Fan Chapter: A Tale As Old As Time (Map, Killer and Survivor idea)

Hello hello, here is my next chapter idea! I wanted a killer that has the same vibe as old fairy tales and stories of the old Fae/faeries. Dark and magical in a sense. Please let me know what you think!

Map: The Order of the Great Creature (Red Forest)

Deep within the Red Forest, you can find a strangely warm place where the cold of the forest doesn’t seem able to penetrate it. A sacred grove where everything seem alive and thriving well. Almost a little too well. The trees bend and twist against each other and it’s huge branches almost cover the sky. The beautiful flowers that grow in this area twitch erratically and almost seem to breath. Mushroom of different sizes glow an eerie lights. Following these living paths takes you to an old stone building, built against a huge, black and jagged tree. The branch of the tree would twitch, the dead wood seemingly still alive and a dull red glow seem to exist inside the wood. Another strange sight is a hand-built and cracked green house, with a sign that states “Property of the Harts”. The flora and vegetation inside the spider-like cracks would bloom to life and die the next second. Along the area you can find nooses tied up, hanging from trees, a large stake dug in the ground surrounded by burnt kindle and bloodied rocks all over. This place was created from all the different memories of The Faery, combined together and given a new life so that the Faery can feel safe and call home.

I decided Huntress and Plague needed a new roommate lol. I thought of creating a kinda magical yet eerie map would be really fun!

Killer: The Faery

Name: Hazel Morrow

Aliases:  Dryad

Gender: Female

Nationality: African American

Realm: Red Forest (The Order of the Great Creature)

Power: Fae Tricks

Weapon: Great Thorns

Speed: 4.4/110%

Terror Radius: 24 Meters/ Lullaby (Singing): 32 meters

Appearance: The Faery is a beautiful young woman, with light brown skin, wearing a dress made of leaves and flowers. She has almost transparent, black, insect-like wings on her back. She wears no shoes and has thorny roses and Berries decorating her long, curly brown hair. Her brown skin is cracked like a dying tree and has discoloration, like bruises, with some of the cracks dripping green-tinted blood. Her smile, while at first look normal and lovely, you can see rows of sharp, monstrous teeth. But then she grins wider, the skin of the corner of her mouth begins to split open, a fissure breaking along the side of her face, revealing even more teeth. Her other eye is missing, rather a beautiful flower erupts from her eye socket, a trail of green-tinted blood coming from it and down her cheek. Her hands and arms are wrapped in vines, thorns and flowers with her fingers constantly breaking and repairing themselves.

