Solo Players vs. SWF: Who do you think makes up the majority of the Survivor Population?

I’m not sure if the devs or anyone related to BHVR has gone on record of letting the public know who is the majority, but if not- I think that would be a great statistic to share. If they have, please comment below with the answer & the source (if possible).

When I think of SWF’s, 4 man crews mostly come to mind. I consider 3 man squads to be in that populous as well. Two man squads I feel are more neutral but if I had to pick where they land, I’d say they are more akin to solo’s and are the least popular of the four survivor groups. With this said, I personally believe Solo Que Players make up the majority of the survivor population. If I had to put it into percentages, I would estimate they make up about 65% of the survivor side while SWF’s are 35%. Now bare in mind this is pure conjecture, and I have no hard proof this is the case. I base my opinion from my personal experience with this game since 2019, especially when I play Killer. It feels like 1 out of 5 games is a 3/4 man SWF, while the other 4 predominately consist of solo’s and 2 man SWF’s. I play at all different times of the day, with Cross-Play on (still taking into consideration my experience pre-Cross-Play), and on North American servers.

What about you guys? What do you think the numbers are (again, if not already stated by BHVR)? Comment below if you agree or disagree, why, and make an educated guess of the percentage, based on your personal experience. Remember to keep it civil and do not flame each other if you disagree with someone’s take. We may learn something today about how our community perceives things…or not. 🙃

Im not sure what the numbers would be. Every day, I play at varying levels as a survivor, yesterday I had solo matches, a duo match then a few trios, and then a full squad.

I reckon it'd be very difficult for them to get an actual statistic.

Some of the stats they give us actually surprises me sometimes, leaving me to wonder how they tracked it. Take the statistics for calculating how much less people were DCin’g when they first introduced the DC penalty, for example. I don’t know anything about programming, but I would wager they could get the survivor population stats just as easy, if not easier.

When they last released data about SWF numbers back in 2019 or so, it stated about half of all survs (across all platforms) we're in at least a two-man, that being the most common SWF, with 3- and 4-mans less common.

I do not believe they've released such data since then. However between that time and the Meta shake-up patch I have to believe the number of SWF had to have grown vastly, as solo queue got more and more delightful over the years.

Since the Meta shake-up, where it seems lots of survs left or became killers themselves, what does common sense say about the number of SWF these days?

Also keep in mind the majority of the playerbase is on console, who mostly play surv (why that is is another thread in of its self) where party chat is built in and super easy to use, and Discord is being integrated as well.

I think the majority is solo but the higher the mmr, the more swfs.

From my subjective experience of checking profiles out of boredom it is something around 50:50 for solo and any form of swf, during prime time aka 8pm-1am, eu, crossplay on.

The full solo and full 4 people swf are true outliers. Most lobbies are a mix of duo/trio and solo, some duo+duo.

I mean its pretty safe to assume its solo que. Most people that buy and boot this game up for the first time, do so alone.

The majority of survivors are solo or 2 person SWFs.
