A little DbD history first:

When the Halloween DLC chapter first came out, whenever Michael (The Shape) stalked a survivor for a few seconds, a sound would play for the survivor indicating that they were being stalked. The devs called this sound prompt "The Sting", and it was an intended mechanic for Michael, but after a few patches, it got bugged and didn't play anymore when Michael Stalked survivors. Instead of fixing it however, the devs discovered that the players Preferred playing without "The Sting" sound, as it was too much of an early warning sound effect and playing without it made it easier for killer players to play Michael/get stalk points in, as well as making it scarier for the survivors to face him. The devs figured they actually didn't need the Sting warning because anyone being stalked by Michael could easily spot him due to his towering size and bright white mask, so they just never brought it back... until now.

The current PTB:

Now whenever the last survivor standing is triggered, "The Sting" has returned to alert both the killer and the survivor that there's only one survivor left running around. I'm so glad it's back! Some of my most intense memories from back in the day were directly related to that sound, and hearing it again put me instantly in a nostalgic "caution mode", being that it now indicates the game will end if you go down, It's finally found a good home for itself back in DbD!

Edit:

I was wrong, this is the actual "Sting" sound prompt:

Still, the new sound is very similar, just much shorter... regardless, still feels like its back to me!

Thanks @Jarky for finding this clip so I could hear the difference.