Background

Hazel Morrow was a young girl when she watched her parents be hung from a tree. A mob attacked a the small community she and her family had resided in. The attack was brutal and bloody, Hazel barely fathoming the amount of bodies she saw as she was forced into the arms of her aunt and uncle, them being told them to run as her parents distracted the mob coming for them. Hazel was tossed into a trunk that was loaded in the back of her uncle’s beat up truck. Hazel peer out of the lid just enough for her to see outside. Hazel can see two figures with ropes around their necks as they are slowly pulled up a tree, her parent’s strangled screams muffled by the jeers and cheers of the crowd. Hazel was part of the handful of survivors of that dreadful massacre. Hazel was moved several counties away to a new small town, but even as the years passed, the memories of her parent’s hanging bodies along with the countess other dead bodies she had seen still haunt her. She would have dreams of the branches of the tree stabbing into her parent’s bodies hanging bodies as they were slowly taken away into the darkness. The people of the small town unnerved her, too many of them reminded her of the mob who killed her parents, and seem to wanting an excuse to do the same to her and her aunt and uncle. But years passed and Hazel, now a young adult, took up a job at her uncle’s bookstore, where Hazel would clean the store, organize the shelves, and sometimes entertain some of the young kids that come to the store. Then the day came a couple showed up at the store. The man introduce himself as Clay Hart and the woman introduce herself as Dana. The older couple smiled at Hazel and asked for books on folklores and fairy tales. Hazel felt a strangeness come from the couple as she guided them through the store, picking out books that they may be interested in. Hazel notice symbols drawn on to their skins, each looking arcane. Curiosity growing, Hazel ask the couple of the symbols and the couple explained these symbols are to show their love for and to honor the fae. Fascinated, Hazel asked them to elaborate and they explained the stories of different Faeries in different cultures, the special realm they resign in, the arcane magic they hold, how many storybooks were inspired by them, and how they honor a specific Fae called The Great Creature. Clay and Dana explained that they recently moved here, having lived in Ireland for most of their lives, where they both met and began their practice of honoring faeries, before deciding to spread they practiced and grow their coven for those who need it. When Hazel asked by what they mean by “for those who need it”, Dana and Clay explained they both face with extreme trauma in their lives, Clay had witness his father ending his own life and Dana witness her siblings die when her home caught on fire. They explain that they started their worship and honoring the Great Creature as a way to gain a magic to help heal them from their traumas. After Dana and Clay had left, Hazel found herself unable to stop thinking about the conversation she had with them…or thinking of her parents and her hometown. Days passed as Hazel replayed that conversation in her head and she desperately hoped for Clay and Dana to return to the shop. After a week passed, Dana returned to return a book she wasn’t a fan of. She made no conversation with Hazel, much to her disappointment, but after Dana left and Hazel went to return the book to the back, she noticed a piece of paper sticking out. The word “tomorrow” with an address. Hazel was eager as she moved through town, to the outskirts near the tree lines. Dana and Clay waited for her and quickly ushered her through the woods. A mixture of anxiety and anticipation flowed through her as they walked when something finally came to view. A small group of people, less than a dozen faces she had seen in town but never paid much attention to, all surrounding what appears to be a small stone house, with blackened tree grown through it. Dana and Clay introduced Hazel as a newcomer and the couple then welcomed Hazel to the Order of the Great Creature. Their covenstead deep in the woods, surrounded by nature and where they believe they can be the closest in touch with The Great Creature. The coven welcomed Hazel with opened arms, showing her the rituals they partake in the call on the Great Creature and its magic. Hazel found herself a bit unsure of these rituals, with some odd things such as a carving if symbols into a blacked wood to later be buried, creating satchels from dried flowers and wreaths from animals bones then bleeding on them, and painting symbols on their foreheads with their own blood. But with the memories of her parent’s deaths still in her mind, she persevered through the rituals. Night fell and a full moon glowed in the sky, Hazel stood in a circle of the other coven members. Hazel with the arcane symbols drawn on her forehead, the bloodied satchel and wreath were set up in front of her, she kneeled down digging into the dirt with her hands as she begin to bury the carved blacked wood. All around her the coven members took up a chant in some strange tongue. She finished burying the wood and gazed up. For a moment nothing happened. The s dude to she blinked a fog wrapped around her. Hazel can barely make out the coven members surround her as the fog thickened. Hazel eyes shot upward as she saw something begin to descend toward her. It was like the branches of the blackened trees had came to life and were coming down toward her. She closed her eyes tight as she felt them touch her skin. And the grief began to drain away. The memories of her parent’s murders was still there but became slightly more faded. For once, Hazel felt at peace. She opened her eyes and the fog was gone, the trees branches had return to their original positions. Hazel was crying with relief. Hazel accepted the coven with open arms, wanting to do desperately to thank both them and The Great Creature for taking away her pain. Hazel learned everything she could from Clay, Dana and the rest of the clan, from different ritual, arcane books with magic symbols, and stories of different great Faeries and what they know of the Great Creature. Hazel felt full of life again, something she hasn’t felt since she was a small girl. When a the child reaches at the bookstore asked her what had gotten Hazel in such good moods, she couldn’t help but explain the stories of the Fae and her coven and the good they had done. Rumors were spread and eyes began to watch. Something Hazel and the rest of the coven failed to notice before the next meeting took place. The next day came and Hazel was forced from her home kicking and screaming. The people of the town have learn of and witnessed The Order of the Great Creature and their practices of witchcraft. Hazel, Clay, Dana and the rest of her coven were gathered near Clay and Dana’s home. But in the coven, Hazel notice other people, family members of the coven members. Wife’s, husbands, children, siblings, and Hazel’s own aunt and uncle. The town spat that the witches and anyone of their bloodlines needed to be made an example of to warned other off their path of heresy. Hazel was forced to watch in horror as members of her coven and their family members were dragged away to different spots. Some tied to long wooden stakes, kindle being set up around them. Some were taken to a large tree, with nooses already set up around the branches, and some were forced so sit in an opened field, held down at gunpoint and dared not to move. Hazel can only cry in horror as one by one they were executed. She witness her aunt and uncle, ropes tired to their necks as they were pulled up, their screams becoming strangled as they were hanged. From their places on their stakes, Dana and Clay managed to hold each other’s hands and share a cry as the kindle was lit and they were set aflamed. Hazel stood quickly and screamed in a protest when something wizzed passed her. Before she can turn to look, something else flew and pain shot through her left eye. She collapsed to the ground, screaming holding her bleeding eye, the stone having destroyed her eyeball. Through her pain, she can hear the sounds of stones being thrown, pelting the people around her, beating them down. More stones hit against her, and in instinct Hazel over her face with her arms and hands. Stones flew more and more, bruising her arms, feeling the bones crack as they pelt against her fingers in her attempts to defend herself. In her dazed and bloodied vision, she can see the others laying around her,  blooding pouring from wounds and head caved in from the pelting stones. So much blood. So much death. The moments the stones seem to lessen, Hazel screamed with a new energy and sprung from her fetal position, running toward the woods. Hazel ran and ran through the woods, bullets and stones flew pass her, along with the memories of the hanging of her parents, her aunt and uncle, the bloodied bodies in the streets of her hometown, the burning bodies of Dana and Clay, the littered bodies of her coven. She cried for help, her adrenaline beginning to fade as the pain began to overtake her. She can feel the mob getting closer to her. It was going to be over. With her legs about to fail her, she prayed and begged for The Great Creature to protect her, sweating an oath to it. All of the sudden, screams behind her was heard.  Hazel crashed to the ground but managed to turn, her good eye seeing the mob had turn and fled in terror. All around her, Hazel can see the fog had returned. She glanced up, tears of relief falling from her bloodied face as the blacked branches had appeared again, coming down on her. As the fog thickened around her, she sobbed her thanks to the Great Creature, begging it to take away her pain and how she will do anything. With her oath, the fogged sealed Hazel and she once again felt at peace.

