Why does wiretrap not stack with open-handed?
I really don't understand why open-handed doesn't extend the aura reading range from wiretrap. I get it that it could be a bit strong in specific maps/generators, but I was wondering what was the specific reasoning behind wiretrap's aura not being extended by open-handed when kindred, a perk with similar aura reading, is extended by the perk.

Equip Kindred with Open Handed and see how much info 32 meters of aura reading on the Killer gives you. Then imagine if the Survivors could see the Killer coming from 32 meters away.
I don't think it needs anymore justification than that to not combine.

It would sorta be broken. Kindred with open handed is pretty far.
It would just be another 30 meter range with little setup.

OP is right, i tried it aswell.
The fact that it would be prob to strong (even for solos) doesn't change that it doesn't make sense as Open Handed + Kindred extends the Killer aura reach aswell.

Survivors aren't allowed to have game changing perks, that's killer.

activating kindred costs a hook state, which is an absolutely massive cost for a perk

Wiretap is a pretty cheap perk to activate, it's only 33% of generator progress and 80 seconds of aura reading around it. While 14(?) doesn't sound like a lot it's nothing to scoff at either. But having it work with Open Handed would be extremely silly on maps like Midwich where only two of them would be needed to cover more than half of the map.
