Struggling with 'Self Preservation' archive challenge (tome 6.1)
I've been struggling to complete this particular archive challenge for a little while now, and it's the last one I need to complete tome 6. I am aware that this particular challenge has apparently been buggy in the past and wasn't working, but over the last few weeks I've heard mixed reports from looking into how to beat this one; some comments report that the challenge is outright bugged, others say they did X to get it done, so I'm not sure whether this challenge is still bugged as of 6.2.2, or whether I'm just not doing it right.
If it's not a bugged challenge (shame if it is really, since it also unlocks the Yui Kimura video and final lore entry), how do I go about completing this task? Any suggestions or help welcome!

I have gotten it done seems it work for some and is bugged for others. I have tome 6 that's rude challenge bugged. Have you gotten that one done?

What exactly have you tried? As i recall you need to get into the locker within 5 seconds of the start of a chase.

When the killer picks someone up, run infront of them (this will start a chase) and then immediately jump in a locker. After the chase music stops give it a sec then jump out
Easy way if you're really struggling

I've managed to complete all the tome 6 challenges except for this one.
In the past I have tried entering a locker within 5 seconds of a chase starting (both with and without getting caught by the killer, utilising Q&Q), and also within 5 seconds of a chase ending as well.

I'm honestly more convinced, having just done a bunch of attempts this afternoon, that this archive challenge is just outright bugged (at least for me). I did follow the advice on this thread and I still haven't gotten the challenge completed.

So I guess it's been a month or so since I last attempted to do this challenge; has this challenge been fixed yet as of 6.3.1 or is it still bugged?

I would wanna know, too. Haven't tried it since, but would give it a shot in a couple hours when I'm home again. (About 5ish)

I've had several attempts to do this in 6.3.1 over the last 24 hours, and unfortunately I think this archive challenge is still bugged. A damn shame really, considering it's the last piece of Yui's archive story and the only one I need to 100% tome 6.

This is excellent archives advice in general. Running in front of a killer that's carrying someone is the best way to start a chase the killer won't commit to, so you can use that for a bunch of different challenges.
I think for this challenge, you need to enter the locker right after the chase ends (I know that's how I got it - just wait for the music to stop and jump in a locker), but it's quite possible it's bugged.

Overcome, Lucky Break and Q&Q? You could also offer an indoor map? Get hit and just jump in a locker somewhere, should be pretty confirmed, easily? I did this 20 times to get that Steam challenge where you had to escape the killer by using a locker 20 times.

While this is good advice (I have done runs with Q&Q/Iron Will, but never considered using LB and Overcome), my continued assumption is that this archive challenge is still bugged as of 6.3.1 and doesn't actually complete properly, no matter what you do.

I used quick and quiet with deception to get it. Also had head on but that is moot.

I tried to attempt this challenge about 10 times today, but all to no avail. It seems to be indeed still bugged.
Another challenge from the same tome though, that I previously couldn't get any progress on, was fixed (the one were you or your team mates needed to repair 12 gens).
So its waiting for another round of fixes, I guess :V

I know that Quick Thinking 4.1 is bugged which is basically the same thing only while using Quick and Quiet. So I expect this is as well.

As of 6.3.2 it still seems bugged. Even managed a perfect setup of using Overcome/Lucky Break/Q&Q/Iron Will to hide in a locker 3 seconds after breaking chase with a Trapper on Eyrie of Crows, but the challenge did not complete. I really hope this gets fixed eventually.

I'm still wondering if this remains a bugged challenge as of 6.4.1, since I'm still keen to get this done at some point.

I haven't tried yet, as there is a whole new tome page, but soon enough I will give it a try ... and be disappointed. Again.

Well I just tried this tonight with 6.5.1, and it looks like the challenge is fixed now as I finally managed to complete it. Yay!
