The Flashlight change's reasoning shows the glaring issue of willful ignorance and PR stunting.
Just a disclaimer: I am not against the flashlight change of itself, I don't care for it and I am happy for it to be implemented.
For anyone out of the loop: The developers have randomly decided to add into the PTB flashlight changes, that disallow flickering the flashlight really quickly as there is now almost a 'cooldown' in between flicks. That is all fine, a healthy change, it removes BM-ing, and makes the flashlight a bit more skill-based.
The glaring issue of this is - it is a PR move. BHVR attempted to use accessibility as the 'motive' behind this change because of the potential and harm of clicking the flashlight, and how it could induce seizures. Is it a problem to add accessibility? Definitely NOT. That is not the problem, the problem is the weaponising of the people that suffer from epilepsy or anything seizure inducing - as a moment of 'good will' from the Devs. But this is ingenuine and shows their willful ignorance to issues unless it is convenient for them to address.
The issue of flashlights inducing seizures, or being a danger to inducing them has been in the game since the beginning. As a matter of fact, flashlights used to be WAY stronger as they completely made your screen white in a matter of milliseconds. This new change on the PTB is not the FIRST time that flashlights are receiving a visual/mechanical change to them. This is something they could've addressed a long time ago, years ago - if it was for the purpose of accessibility because they USED to be even worse. If we were going for QOL changes that are to make the game more accessible why not change other features that were reported to induce seizures such as clowns bottles? Plague's vomit? and etc.
Because this isn't for the community. This isn't to help people. This is to blow-off the steam that has been ensuring with Fog Whisperers, about the hackers, about IP leaks, about the basekit changes, about the mori changes. This is just so that people can point at something recent and go, 'hey, at least they did something good here!'.
Stop trying to defend this behaviour.

The first poster is literally trolling because I am not a malding survivor main over a change that is insignificant to my gameplay as I dont use flashlights and they are using that to discredit anything I have to say.
