Survivor challenges

Okay... the new tome opened yesterday... and like... why are the survivor challenges soo bad? Why I need to go out of my way to kiss killers arse? (literally bc there is YET ANOTHER challenges to be within the killer for 120 second while staying at 10m away from the killer) meanwhile killers needs to knock someone down, hook ppl, kill them or break pallets/walls or gens?

Why does it seems like devs wants surv to throw their game for tome challenges?

If you guys have any suggestions what survivors should do for challenges, post them here, maybe some will notice... in few years...

I'm not doing that stuff. That's my suggestion.

Honestly, I really don't think they're that bad this time around. There's nothing absurdly obnoxious like Blood Debt, and the one for hiding near the killer gets ticked up through normal play way more often than you'd think.

I also don't really think there's anything wrong with stuff like the Self-Care one, it's effectively playing perkless and bringing a medkit, which seems like a perfectly legitimate challenge to me.

If anything, I think the killer ones are a lot more lacklustre. I don't find the ones for breaking pallets and getting hooks to be all that interesting to do, personally speaking.

Survivor challenges/achievements are always pain in the rear. I have conspiracy theory that they made just to force players to play more survivors. Because it take 20 more time to finish one survivor achievement than killer one.

Yes I did and for me they are waay easier to do. Most of the killer one are stuff which you do during normal gameplay. You kick gens, you hit, you hook.

But bc survivors only objective is gens everything else is just annoying. And like ppl said most of your teammates throw a game for it.. And I don't blame them.

Survivor Challenges have always been something which forces you to do anything except your Objective, while Killer Challenges are mostly "play the game".

So nothing new. In the end, all are doable.

Yeah I get that. They are not interesting but apart from the specific ones for specific killers all of them are part of the core killer gameplay.

Selfcare is one of the worst perks now - you do jack sh** for who knows how long, or you run around like headless chicken trying to do totems, meanwhile Meg or Nancy is throwing all the 9 pallets on the map bc she has "drop a palette while in chase challenge*, Jake is breaking hooks and Nea is following the killer.

I'm so glad I'm at the end of the rift that I don't need to bother anymore but ppl who don't play much still doing it and I'm sorry for them... And their teammates.

It's not the kill rates why they're making them. They just don't know how to make challenges.

There's complaints about that one every single time it gets repeated in these tomes. Nobody wants to sit next to a killer that whole game, and because there's no in-game indicator that the challenge is done, you have to be extra sure you did, which means spending more time than is necessary just following the killer around.

This is kind of how the surv challenges have always been, really. It sucks because to complete most of them you do have to throw to one degree or another. Pretty much anything that encourages you to deviate from the natural flow of gameplay is going to create inefficiency and be tantamount to throwing; only a small percentage of surv challenges can be completed by just playing as normal, and that is nothing new.

To be fair a few of the killer ones do as well, but not as many, and with killer you're not screwing over anyone else by going out of your way to complete arbitrary items.

Obviously. That's not even a conspiracy theory. That is 100% the way it is.

It's almost as if we are required to commit bannable offenses to complete the tomes.

But shouldn't challenges be designed to make you do something other than the normal gameplay loop? Like, isn't that kind of the point of them?

People definitely do throw to get them done as quickly as possible, but that's not the fault of the challenge design, it's the fault of the players who're willing to throw. You don't have to- just earlier tonight I completed the sabotage challenge just by stopping for a handful of seconds to sabotage something on my way to another generator or after unhooking. Heck, it even ended up saving a teammate from a hook at the right time.

Obviously there's a limit - as mentioned above, Blood Debt is just an awful design - but in general they should have you do something other than simply completing your objective.

I did a search and it said farming is bannable. Also, I did quit.

That's not a conspiracy theory. That's a feature to keep players playing. Tomes came out at a time when gameplay was already stale and long-time players were done grinding. It got a lot of veteran players to have a reason to stay and come back whenever a new one came out.

You mentioned "farm" in the last sentence of the comment I originally responded to. I wasn't trying to say that you farm or suggested farming. I was moreso thinking about how the rift challenges sort of contradict regular gameplay. Almost to the point of commiting bannable actions.

Also, when I did a search I only looked at the first result. I just tried to find that result again to take a screenshot, but I couldn't find it😂. I definitely admit that I didn't put much effort into checking if farming was bannable.

Another thing, I think the forum is currently more fun than the game, itself. Which is why I still get on here even if I'm not currently playing. I think I was getting ddos'd out of games the last night I played.

I get that but those rules applies mostly to survivor challenges. Killer ones are simple and easy for the most part. I can get them done in 2 to 3 games, most of them in 1 game without completely screwing my emblems but most of the surv ones you need multiple games and hope other teammates doesn't have the same + hope they actually do something which in solo is already hard 😂
