HIDE SURVIVOR NAMES FROM THE KILLER UNTIL POST GAME

There is literally NO valid reason the killer needs to see the players gamer tags/usernames BEFORE the post game screen.

DON'T GIVE ME THIS ANONYMOUS mode crap either because its not available on consoles.

Give an option to hide who you are until post game. Then console can use it just fine. STOP LETTING PEOPLE TARGET OTHERS!

Why did the incidents happen with the bubba masks? BECAUSE THE DEVS ALLOWED THE TARGETING by giving us no way to protect ourselves as small streamers. Why do killers continue to harass some players and bully them? BECAUSE THEY GET TO SEE WHO IT IS BEFORE THE MATCH STARTS.

Just do the right thing.

Na, if I want to avoid all of the PC cheaters then I will.

Pretty sure the devs will bring anon mode to console. You'll eventually be able to use anon mode yourself.

    Literally just Anonymous Mode, dude.

Names differentiate who survivors are when there are multiple people playing the same character, especially with similar/identical outfits. They also can allow as many friendly interactions to happen as unfriendly ones - survivor names asking for help with challenges, stuff like MoriMeDaddyMyers or TrickstersWife or IBoopYourSnoot. Heck, when Wesker dropped, I named myself Budget Wesker and went around as a cosplayed Felix, and a couple of them nodded at me or played with me because my name made them realize the joke. I do not want to have my name forcibly hidden from the killer for this reason.

The only possible reason you could have a point here is if you're being targeted for identity reasons and your name is part of that. And in that case, just go anonymous. I am pretty sure the patch notes said they kept the console option to hide your name even if it's not the full TTV-proof version. If you're a TTV, this is a risk you signed up for and I don't know how difficult that can possibly be to understand. It's like turning all the lights on in your house, throwing the curtains open, and then getting mad at the neighbors for looking. And if there's something politically charged or potentially inflammatory in your name, that's your own fault.

It's not fair to go "I want all the benefits of advertising my stream to other players without getting any of the drawbacks of advertising my stream to other players!"

Isn’t it still possible to hide your name?

they're on console which means they do not have anon mode, also taking ttv out of their name isn't free, and if they're on playstation it may not be worth the risk if it still has the bugs it did when name changes became a thing on that platform

How am I going to meme with survivors called "Nod for Bang" or "Don't touch me" then ? D:

More seriously, I like being able to check survivors' steam profiles before the game starts. Matchmaking being how it is, it's allowed me to dodge more than a few games with guys with 3k hours when I barely have 200.

But I like seeing their names.

The validity of dodging trolls and cheaters or players you simply don't want to play against again is fairly valid.

And the Bubba masks...well that had nothing to do with streamers for the most part. Just the fact a select group of people used the masks against Claudette and so it was deemed inappropriate and removed. Mainly because of accusations of black face and racism. It was true though. Ruined it for everyone they did.

Man...we need the masks back. Get em for the other survivors too. At least the other original ones...

I was so thankful for anonymous mode. I can't act surprised good things don't last long.

Not gonna lie, the "hide other players names" option was one of the most beneficial things ever added for me. It helps me with "perfomance anxiety" while playing killer. I played against a streamer with 150+ viewers without knowing, prior to this patch i would've instantly dodged or played like ass

I'd agree with you if cheaters weren't so rampant.

Anonymous mode should be on consoles as well, even though considering the at times straight up creepy "privacy shaming" you see in the community even that isn't perfect as some weirdomax individuals will consider it inherently toxic or something equally weird.
