How can killers like Midwich?
For real, it's pain that map.
There's several god pallets, those annoying windows attached to the breakable doors, navigation is horrible, hook spawns are laughable. For real, I had the worst experiences on that map as killer.
How do you guys like it? Is there any special strategy I'm missing?

My main problem with Midwich is hook spawn. Otherwise I have no problems there. I've seen much worse than Midwich.

It used to be my favourite map as survivor, because of its spooky atmosphere. But as Killer I hate. When survivors go immersive then, oh god!

Midwich is actually statistically killer sided if I remember right, I'm pretty sure it has one of the highest kill rates currently of any map. I also tend to do well on Midwich personally. Some of the reasons I think are:
- There are a couple of god pallets, but only a few (two in opposite corners of the map and a pair of them next to each other in the same closed loop in the center courtyard.) Most of the pallets in Midwich are reasonably gameable though.
- Midwich is a map where breaking the walls helps the killer. If you break the walls in the corners it gives you extra access ramps to the upper floor, and if you break the wall in a hallway near the vault on the bottom floor it significantly weakens that loop. So I typically break as many walls as I can in my initial patrol at the start of the match.
- Because the two floors are fairly small you can often hear generators even between floors without having to move around much. This helps give you a good picture of where everybody is. This also benefits killers with ranged abilities that can go through floors like Doctor and Nurse.
- The map has both long hallways for killers like Blight and Hillbilly for fast travel but also have lots of side rooms that are good for stealth killers like Ghost Face, etc.
- Finally in the endgame the two exits are in predictable spots and not too far from each other which can help sometimes keeping the last person from getting out.

We're silent hill fan boys and exit gates are easy to patrol

I love it as killer. Most of the loops aren't that strong, there are long, narrow, and dimly lit sightlines, and the gates are static and very easy to defend.

There are only 2, maybe 3, strong pallets on the map and the rest are all fairly weak.
Once the walls are broken almost all the windows are pretty weak.
The map is small so killers like Nurse, Hag and Doctor have a pretty easy time on it.
The gates are too easy to guard.
I rarely have problems with hooks on Midwich, but running Agitation all the time helps.
Survivors often have trouble finding generators on Midwich.

You'll notice that with most maps claimed to be killer sided, they've got a lot of broken stuff for survivor, as with every other map.

We clearly have different definitions of weak and strong pallets.

From what I know, there's only 1 god pallet (aka the one at the stairs). The breakable walls at windows are not that big of a deal. Just pre-break them when the survivor goes to the loop. As for the hook spawns, they only become bad once you kill someone
The map is generally viewed as killer sided because gen spawns are a nightmare for survivors, it synergizes with a bunch of killer powers, the vast majority of the pallets are playable for most killers

- There's the one in the medical room that is certainly strong.
- A decently strong pallet can spawn in a tile in the courtyard.
- There's the one by the stairs that I guess is strong. Yes the killer has to break it to continue chasing but it's not loopable.
Those are the ones I count as strong.
There is the bathroom pallet that is a strong pallet too. I don't consider it strong because once the survivor drops it they can't get away to anywhere safe and even if they have Dead Hard it can be easily waited out.
Maybe the pallets by the hidden room can be strong but it's not hard to zone a survivor there where again they can't get anywhere safe.
The rest of the pallets mostly have fairly small loops that are weak, especially once the survivor drops the pallet.
The Gideon Meat Plant has more strong pallets in the quadrant by the basement than the entire Midwich map has total.

I love Midwich, the atmosphere is just so cool. Once you can remember where the stairs are and find them quickly, it's honestly not that bad. But first off learning where they where was really hard. You have to learn which way to turn to go up and down instead of doing a whole lap around and wasting time.

Bruh it's the most killer sided map after shelter woods 😂

Love it when people use bruh😂

I rarely lose in that map as Clown btw.

Once upon atime, Boons didnt exist and the hooks weren't borked

Lately I prefer the Broski or bro momento but bruh is the mainstream choice 😅

Ideally you're playing the "weak" pallets as an M1 killer, because there's almost no way you're gonna a get a decent survivor with your power there. All they have to do is not jump and drop the pallet early. They know as well as you do that it's somewhat easier to hit them once the pallet is down, because then you can potentially Bloodlust them down. So they just wait for you to commit and pallet stun you. They can do this with basically every "weak" pallet in the game except for the underground one in Temple.

Oddly enough, I have a good kill rate there as Killer and a good escape rate as Survivor. It's not like the Swamp where I love it as survivor and think my past lives must have kicked puppies to get it as Killer. For some reason, Midwich just works for me.

hook spawns make me hate the map as killer and love it as survivor.

Yeah, I just really like the map in general, and find it fun from both sides.

It's a map that I can play on... unlike the Underground Complex (RIP)

1. Its the best map for ambushs with Piggy
2. A lot of loops are outplayable for M1-Killers
3. Teleport-Killers font need stairs.

Nurse + Midwich + Lethal Pursuer = gg ez

I feel like the hooks are too spread apart from each other on Midwitch but other than that I enjoy the map. I like to play a lot of Hag, Myers, and Twins who are good on that map.

Midwich is a free win for me, unless I'm playing a killer I'm truly terrible with.
When I hear that siren, in my head I'm like "ggs, gl next"

I don't recall asking you for advice on weak pallets.
I crush people on Midwich when I play Clown, Bubba or Legion, among others.
If I am close enough there is no safe place for them to run on Midwich. There's no shack and nothing really safe that lasts for long. If the survivors don't find the gens quick and get them done quick, I harvest their souls in offering to the Entity.
I also find it much easier to find and close hatch on Midwich before the last survivor finds it.
There are areas of other maps where I am literally afraid to chase a good survivor as an M1 killer. Like parts of the game, Father Campbell's shack usually, sometimes the center of Suffocation Pit and Garden of Joy's main building. When survivors head to those areas I more often than not look for a better target instead of following them. Midwich has nothing even close to that.
