Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Annoying trailer & press space bar to actulay start loading the game

Hello, there! Let's imagine a situation when you want to launch our beloved game, DBD. At first, we click on the game shortcut or whatever you start it from, then a little window pops up, which has its own loading bar. Normally at this point, I'm AltTabbing to another window just to spend some time while the game loads. But when I decide to check the loading state I'm facing one of DBD's game trailers, which I don't want to watch every time I launch the application. So I must press a skip button, then I must wait some time at another loading screen just to face new demand: "Press space bar" to proceed with loading. And then a major part of loading happens, which takes some time, and only after I can finally reach the main menu.

I find it very annoying to do all these steps every time I'm launching the game. How do I see it: I launch the game and while loading happens I'm doing my things in another window or etc. When I decide to come back to the DBD window after a while it would greet me in the main menu, ready to start playing.

How to implement this in my vision is very easy. Just remove the game trailer playback for any consequent launches. So at the first launch of the game, we see a new trailer, but at the second, third, and so on we won't. Remove annoying demand "Press the space bar to continue" and just proceed with the game loading. Even if for some reason this request must remain - leave it after the loading process.

Thank you.

If you add -novid to your launch options you automatically skip the game trailer every time you launch the game.

So the first bar you see is the Easy Anti Cheat boot-up sequence. To my knowledge, this is unavoidable.

The cutscene that plays after that is just the trailer for the most recent chapter release or the standard cinematic trailer. This screen also displays the copyright declarations, which DbD might be legally obliged to show. Since this info is not displayed on the main title screen, this might be hard to remove.

The last space bar tap is the log-in and start-up screen. You could theoretically make this automatic, but I haven’t seen a single (steam) game do this.

Won't work for me. It would be great if trailer skipping become an automatic feature out of the box.