Weapon: Great Thorns

The Faery hurts survivors by thrusting her hand out, the flowers and vines on her hands lashing out into long sharp thorns. After hitting a survivor, the Faery would look at her hands, watching the flowers suck up the blood as she giggles.

Power: Fae Tricks

The Faery was blessed with gifts from the Great Creature and she uses every last of it to continue to honor it.

Special Ability: Jinx

The Faery can grow a flower in her palm and blow into it, sending out pollen and petals forward at nearby survivors (range of 10 meters). Survivors hit with it will gain the “Jinxed” status, having a countdown place on them (60 seconds). When the countdown ends, the survivor will be forced to look into The Ethereal Plane and will be unable to see other survivors or the Faery, only able to hear their foot steps and the terror radius (Survivors are still able to interact with props). Every 30 seconds their vision will return to normal for 10 seconds before being forced to look into the Ethereal Plane again. Every time they are hit by The Faery with a basic attack, their vision will be restored for 60 seconds before returning back to the Ethereal Plane and the timer repeats.

Limited Item: Rowan Charms

Survivors can remove the Jinxed status by a limited item called “Rowan Charms”. Only 4 spawn randomly every trial and they appear as a bundle Rowan sticks tied together with twine. A survivor can use this item to perform a short ritual that causes the Jinx Status to melt away, and in turn, the Rowan sticks burn up instantly.

Special Ability: Fairy Rings

The Faery can grow a ring of mushrooms (or flowers) around the trial grounds. These rings will be very faint to survivors and will not see them unless within 5 meters of them. When the Faery steps into a ring, she will gain a speed boost of 15% for that lasts 6 seconds after leaving a ring. Can place 6 rings down at a time.

Perks: Hex: Fairy Song, Overgrow and Scourge Hook: Post Trauma

Hex: Fairy Song: A hex rooting in panic. A quiet melody that zaps the energy of your prey. Skill checks have a 50% chance of becoming mirrored, the pointer moving counterclockwise. Failing any skill checks will inflict the Exhaustion and Oblivious status for 40/50/60 seconds.

“Oh sweetheart, even a blind man can see the suffering you been through…” -Dana

Overgrow: A funny game of hide-and-seek. If the killer looks into a locker, the locker will be blocked by the Entity to survivors for 45/50/60 seconds. Has a 60 second cooldown. Only able to block two lockers at a time and blocked lockers will be highlighted red.

“I still see their hanging bodies whenever I close my eyes…” -Hazel Morrow

Scourge Hook: Post Trauma

Let pain be all they know. At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks. The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Each time a Survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply: When a survivor is unhooked from a scourge hook and healed to the healthy state, they will gain the exposed status for 40/45/50 seconds. If the survivor is downed before the timer is up, all other survivors will suffer from the Oblivious status for 40 seconds.

“Knowing I don’t have to hurt anymore. After everything I been through…I never felt more happier since I was a little girl” -Hazel Morrow

Mori Killing: The Faery walks around the survivor as The Faery plucks a flower from her hand. As the survivor tries to stand, she simply places the flower on their back. The flower will immediately take root into the survivor, making them scream and collapse on the ground as roots curl through their veins, out their skin, mouth, etc. The flower in return will gradually grow bigger, the glowing petal becoming larger as blood drip from them. Eventually the flower blooms morbidly beautiful as the survivor finally stops moving.
