
And what adrenaline suppose to do? Because it only activated at egc too

Heal you on the condition you’re not Broken, and grant a 5s sprint burst regardless.

The killer is giving away one perk slot from a total of 4 just for a possible adrenaline in the game, survivors combined have 16 perk slots. It's not really a good trade trust me. After all Wesker get their adept achievement you won't see this perk anymore.

weskers new perk is mediocre on its own. However i dropped adrenaline for Windows. I actually like to get value out of a perk. I ran lithe already and have been for almost a year. And getting the spirit burst plus exhaustion was fine because i would get the heal. So it was fine when running both. Now your injured and you get a sprint burst but your exhausted. So your injured and no lithe. Yeah i had to take it off especially with a bunch of weskers playing rn.

I find that Terminus can be good when paired with Plague. Normally in the end-game survivors like to cleanse, but Terminus will keep them broken during the end-game and pretty much just give me free corrupted fountains.
But Im not sure why people make such a huge deal about Terminus countering Adrenaline. You know what else counters Adrenaline? Killing the survivor before end-game. H: NOED (plus you get the speed boost). Plague. Legion + Deep Wound. Any other perk that causes the Broken status (Forced Penance).

Distortion counters all Aura Reading.
Repressed Alliance counters generator kicking perks.
Desperate Measures counters heal slowdown.
Saboteur lets you know which hooks are scourge hooks.
Off the Record counters Aura Reading and totally silences you so it would also counter Stridor.

It basically forces survivors to open up the exit gates if they want to rescue.

Terminus is way more than an Adrenaline counter. It prevents survivors from resetting and weakens survivor endgame situations - if the killer has a hook to defend, injured survivors have to open the gates or lose, when previously a stalemate could be enforced for a very long time, or a bodyblock conga line would usher the hook out the gates.
As for Adrenaline, I'm not seeing Terminus enough to shelve it - and that's with everyone playing Wesker. Personally I never considered Adrenaline a reliable solo perk anyway.

well of course people are gonna run the new perks right after the update, just change your build accordingly and go back after the usage of the new perks die down
0 -
Bingo, which is why I love it on my Wesker build (Terminus + NWO + Lightborn + Bamboozle)
Edit: Forgot to mention the fact that Wesker has the innate ability to block the exit gates for a few seconds if he manages to catch someone with Virulent Bound and slam them against the exit, making Terminus a great combo for those T-baggers)

well let the leaves settle first, once no one plays wesker, I really don't think it'll be meta. terminus is only really being used because wesker exists rn, it'll surprise you in the future just like devour hope or noed does the same way

I'm actually surprised it took 6 years for Adrenaline to finally get a hard counter. Everything should have a counter in DBD. There's no reason why Adrenaline should be a special exception

adrenaline does the speed but since the survivor is broken they dont get the health state
edit: i read the title and not the post im pretty dumb
its purpose is to be a "new noed" - not a hex, and is much less consistent bc of it, but if you have all 4 injured when endgame happens none of them can save until egc happens, and even then they have to wait 30 seconds and do the healing stuff
pretty much if they try the uncounterable unhook situation that all but insta downs just have to let happen since there is 0 counterplay and they somehow fail then they cant try again unless they start egc
pretty much its gimmicky at best, its a perk to help with losing and securing kills, and it works with endgame builds as a more "permanent" noed

Well, it's all about finding balance on what you struggle with. I struggle at sneaking, so I use Lithe. Adrenaline gets you to the gate basically, so the killers need a way to fight it. You just have to learn how to be sneakier when they are running Terminus, same as NOED/expose. It's not like everyone is gonna have it.

Does Terminus prevent downed survivors from getting back up when adrenaline procs? I'm not asking to try to discredit anyone or anything, I just honestly havent seen the interaction to know. If it does, then it still carries most of its previous value. Still less than before obviously, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it got nullified into obscurity or anything. If its interaction is enough to make you get little to no value out of what it does, switching to something like hope as others have suggested would be a more well rounded alternative.

broken only effects getting to healthy
so no it does not affect getting up from adrenaline or anything else
0 -
So the only thing that Terminus removes when both activate simultaneously is the free health state, the speed boost and ability to pick yourself up instantly are both fully intact. Sounds like a usual adapt or replace situation, especially since its a perk vs perk interaction.

You still get your free Sprint Burst, it's not exactly a hard counter.
